My Custom Hayward and Scott Cat-Back Design and Proving
surrey86 replied to Ade's topic in Modifications
Looks great. I really like the Hayward and Scott catbacks and am also concerned about noise so this thread is very interesting. -
I think if your engine detonates the implication is you'd be well advised to recover the car home and remove the cooler. Probably wouldn't mind otherwise.
-
The wing looks 'adequate'
-
I think that's wise. Those are pretty high quality coilovers so should sell no problems, netting you more money and appealing to a larger target audience looking for standard cars.
-
Very good news it's an MY17, you'd be driving the first in the country, totally unique... But you'd prefer to wait a month for a different number plate!
-
Looks really nice. Tbh I think it'd sell quicker with standard shocks on, being a special edition and all.
-
Race cars do it, do you want your car to sound like a GT3 car or a Prius?
-
They might start creeping up when people suffer failures out of warranty, but it'll be a long wait.
-
Does anyone actually notice new reg plates anymore?! I just assumed new cars were on 17 plates already lol.
-
Has anyone got a recommendation for one of these that works? Straight or 90 degree make any difference? Cheers

A few of the US guys mount them where the cup holders go. I considered it but think I'd probably smack my elbow on it! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15588

That's the first I've heard of the second o2 sensor doing more than just being there for checking cat efficiency in an 86. Have you got a link? Thanks
-
Yep I did Manchester to Caterham at 49mpg doing a steady 70mph, helped by the 50mph sections.
-
Generally I avoid driving around with CEL's. I'm just looking to see if members have had an o2 sensor spacer that works for them @Jared That's good to know, but sounds like that spacer isn't working for you.

@Ade has a shopping list on the other forum that comes out as just over £500. It looks the best solution, if a tiny bit close to the aux belt although I've no idea how strong those pipes are.
-
Probably not going to get a remap immediately.

Erm brake cooling was improved months ago (and is a completely different subject?). I've more to do but that's not what I'm asking here. I don't actually get hot oil temperatures idling in traffic jams, the coolant keeps it under control. What method of cooling are you using Church?

I've got a P3 Cars vent gauge so I can see what's happening all of the time, it's a bit of an eye opener. To be honest with my current ability level and Primacy tyres, I felt enough of a rolling road block as it was on the LOT day with all the Exiges & Elises etc, without short shifting! I do appreciate it will help and I did ease off on the straights when it was getting up to 128 but it's not ideal. Javelin days at Bedford are a different kettle of fish as the standard is that much slower, but I want to be doing more varied tracks this year. Sounds like the cooler is the way to go.

Hi Mike What were the reasons behind designing the kit with an 80 degree stat rather than one closer to the regular oil temperatures? Thanks

Hmmn, pretty cheap on ebay at £249 for the 13 row, although that's an 80 degree thermostat. I'd rather it was hotter as I'd like to keep the oil temperature as standard for normal driving.

What temperature thermostatic plate are you going for with that?

I was standard there and kept seeing it go up to 128. I've been looking into cooling solutions for this year aswell as I'd like to be able to do a 20 min session without keeping one eye on the oil temperature.

Why do no other exhaust manufacturers need these flexi sections and reinforcing braces?
-
They look pretty good
