Snowfoam: Iron X working: After wash: Finished Car after drive to grasshopper and back: I'm far too lazy to get proper pictures, my back hurts and I just want to sleep

I've wanted to get one for ages, a machine polisher I went for the DAS 6 Pro, good reviews and also got a couple of polishing compounds also along with a new claybar (I seem to go through these so fast with 4 cars of the driveway) and masking tape. Build quality seems good so I just need some reasonable weather to have a play with it. I'll write up a review when I do and how I find it and a few guides to fill this section up to help anyone out if they fancy catching the detailing bug and giving their car a good clean once or twice a year also. I got it from http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk , I use them for all my products, never fail on delivery and have a wide range of products. I got the following package, http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher/das-6-pro-dual-action-polisher-menzerna-intro-kit/prod_720.html Contains two menzerna polishes, one cutting compound and one finishing compound and three pads, Soft, Medium and Hard. I'm going to be using the Medium. I have some paint defects, but they aren't that drastic. And i will use the soft pad for finishing.

I was going to do it, but for a Gtechniq detail you're looking at £450+,I figured it'd be cheaper to do it myself.. I'm polishing both mine and my sisters car, If it all goes well I'll happily polish peoples cars on here if you don't want the extortionate prices people charge.
-
woohoo, glad you're liking it. Hopefully i will see you about, where are you based?
-
I had it sealed with C1 when I got it, only started to wear off just recently, still beads well though.
-
I want the wheel in blue! I agree it feels awesome though.
-
I haven't buddy but you can't go wrong with any gtechniq stuff it's impressive stuff. The C1 cost me £70 for 50ml, to be honest the only reason i didn't get C5 aswell is my wheels are kerbed and need a refurb and will be getting new ones soon anyway..
-
Think i'll be picking up that TRD stabilizing cover, looks pretty neat
-
So these are the bits i got, Gtechniq P4 Panel wipe to remove polish residues after my correction polish to prep the paint for C1 Bonding Gtechniq G4 Glass Polish Gtechniq G1 Glass Coating Gtechniq G2 Residue Remover Gtechniq C1 Nano Coating Sonus Clay Lube (I seem to go through lube like it's going out of fashion, no rude comments please Keith) Iron.X... Never used before, but heard good things. And some microfibres to get the job done

I genuinely have a jack like that, works fine. Have had it for years. -

I took some digging, I don't think it was ever available for the GT86, but people seem to have retro-fitted them with good results... Going by the yakima website you can do it with the following: http://www.yakima.com/shop/racksystems/naked-roof/q-towers http://www.yakima.com/product/QClips and obviously the bars, no idea what length is ideal, seems the ft86 guys have used 58" Bar What Q clip number works best for the GT86 is anyones guess, but i'd imagine there's a logical reason as to why they aren't available as Nigel said, probably not strong enough. That said, they do seem to rest on the pillars which should in theory be strong enough, but who knows...

Purchased glass polish/sealant and paint sealant today all in all £120 worth of goodies. Hoping to tackle this next weekend as unfortunately it's going to be raining this weekend by the looks of things.

Fensport GT86 Open Day - 15th March 2014
rob275 replied to faith's topic in Meets/Show & Shine - Pictures & Videos
Who's is that wonderful Sprintex S/C specimen?!? Much better than a turbo wouldn't you agree? -
That was the only one i knew of that "fitted" well. Wonder why they would have been withdrawn?

For £10 a kilo can you sponsor me to put it on dave? I must consider if i feel you are going to achieve 1kg a week or not. It all depends on your motivation But i'll say £2 a kilo for me for now, my pockets aren't as deep as daves!

So it came to light at the fensport meet on the weekend that both me and Keith have these odd scratches on our windows. Mine is on the drivers side, his on the passengers but both are practically identical. Two vertical lines running up the glass, caused by the windows being wound up and down. Can people check to see if they have this? I thought at first it was due to some PDR word i had done on the door, but Keith hasn't had any done, if more of you have it can you take a picture as support for my attempted warranty claim for a poorly designed door/electric window mechanism! I will take a picture tomorrow, it's a little dark now

Scratches on windows (Electric windows)
rob275 replied to rob275's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Dave, it's not grit, my lines are in exactly the sane position as keiths.. Definite mechanism issue. Perhaps it does push against a roller or bearing or some sort and that has grit in it. But it shouldn't happen. -
Doubt he will read this as he's far too busy, but happy birthday Steve!

Yes it's the day before but you can come to the BBQ en-route for lunch
