Impressive parts write-up/diy

During the track days I did last year I found the oil temperatures needed more monitoring than I'd like. Both were in ambient temperatures at or below 10 degrees C yet I was easily hitting mid 120's partway through a 20 minute session. I could do shorter sessions but I find I'm only just getting into it after 10 minutes so my goal is to make the car comfortably do 20 minutes without concern, without a negative affect on daily driving. A couple options seem to be a low temperature coolant thermostat (£50-£80 depending on whether you trust the Cosworth name or Mishimoto lifetime warranty?), or an oil cooler. The car has over a year of warranty left and our local dealer has form for being an arse (charging main dealer labour rates for investigations if they can deem it to be related to a mod) if they're aware of modifications. Will a lower temperature coolant thermostat have a real affect on oil temperatures - or is this just pissing in the wind and I should go straight for a cooler.... or any other alternatives? Thanks for any advice

Seconded. You can even add mods on their website without even picking up the phone.

I didn't, it isn't doing it now. A few mins ago I tried it twice and both times I was logged in as Sam. I noticed as it was going to deliver to Sam's address.. His order was showing up as £57 for some reason. Think it was Derby iirc. Think there's some sort of cookie problem. -

Somehow that logged me in as Samuel White, complete with full account info?! -
Cheers, yeah I think they work

Yeah Team Dynamics are cheep and cheerful, would rate them above Rota and JR wheels.

Very nice, some cracking photos.

For an update on my side, after a week of driving including a 1000km stint to the Alps the Focals have loosened up and are definitely a decent improvement over oem. I found the equalizer needed some drastic changes, dialling the treble right back and increasing mid and bass. Now the speakers actually have a little kick to them. I didn't bother fitting any sound deadening.

When low mileage gearboxes are so cheap on ebay, it does tend to indicate they don't break very often.
-
I fitted a set of these this morning, Car Sounds And Security in Epsom is selling them for £119.99 if anyone is interested. Not even driven with them yet tbh. I'm leaving on Friday to drive a couple thousand miles around the Alps so looking forward to bedding them in. I'm not expecting miracles - to get good sound you need to do a lot of work on these doors, but hopefully it'll be a worthwhile improvement.

That's what I call a turbo fund

Already have Velcro on the latches, Church. Tbh it's not a big deal, I may have a look into the Subaru seat rattle at some point though.

I have a bit of this, same rear left corner. Initially I thought it was the shock knocking so I had Toyota take a look. They found it was play in the rear seat latch mechanism but couldn't adjust it. Try dropping the seats and see if it goes away.

Welcome! I'm another CR3 As Rob said, Abbey Motorsport is the place to go for performance mods.

I'm looking at tyres to fit new 18 inch, 7.5 inch width wheels. Toyota fit 225/40 R18 tyres to these on the aero models, and these are relatively cheap. I've read though that 215 would be better on a 7.5 width rim, because of sidewall flex. 215/40 R18 are available, but are a £30 a wheel premium on a PS4! Is sidewall flex that much of an issue on an 18 inch wheel with a 40 profile, or is this mainly a 17 inch thing? Cheers
-
I better not look now! Went for 225/40/18 PS4's in the end. They look about right and Toyota fit that size on the zero wheels so ignorance is bliss
-
Looks good, the centre caps set them off quite nicely.
-
Good feedback on the Superpro polybush kit! Sounds like not many have had it done yet if there was a fitment issue.
-
It's essentially a stone chip protector for the lower bumper..
-
Sounds like someone has set the shift light to come on at a low rpm.
-
You certainly don't want your £450 worth of new gas to dissapear out of the same hole!

KW have a summer sale on with £300 off V3's, so doesn't make sense to buy used off a wheeler dealer, sorry!
