Sounds good, mines there in a few weeks. What did they do to help the 2nd gear issue?
-
I've been eyeing that one up for months, waiting for it to go on offer though as I'm too tight to pay £90 You can use standard seam weld points or there's a central point at the front and rear if you have a look in the manual it pictures them

To those suggesting Yoko's, are you running them through winter, and if so how do you find them during the miserable wet/icy/snowy conditions?
-
Someone's snapped them up that's why! Thread can be closed. Ta.

Hi, Bought these from a member of the other forum, who went silent on me after paying, I then sourced a different suspension set up and out of the blue 2 weeks later they arrived. I have no use for them now though. I'm old they were fitted for around 12k miles. All fitted to stock shocks. These have never been fitted to my car, only the previous owner. Any questions fire away, I'm on holiday from Wednesday for 1 week so if bought after then shipping will be delayed. Will send same day if before then. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222226562489 Cheers. P.s - Located in Wigan if buyer wants to collect.

That's brilliant Jeff, Thanks again!

Thanks Jeff, I was assuming that full stiff would just stop, and I couldn't turn anymore, I've now found the point where it doesn't quite 'click' and taking that as full stiff, and counting back from there. Sounds like a daft question but don't want to break anything!

Coilovers all fitted! Set them to the settings Tein have in the instructions, so it's only dropped about 10mm from my rough measurements. Been on a quick test run and nothing's fell off so that's a positive! Will give them a proper test once I've checked everything over again in a couple of days. Two concerns though; - It's says 16 levels of adjustment on the dampers, yet there's no discernible 'stop' when turning the adjuster. I've not been been tweeking willynilly, I've taken that they were at full stiff when they came in the box, but I can turn them down at least 20 clicks with no difference in feeling of the dial?! Am I doing something wrong? - I've no idea how to set the correct length of the ARB drop links, I've set them equal, and they don't seem to be fouling on anything, but not sure that's the right way to do it? Help/advice welcome!

So after weeks and weeks of deciding what my next big purchase would be and changing my mind multiple times a day!! - I've ended up jumping on the band wagon and bought a set of these beauty's; Going to attempt to fit them tomorrow, my experience on working on cars is minimal, but I'm pretty handy so looking forward to getting having a go myself! Picked up some new Whiteline front drop links as I've read they are a pain to get off in one piece, but I'm unsure how to set them to the right length of them once I've set the ride height? Will update once they're on! Cheers to @James@Amber for superb service too, only ordered them yesterday afternoon and they're here this morning!

Good to know, I may follow suit and get some for mine!

What size spacers do you run with the stock wheels? Considering using mine as winters too but they look awful without spacers!
-
Nice write up! Car looks spot on!
-
Welcome! Love the car, Wheels really suit it!

Quick question.... Are adjustable drop links a 'must have' when changing suspension & lowering? Or can standards be used providing their in ok condition? Would they be needed for both front and back also?
-
Assuming they're not using a mounting screw as 0v, then yeah that's how I'd imagine they're wired. Check the plug for a tiny marking that may give away which is 0v. A cheapo multimeter will help you out a lot. Otherwise you could just keep swapping them about - Have some spare fuses at the ready tho!
-
I'm not certain (but by the looks of it no one else is!) that if you can get your hands on a multimeter and check for voltage on the cars plug and determine which cable is for brakes, lights, indicators, then you'd just have to trace the ones in the tail light and match them up!.... Not sure if that's any help to you but I'll buy them off you for a fiver if you can't get them to work
-
Is the problem the Tail lights come on when the brake pedal is pressed, and brake lights come on when tail lights are switched on?
-
Ahh all you men are well ahead of me! Best get me shoes on! 😂

I am also a Pokemon sado! I can't stop playing it though!!

Ah that's a shame! Looking forward to seeing this all come together!

Any updates @smudge?
-
Looking very glossy! What products have you used on it?
-
Car looks good! Nice step up from the C1? Although when you start reading through other build threads you'll find yourself with a parts list into the thousands for wheels, suspension and exhaust! Good luck trying to resist though!

Genuine ones are available on eBay, about £40 ish.
