Newbee from Newcastle - current VXR owner soon to be GT86 owner

Definitely no Aero's in 2012 either. Guess it's a typo? Best of luck OP - hope you enjoy it as much as most of us. -
Watched it on iplayer last night - pretty poor. The old TG had lost its way many years ago and had become a parody of itself; this was depressingly similar. Either make a new show or let this one die.

July 2014 I had greenstuff pads fitted which were £45 +VAT +fitting - CLICK. Quieter than OE pads and lasting much longer. Pleased with my choice.
-
Would you confirm it's the complete kit per this please: CLICK?

Are they these: CLICK?

Blidge. I paid north of £27,500 September 2012 without JBL!

Mine was mapped by Adrian at Fensport. He's raised the torque low down, minimized the torque dip, flattened the torque curve - much nicer to drive. Also a couple of toys; launch control, auto-blip on down change and flat-shifting.
-
Welcome. Pleased to see you chose the fastest colour. Is it pretty much standard? If it's not been done already you may like to consider getting it mapped - makes it a much more enjoyable drive. All the best

Is there a proper link to whatever this is? All I see is a spinning circle...
-
Are you sure it's not from sniffpetrol or somewhere similar?

Applied Wet Coat over two weeks ago, washed last week and over 600 miles this week and no wash yet. Still beading pretty well.

If you're still considering changing the gear knob, I'm very pleased with a cheapy ebay item here: CLICK. The added weight and most importantly no darn stitching makes it a pleasure to use. Probably the best VFM 'mod' I've done.
-
Most common name seems to be fender protector or fender cover.

Colin? CLICK & CLICK

Clear coat is claimed to last 12 weeks, so certainly not a weekly application either.

I think it's an expectations mis-match. For a pretty much zero effort, spray on, rinse off product it's superb. Never going to replace or be as good as a proper polish and wax but as a quick fix I think it's brilliant. Next time though, I'll follow the advice above - hopefully get an even better finish.
-
I'm not sure - I did but initially quite streaky. Probably user error. Next time I'll take a little more care and do a panel at a time - but it's worth it. The finish for spray on, rinse off is amazing.

'Tiz witchcraft! Just washed mine which was kinda difficult because the water kind of hovered half a millimetre above the paint. This wet coat stuff is magical.

As JapFest is not at Combe this year, it looks like they're hosting a similar/smaller event; Castle Combe's Japanese Car Show Saturday 14 May 2016 tickets £15 in advance, £20 on the day. 15 minute track sessions plus all day track pass also available at extra cost - probably for those braver than me. Some of the public track sessions have been a little too 'boisterous' to me. Some may be interested in the Show and Shine competition: here.
-
I'm hoping to get there early-ish. I'll be taking a hot flask in the car though, just in case we get queues like a few years ago for Japfest. Shouldn't be anything like as busy but I like to be prepared.
-
Here? Nothing obvious on mine without removing the rubber.
-
The higher ratio final drive; obvious benefit is improved acceleration but the downsides would be higher revs cruising, lower fuel economy and reduced top end? Are there any figures to show these 'negatives' are noticeable or not worth worrying about? Or have I made a bad assumption anyway?

I just grabbed a quick couple of photos of the window area/surround. Where does this rust appear?

Claying depends on the contamination. It's rare I've had to clay a car more than once a year. Now you have it decently clean, polished and protected just keep on top of it and keep it well protected with a decent wax/glaze.
-
Looks good, for a non-orange car. I've always enjoyed the before and after feel of claying - such a difference. I've considered buying a DA polisher, the DAS-6 pro being towards the top of my list. How did you get on with it as a first time user?
