Looking at reviews of long term clients of Jack, the Alcantara tends to hold up pretty well for around 3 years of hard track use. I don't think it'll wear any noticeable amount over 4 or 5 years of daily use and the occasional track day.

I should have my wheel in a week or so, so I'll have a good idea of the quality then.

has your wheel arrived yet? Be interested to get your thoughts.

Green slime gunk sums it up where in Lincs are you?

I'm just on the south side of the humber bridge, being nice and close to Blyton park I'm looking forward to some track days later in the year. I would have come over this weekend but I'm stuck with the on call work phone this weekend.

  3. Thanks for the info on the green stuff. Has my OCD kicking in as it makes the engine bay look a mess.

Still getting used to driving the car, after over 6 years driving only diesels the throttle is taking some getting used to as it doesnt need a big shove with my boot to make it do something

  4. Picked the car up today and have to say I bloody love it, I can see this being a happy friendship. :D Just spent an hour putting some polish on, now I finally have a car worthy of polish again I'll need to get stocked up on some decent cleaning equipment.

One quick question the under bonnet area is covered in green slimey gunk, is this some sort of protective coating added at the factory or has my car been driven under the sea

Congrats and welcome to the club! Hope you can join us on some events/shows this year....or maybe even the odd trackday if you're keen for that type of stuff.

I'm looking forward to getting the car out on track, I've already booked a car limits training day at Blyton to give me some safe running to get used to the car.

Welcome to the club Dan, glad you've found the forums useful :) What have you gone for spec wise?

Gone for an Aero in pearl white with the gloss black alloys. I know the rear spoiler is a wee bit marmite but I love it :D

Congrats on the purchase, any plans to modify it at all?

Cheers, Long term plan will be to add some modifications but would rather wait for a while until I feel the need for more and the finance have recovered. It'll also give me time to get upto speed with whats available. Spent last night drooling over the Cosworth mods though.

  8. Just a quick hello to everyone on the forum. Purchased my first GT86 yesterday, the forums been really helpful in making my mind up on what car to buy. I've been stuck in shopping trolley cars for a few years so really looking forward to getting my hands on the car, hopefully next week..... :D
