I should imagine the sinfonietta was amazing to be part of, not much room for a rock guitar though

So here is my lot, I do like my bikes old skool and have never been without one for 31 years. The XJR is the only one I really use these days as the Triumph and the LC are a right royal pain in the ass. The FZR is waiting for me to buy it a new rear shock and then It will be ready for some track fun

Unexpected things you like about the GT86
Andrew Smith replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
you might have trouble watching it from the drivers seat, I suggest swapping the touch and go for it -
Hi all, I have been lurking for quite long enough and thought it was high time I came out. I inadvertently bought my 86 at the beginning of November when I was looking for a cheap MX5 as a winter hack to replace my motorbike during the winter months. I took a test drive in one and the rest is history. As far as mods go I have put some yellow stuff pads in and re shod with Contis as I have and will be doing track days. So far twice at Mallory and once, last weekend at Donington. Donington was the first time I have felt a need for a little more power so I am going to start thinking about that. This place is a very informative and friendly forum and I look forward to enjoying all things FA20 with you all Cheers Andy

Odd marketing from Steven Eagell

I had a letter from Inchcape offering me a new car at cost plus an extra £200 off if I register before a certain date. It has gone in the fire lighting basket. -
I don't know how people time their laps on track days but I found this natty little app for android http://www.racechrono.com/ I have been trying it out on the road and it seems to work well enough. load your track switch it on and forget about it. anybody use any better?

Unfortunately my donkey got banned from tack side as he got caught timing cars. I told him eeyore to know better.

Point taken. I understand that timing oneself can lead to over exuberance and frustration when being held up but this would be for looking at after the event rather than during, and I do think that I am considerate on these track days, not really wanting to stuff my hard earned in to the scenery or anybody else. The TSS is very appealing and I am hoping to getting on the last 3 rounds. Unfortunately other commitments will stop me from doing the first 3

Thanks Will, I was looking for a cheap 1-2K MX5 as a cheap, fun winter hack but everything I looked at was rotten and then just one test drive, just for the hell of it, and I was smitten. Never had so much fun in a car, well not since my teens

Thanks Keethos, I must admit that I haven't really been a car guy until I got the 86 but this thing just makes me smile every time I get in it . I have recently bought a Scorpion cat back that I have yet to bolt on, just need a free spot in my diary to line up with a dry day and I can get that done. Really resisting the urge to blow some cash on some go faster goodies, I will no doubt break at some point ££££. Not sure about showing it as the paint has more chips than Harry Ramsden but you never know

Cat n fiddle and then Buxton to Whaley Bridge, thats a cracking road. Then over the snake pass, back down to Bakewell. Stopping at the Yonder Man for a propper dirty breakfast. Im always up for wasting a tank of fuel

It really is a great spot for petrol heads, every road out of here is a good one

Bloomin eck, I only popped in to say how do and the north/south divide has bost rate open ☺. TSS sounds like my idea of fun Rob, I shall have a look at the rounds later in the year. I am in Ashbourne Mark and as Nicebiscuit says, it is a terrible area to be owning an 86 what with those North Derbyshire passes and twisties and not forgetting easy access to great tracks. Its a tough old life
