  1. Yeah that's one Jeff! You get the best of both worlds! Chuffed with mine.
  2. I've got a valved system on my Mini @Keethos and it sounds like something your after! - A remote control opens a valve that bypasses the silencers so it's just a straight pipe for hooning purposes! It can be closed off and directed through silencers again at the push of a button! - Not sure how much an exhaust place would charge to fit though!

I had a 90 degree on my Borla UEL and that ran for about 5k miles with no CEL. Worth taking into consideration!

    Coilovers & Exhaust

Cat back sold. Thread can be closed cheers.
  6. Sold up so selling the parts I've bought whilst owning the car. Cat back exhaust system - £250 collected WN5 area. This was custom built by KMS motorsport in Wigan. (They do a lot of Ford stuff!) Stainless steel with 4.5" slash cut tips (Clamped not welded on) So you can change if you wanted, although these fill the cut outs perfectly! Gives the car a really deep tone & goes well with the Borla manifold. Found a a video of the cat back on its own! Mishimoto magnetic sump plug - £8 Never got round to fitting this. No use for it now. If buyer wants to collect from WN5 area will sort a deal out 😃

Haha! Sorry Keith! Mini is a great little car though. Plenty of room for engine tuning too. Just not quite as eye catching as the GT 😜

    Tom's Project

Hi, So had my GT since January and now that I've got some bits done and some future plans I thought I'd get a build thread going! So here's my car when I bought it; 62 Plate with 12.5k miles on the clock. After driving around for a few weeks I decided the exhaust needed abit more ooomph! So took it to KMS exhausts in Wigan where they Built a Non Res cat back system, with 4.5" slash cut tips. I've since fitted a Borla UEL Catless manifold, I'm quite pleased with the results. That's where I'm up to at the moment, I've got some MTEC Shift springs and the MTEC Clutch spring to fit too as the gear change in mine is awful. In the next month or so I'll be ordering some Coilovers, Still deciding between the Tein Flex A or Z. Then it'll be onto Wheels! I really like the look of Japan racing JR3's but they only look good in 9.5" and they're undoubtly going to be heavy! Hopefully I'll have some worthwhile mods to update this post with soon! Coilovers & Exhaust

Hey bud, sorry I didn't see your post. Which part are you asking about? The manifold would fit to the stock overpipe yes but that's now sold. The catback system is still available and will fit to the stock front pipe. If you fit the cat back and an Un equal length Manifold you'll get it sounding like that. Hope that helps.

Had a few concerns about my car recently, mainly being it's out of Warranty next year and the resale value is no doubt going to take a hit after then, I'm in a position where it's worth more than I owe on it at present so this morning I've agreed a deal to part ex it! 😔 New car is a 15 Plate Mini Cooper S with hardly any mileage and a heap load of optional extras. Flex A Coilovers, Borla Catless UEL Manifold and KMS custom cat back will be a few of the parts I'll be removing and putting up for sale soon. A little bit sad to see the car go but I've had plenty enjoyment out of it, don't think I'll ever own another car that looks and handles as good as the GT.

Oh dear! - at least it's still in warranty! What lead up to it blowing? Under heavy acceleration or high revs?

    Tuning Developments GT86 Turbo 'TD86'

It's sort of inbetween the standard feel and having the spring completely removed. I didn't like it with no spring in there, the MTEC one is just right! - I really struggled fitting mine though, very fiddly I found!

It makes the shifter a lot 'Tighter' if that makes sense. I've got the clutch spring and shift springs and they make things a lot nicer when shifting.

    Winter Tyres

It's too exhausting to argue as your not willing to accept alternative points of view. That's the idea behind a discussion based thread like this. I've never once claimed winter tyres are 'necessary' Just that I've fitted them and that they give me peace of mind in winter conditions and that's my 2p. Your opinion is that they aren't needed, fine. You then threw the 'Salesmans dream' insult at me, but don't like I when it's pointed out you can be viewed to be in that category as well. Seem to be off topic now anyway, back to Winter tyres.

    Winter Tyres

I'm struggling to see your argument here? I base my opinion on evidence shown through many many trials and tests of winter tyres. - They work and that can't be denied. Quite ignorant of you to think that because you don't need them, no one else does. Edit - In reply the the salesmans dream comment, my winter tyres cost £400 which you may view as an unnecessary purchase. Far less than the £4.5k you've just spent on a Turbo that I view as unnecessary purchase. Different perspectives that's all.

    Winter Tyres

If I've just finished a shift at 6 in the morning to find it's snowed overnight and I'm stuck on the car park at work, Winter tyres may just get me home and to me they will have been worth their weight in gold. And if that doesn't happen, I'll have the peace of mind I'm reasonably prepared. Obviously if you live in the middle of a city or don't need your car to commute or get about then clearly winter tyres may be a waste of money.

    Winter Tyres

Plenty of videos like this on YouTube. It's pretty clear Winter tyres make a difference. Personal circumstance is the biggest factor if your asking are they 'Worth it'.
