I should add, in the dire case the rear window let go (!), there would be 2 suckers on the boot still there which are rated to 95kg each, but I can't really see it happening. People all over the world have been using these.

Thanks all, kind comments . Yep the rack is vacuum mounted to the rear window. I was a little suspicious of Seasucker racks, but with them being sold globally for a few years without many horror stories I gave them a go. In my opinion it's an awesome bit of kit. I cruised at a steady 150kph all day on the autobahns, drove pretty hard on alpine passes, and didn't have any problems. The car handles better than with a rear-mounted rack too. The mini bomber model we have won't mount to the 86's roof because of the contours in it. My wife wrote a review of it here with a few more pics: http://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/bike-locks-racks-storage/mini-bomber-2-bike-rack

Abbey added a custom map to mine that starts reducing power at 130 degrees to give you some warning that it's best to back off if you haven't been paying attention. I usually tend to take a break if I notice it reaching 125. 120 is a very normal track temperature for an FA20.

Good chance you'll need new front drop links too. The originals often need to be cut off.

Nice one, welcome to the club.

Must be in good condition - let me know what you've got.

No static. It doesn't surprise me you've had a different reading. It depends what rpm they tell you to hold it at (differs around 1000rpm in my experience), how good you are at holding the revs steady, weather on the day, could go on all day! Essentially I've been tested at least 3 times with this setup and 78 is the most I've had!

If you're feeling brave.. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7827 Can't say I'd go that far though.

MeisterR ClubRace Coilovers: Affordable Track Focused Suspension
surrey86 replied to MeisterR's topic in Modifications
What testing and R&D has been done on the clubrace coilovers? -
Happy Christmas. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Is yours a pre-2014? Toyota replaced the wiring with an updated coilpack connector design on the updated cars. There seem to be hardly anyone having issues with those. The next time it happens to me I'm going to try to push them to replace the wiring. You could also try wrapping the coils in heat resistant tape, don't know how well this works.

I saw front suspension on eBay recently.

If you just go for the TD manifold you'll be alright. I have an FA20club manifold which is a very similar design, Cobra overpipe and the rest of the exhaust is oem. This gives me readings between 75-78db when tested.

Think I've been lucky but I've never had to queue in the pits on a trackday, unless there's been a red flag. This isn't the first time I've heard Opentrack have over filled Silverstone, there was a big thread on Pistonheads complaining about a terrible day there Opentrack ran earlier this year. MSV, Javelin and Mazda on Track days have all been great for me. Bit controversial as we have a deal with them, but I found some of the Lotus on Track days not great as I was constantly getting caught by Exiges and Elises on track tyres.

Exactly, the button is there for a reason.

It affects the torque reading. Copper-slipped nuts will actually wind on a bit more (i.e. get tighter) for the same torque setting.
-
They shouldn't have any copper grease on them.

Do you not need chains for Austria? Driven through there in August, serious mountains everywhere!

***PRICE DROP**** Supercharged GT86 62 plate
surrey86 replied to Bfranklyn86's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Cars
Yeah that's a very good buy for someone. -
Give them a week of use to loosen them up and there will be another improvement again. I'm struggling to imagine how much of a pain it must have been to do without disconnecting the door cards, but fair enough under 1 hour is quite good!

The coils on the side that tends to fail aren't too bad to access from the top, when you move an ecu out of the way. It's more the cost of the coil, they are really pricey, £100 a throw.

Lauren, they do actually start degrading and failing. The EML is the start. At Donington and Oulton my cars ignition went really woolley at the top end and lost power after a few sessions with the light on. You could actually hear it starting to misfire. There were 2 coils throwing codes at this point though.
