Nice bass lines, I can hear a lot of influences there. Scott Walker and John McGeoch spring to mind. Great stuff -
Is it true that uel manifolds encourage ringland fail?
Andrew Smith replied to Blameshift's topic in Mechanical
I wondered if you would make an appearance 😋 Now then, about these oatcakes, as all of England and Kent knows the best come direct from my kitchen and I have the waist line to prove it. Staffordshire oatcakes indeed... counterfiets 🌯🌯🌯 -

I was only jesting. The vid points towards the offset con rods, unable to cope with a lot of boost, bend. This in turn causes the piston skirt to hit the conrod and break. I suspect that the type of manifold wouldnt make a scrap of difference. Dont quote me on that though. -

Absolutely true, even as we speak UEL equiped motors are failing right across the land and not just here in England but in Staffordshire too. The end is neigh, save yourselves... EL for the win 😘 -
I bought mine used on fleabay nearly 2 years ago so I am sure it will be an old design. Never put it on as I am not sure if I want the extra noise. Should give it a go really as it is not a hard job to swap over

Sounds like I have a different Scorp Ian as there is just a single back box with the tail pipes coming out of that on mine. The pipe going in to the back box is a slip on and clamp up affair. If you stil want pics I will be going over to my garage tomorrow evening so I could take some then
-
Another one here for the TD mani and overpipe. Mine is with the stock catback and has just sailed through its mot. I do have a resonated scorpion catback but have never got round to trying it yet
-
Nice write up Bob, makes a world of difference doesnt it. Now you are on the slippery slope, what is next? 😈

That makes sense Mike as it exactly how I started the car on that occasion. I have just tried to recreate the situation but this time no cel so I guess that under those circumstances it is as and when the ecu feels like it
-
So I drove a couple of miles to the shops, everything working fine. Came out of the shops and started the car and got a CEL. A scan told me the error code was U0037 which is something to do with canbus A not communicating, I'm way out of my depth now. The drive home without the dongle was fine so I shall blame the scanner for now.

Cheers @Mike@TD.co.uk I got it working this morning by renaming the custom PID.
-
Absolutely, this is where I went wrong.
-
I have got mine working this morning, no need for a plugin. Set up a custom PID using the settings I posted near the top of this page with the exception of the long and short name, call it someting you will recognise. I called mine 'Andys Oil Temp' Go to realtime information and select the guage that appeals to you and then from the menu that will appear, select your custom PID. All being well you should have a working oil guage
-
The Vgate scanner arrived so I excitedly plugged it in and just like the last dongle... no oil temp. Not sure if I can be bothered to persue this any more, I might just install a proper guage at some point
-
Gaffer tape?
-
This sounds promising, I will give it a try when the new dongle arrives. Thanks
-
I have ordered another dongle, the same as the one Rich has but I shall also try omitting the 'C' from the unit type. Will have to wait until later in the week for the result as the car is in for a service. I have Riceburners Yaris at present ⛐
-
That is good to know Rich, mine cost me about 8 beer tokens so it wasnt a great deal of money. I believe I have my settings right so perhaps I should pry my wallet open a bit further

The only other thing I can think of is that the Ecutek remap isn't compatible
