Guilty pleasures. What would you give up your GT86 for?
Rich196 replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
It had a "good" Ediff. Which did a pretty good job on the road to be honest but get it on track and it did like to push understeer rather than steer with the throttle. -

All the torques low down. Like pre 3500rpm 500 ftlb! Bare in mind this is from my lightly fettle e82 135i tuned. On the old N54 twin turbo car. Back in the good days Excuse the noble 3r. I can assure this is the plot from my 135i. Lets say my mate with the noble was a little disappointed. (what do you expect from a car built in a shed) This inst as good as it got that plot is an off the shelf map. Once customer tuned it was producing over 420hp and 530ftlb reliably on 3 different dynos. It never went on a hub dyno they were all rolling roads. What does this mean in real life. 255 section tyres spin up everywhere, in most gears. Gives over taking the personal touch when your on a dab of oppo looking in their drivers window. Real world speed? This thing would see off 997 GT3s. I did get it handed to me my a 4.0RS once but I was fully laden. Dispatched a 430, 4 up. Kept to the coat tails of a R35 GTR from 60-160. Kept on going to GPS 175. I gave up before it did. (I am not cock (yes I did own a bmw :P) all of these back to back comparisons were carried out either on the track, or autobahn) Corners yeh it was good for a road car. As a track car not so much, mine had the e90 m3 trick bits on and B12 suspension to make its more 1M not LSD though! Give me the 86 for driving feel any day of the week. -
Looks good, whats the weekend warrior?

If you are using clay this time of year. Soften it in warm water. If you use Bilt Hamber id advise soft no regular in this cold temps.

Glad you for it sorted and it was nothing major!! You might want to top your coolant bottle for the charger up its on the low mark. -
Says he with a Shell on his doorstep This is true, on a clear day I can see the price from the living window However one time when I really need Vpower on my way to brands hatch it had ran out. #trackcarproblems

There is nothing wrong with being a V power snob, i will drive out of my way within reason. I believe that super market fuels are cheaper due to the fact they contain less additives like cleaning agents. Don't know if its true. I dont have a low ron map on my car anymore. Its mapped for 97+, but dont get bent out of shape about fuel. If you get stuck put 95 in it. It will still run, it might not be as smooth while the ECU adapts, just do not give the engine a beating. Its in the high RPMS where the 97+ ron comes into its own to stop engine knock. If I had to I would put 95 in mine to get somewhere, but I wouldnt WOT, or go able 4-5 RPM.

HELP!!! Strange noise from the supercharger

I wouldn't like to comment on whether its safe to drive without doing further damage. I would ring Abbey early in the morning I know mark gets in before 9 often. -

I would remove the belt and see what it sounds like then. One thing I will say is DO NOT OVER FILL THE CHARGER WITH OIL. It will do damage. Running it a little bit low if better than too much. Bottom of the dip stick. -
They mate be seeing if the code follows the pack or if it stays with the cylinder.

how low is it? show us a pic! I had miesters on my MX5 NC, and they were always set high on the damping setting get the ride on the road was acceptable, compared to my 86 on HKS which I can only describe in comparison as bone shattering. Go over a sunken drain cover you are left wondering if the wheel is still attached. I think you have been spoiled unfortunately by the double wishbone setup on the mx5s.

I believe K sports are more form over function.

I found paceward better.

What IATs are you seeing?

50 seems low to me on the accusump gauge. Hard to tell. Have you phoned @Mark@Abbey M/S to talk it through with him. He's always very helpful.
-
Oil pressure sounds healthy. You are correct on the way the accusump should work. I dont know about oil level. Whats the reading on the accusump gauge when you took the reading?
-
Looks like a good car you have there. I would have bought it ;). What kind of oil pressure are you seeing when its cutting in and out. Regarding the accusump, by the time you get a chance to lift the bonnet it will have topped itself back up with oil from the sump.
