Thank you for answering the concern that I had Lauren, much appreciated
-
The speedo error I had stock was about 10%. Would read 77, with 70 on GPS. So, going to 245/40 would make it 3% worse than what I currently have, but still not as bad as stock. I'm not really sure whether the issue you're getting is actually that fucking important for when I'm pushing on My concern is the amount of sidewall on a 245/40/18, is the sidewall/diameter/circumference increase going to be an issue and has anybody with experience of said tyre fitment got any comments to make vs what i'm currently on.
-
Throw it off? It under-reads anyway. So I usually go by GPS speed on my headunit and then just work from there on the tacho. Problem for me is, I'm on 9.5" wide rims and don't really want the stretch that comes with the 235 and the 255's that are on there at the moment are just a tad too big haha.

Tbf, should've explained but for me, more of a case that the HKS Panel filter was producing near results and is £30 as opposed to £360. Edit: Catbacks also make much more of a difference sound/volume wise.

Is anybody running on 245/40/18? Really want Pilot Sport 4's, but they don't come in a 245/35/18 fitment

@Ivesy722 @SimonB95 you guys up for this?
-
So after chatting to @Mike@TD.co.uk and having a a think, I've decided against going for the Perrin CAI, Seems the gains aren't worth the cost and even though it does sound absolutely awesome, the money will be spent better on a track day or two

Seriously you should try the antimatter rockets, can set you up with a nice 20% discount so only £4,000,000,00 each.
-
Parachute + forward facing antimatter rockets for the braking system

So just bought the brake upgrade package (EBC Yellows front and rear, HEL Braided lines and uprated fluid) from @Mike@TD.co.uk. Keen to feel the difference in initial bite/brake feel and have some fade resistance on track, in time for PHSS Silverstone!

I'll drop you a PM before I do a post, won't be for a while though!

I'm actually pretty impressed by the BC's for the grip they provide at the price they're at (£650ish?). But I do pretty long commutes sometimes and they just don't have the ride Quality of the Flex A's. In hindsight I would've sold them as soon as they got delivered and then just gone for the Teins, but that's not me just plain old disliking the BC's. The Teins are just more comfortable.

Driven a few cars with 255+ on the front and I've never felt an issue tramlining. If I was worried about weight on my daily wheels, I wouldn't have bought 9.5" wide ones Form over function when it comes to daily (within reason 😂). Rears are 9.5kg, haven't weighed the fronts. But hoping to not have to use them for too long for track work. Hoping to pick up some TSW Nurburgrings for that. I've never had a problem forcing the 255s loose if I really really want to, plenty of my friends can attest to that fact haha, along with the rapid reduction in tread depth on my rears :S Just requires a scandi flick or a clutch kick
-
They're on the rear perfectly fine. @Ztox is running the 9.5s up front with no issues afaik, As are TD with a similar wheel setup and I'm pretty sure @smudge had the same width/offset setup too. Fairly well documented that it fits.
-
Nobody likes understeer! It's pretty grim at the moment when pushing on. Don't really want to go bigger than 225 on an 8.5", hence why I've ordered another 9.5" for up front so I don't have to run staggered and can get some front end back.
-
I bet What made you pick Stoptech over AP Racing?
-
Thanks man! Not changing wheels, just going up to 9.5" on the front as I love the concave! Video of the TD UEL and the CGR Exhaust:

From Karting I tend to be pretty hard on the brakes for initial bite, coming off slightly immediately after that and then bleeding them off into the apex. So wouldn't say I'm particularly harsh on them. How much were the Stoptechs front and back?
-
@Mikey P fancy a convoy to Pro-Drive? I'm MK based too, just opposite Westcroft.

Thread revival! Need new pads, car is my daily but will be starting track season come March and the old pads are nearing death. Don't want to spend a huge amount on an upgrade (No BBK yet). Been eyeing up the TD Brake package and was wondering if anyone had some proper experience on the EBC Yellowstuff pads. Guess it's between them and the Dixcel ES, which I've heard plenty of good things about! Unless someone can throw another suggestion into the mix? Also, brake lines....Worth it?

You can just sign up and put your name down
-
Good thing there are plenty more PHSS dates after that eh?
-
We had a few for the last Silverstone PHSS from the "other side", I know @Deacon was there. Toyota UK brought some of their 86's out too, Think it was actually their last public showing before they were auctioned off. Make sure to get yourself signed up on Tuesday and I'm sure we can sort out a meet/convoy into Silverstone or any other PHSS
