Yokohama V105's seem to be the favourite choice on here. I sssume it was a private sale if you've got the wheels that cheap?
-
Looked a good meet wish I could have made it! What wheels are on your car Kev? (Saw pics on FB Group)

Looks good Jeff Do you get much scraping with it being so low? Would like to lower mine some more but don't want it to be impractical.

Hi Guys, Ever since buying my GT I've never liked the feel of the clutch. I'm getting horrible clunky shifts between 1st and 2nd and when dropping down from 3rd - 2nd or 2nd - 1st it can feel like I'm mushing the gears together rather than a slick engagement. There are also issue when sat in traffic, I depress the clutch, mush my way into 1st then I get an awful 'Clunk' that sort of shudders to the back axel. Not nice at all. It doesn't happen every time however. Its bothering me more and more now, so just been outside trying to gather some more info, and noticed a sort of whining noise, that disappears when the clutch is pressed (see poor quality video.) Anyone else experienced anything thing like this? I'm worried it may be something serious. Car is a 62 plate but only 18k on the clock. Thanks in advance.

Reassuring to know it's quite common then, I'll have to suck it up and get use to it I suppose

Thanks for the replies guys, Maybe it is something I'm going to have to get use to! Keith - There's sort of a whirling noise when in neutral and clutch up, disappears when clutch is pressed. It may well be normal too, just not something I've noticed/experienced before. 20k service coming soon I'll mention it then to get a second opinion.

I'm running Nokian WRA3's in 215/40/17. Very impressed upto now but abit early to comment on real winter performance. A lot better than Primacys in all conditions though!!

My main plan for my car next year is to get out on track. I have many reservations however, as my only experience 'on track' was a CAT driving day in Summer, which while it was fantastic, I didn't gain any actual track experience or etiquette as such (As it's not a track day obviously!!) Im frightened to death of having an accident, my car is financed and a can't afford to just buy another if it does all go wrong! I fear my lack of understanding would end me up in trouble! I keep seeing you seasoned drivers using all sorts of technical phrases that I haven't a clue what they mean, and I don't know how to find out! Soooo.... I'm looking to see if anyone can recommend any track day tutors or tuition they've had to help them learn the ropes? Or share their experiences when going out on track for the first time. Thanks! 😃

That's looks like the type of thing i'm after Will! Nice one

Thanks for those replies chaps! A lot of good info there and I'll take it all on board! May even tag along for some spectating when your all at Bedford in December!
-
I stipulated 'next year' as I've just bought winter tyres, which wouldn't be ideal I'd imagine Although I like the sound of Bedford if it has plenty of run off space!

£700 is a pretty good quote for a 21yr old! I'm 24 and mine almost £1400 with some exhaust mods and Coilovers. As always there's many many factors to consider though. Try some of the specialist insurers on here? That's the route I'll be taking come renewal time!

Aside from the work needed to cover the original holes (like some aftermarket ones need) maybe I should have said! Assuming that would cost less than a whole new bootlid? Hmmm....
-
Any ideas if the new rear spoiler will fit the "old" model? I like it!
-
Don't suppose you still have the tyres?

Not wanting to share has clearly cost you dearly! Good stuff.

Hey Igor, My previous car was in fact a Nissan Juke and I loved it! even just a relatively standard 1.5TD it was fun to drive! The GT86 is a different beast though! I'd imagine you'll miss the Turbo surge from the Juke but not much else, the GT86 is a great car. Have some money aside for modifying it as you won't be able to resist!

So had my car at RRG Macclesfield the last couple of days having some warranty work done. It's the first time I've had my car in there and can only echo what others have already said, their service is spot on! As well as the few niggles I had they also fitted my MTEC shift springs and Perrin shift bush. The difference is astonishing and I would say they best Mod I'll do to the car, it's so much more 'Slotty' as Rich put it but seriously, it's so much nicer to drive now! They noted that my rear tyres are getting towards the end of their life, so now's the time to stop spending hours everyday looking at wheels and choose some to fit along with new tyres! Won't be anything exotic unfortunately, but hopefully improve the look over stock! - Watch this space!
-
I'm having MTEC springs and shift bush fitted today, if they don't improve the feel much I'm going to go for the Kartboy short shifter, although that has mixed reviews, most are good!

Looks a great spec car! May come and have a look at it when your up at the Three sisters!
-
Guilty pleasures. What would you give up your GT86 for?

Land Rover Defender 90. Cool AF. -
Are they stock Primacy tyres?
-
Mines held on with some strong Velcro! Sticky pads would work the same I assume. Looks miles better!

I'd be up for some sort of meet providing I'm not working.
