Has anyone ever had a 97 RON map? Obviously 99 is preferable but might be useful to switch over if 97 is the best available and you're low - and you don't want the ECU to pull timing for your next tank of 99.

Maybe the club should sponsor a big inflatable cushion on that armco! Hope the repair cost isn't too bad.

I'm getting mine remapped next week so this interests me aswell. Auto blip sounds quite annoying - it's easy enough to diy on the track when you're braking hard. Is it actually useful on the road? Thinking of leaving it off completely as flat foot shifting could be useful? Hmmm.

My money's on Lauren's dog ate the bed in procedures.

The non resonated ones are properly loud, I'd advise listening to one in person before parting with money.

FWIW Carbotech XP8's perform really well for me on the front and wear well, but are likewise very noisy when you're not on the brakes sub-40mph. You can't drive with the windows down, does your head in. As brake pads are fairly easy to swap I'm thinking of getting a low noise, low dust pad for road use.

I always have some Autoglym bird wipes in the boot for "emergencies", but yeah - stay away from trees. Better to get into a hot car rather than one plastered with bird shit.

I usually take a couple of random car bulbs lying around just in case of a nazi gendarme. They'll never fit of course!
-
Interesting report. I also find the Oem speakers horrible at speed, even my wife has complained which is saying something. As soon as you start sound deadening it is a very slippery slope though, always room for a 'little more'. I'm not sure I want to start on it!

I know of somewhere selling a spec L second hand for £575...

I see your point on the height, but not how tucked the wheels are into the rear arches!
-
I think the GT86 suspension engineers had shares in lowering spring manufacturers, fitting any aftermarket wheels without dropping the car looks dire. Subaru can never seem to get a decent arch gap and flush fit as stock, my Impreza was exactly the same.

Looks excellent, very well finished. Sounds weird, but having done this sort of thing before I most like the insides of the doors, very comprehensive.
-
Fair enough. What do you mean by they shouldn't be exactly equal length? Just wondering as mine looks near as damnit.
-
Does it? Primaries on the right are longer.
-
Might be a complete pain in the arse to fit without the flexi sections though. Only reason I can think of for them is for dealing with sub-optimal manufacturing tolerances.

Guy fitting my coilovers says the car won't be road legal, should i roll/pull my arches?

Toyota in Wrexham actually fit tuning boxes, i.e. chip their cars! I was amazed when my Dad bought a nearly new Rav 4 from them with a box fitted. -
If your car is still under warranty, you'll need a VAT registered garage to do the service in order to maintain the warranty anyway. Toyota isn't cheap, but compared to places like BMW it's not that bad. Also given they have fixed-price servicing nationwide, we pay the same in the South as in the North so for once aren't paying higher labour rates!

Toyota should offer those interior options from the factory

Unfortunately that certainly wasn't "mate's rates". At least you're happy with the ride though. -

Err, did the £600 include the actual coilovers - £600 for fitting can't be right? -
Anecdotally the Oem one never seems to fail whereas there's been multiple reports of the old Cosworth item going. The Mishimoto item has a lifetime warranty so you'd be a nutter to pay twice as much for the same part with less warranty. It does seem to offer minimal benefit in order to justify adding an extra potential failure point on the car. If you're doing tourist laps of the ring temperatures probably won't be an issue as usual practice is to stop after 11 minutes or so to chat shit about how "I woulda beat 10 mins apart from that pesky GT3 holding me up on the carousel" before doing another lap.

As I originally said, I agree it should be fine just that some combinations *might* need a little more adjustment than others, and IMO I wouldn't be completely (even rudely) dismissive of guys who fit these for a living. Some manifolds like the FA20club I fitted at the weekend have rotatable v-clamps joins that can pull the overpipe fore and aft a little, obviously having a knock on effect on other system parts, plus the mid pipe hanger has some adjustability. It's not 100% bolt up and forget all of the time.
