Changes to Projects & Builds - Introduction of Blogs

Unlocked them, pick what you want to use. -
I use Menzerna/3M Compounds to good effect but haven't used a great deal else. I'd say 3M is the better of the two. DAS-6 Pro is a good starter polisher. I use mine for sanding duties these days and use a Rupes LHR15ES MkII for polishing. Pad wise It doesn't really matter, i'd say pick a brand and just stick to their system as you will get used to them. Similarly with the polishes/compounds you will get used to their cutting ability. Supposedly you're only meant to use Rupes pads/polishes with the rupes polisher otherwise it jumps, can't say i've seen this tbh.

Warning - Bad experience with ChemicalguysUK.com
rob275 replied to Deanusrjm's topic in Cleaning & Detailing
Chemical Guys are a US company, so I presume it is a reseller you purchased from using the name Chemical Guys (probably by their say so i'd imagine) it may be worth contacting Chemical Guys (the actual chemical guys) to let them know that their UK distributor about this. It's not on and tarnishes what is otherwise quite a reputable brand of cleaning products. I've not used them for years but the products used to be great. -

Light scratch / keying damage on side of car removal?
rob275 replied to infernouk's topic in Cleaning & Detailing
I've removed light marks myself numerous times with a clay bar so they can, it totally depends on what the mark was caused by. Either way it's always best to clay it first to decontaminate. As he can't feel it at all, there's hope its very minimal. But he's said it's not caused by twigs so i'd wager he does need a polisher on this one -

rob275 replied to infernouk's topic in Cleaning & Detailing
Probably not key damage if you can't feel it. Likely done by a twig down some lanes or something. Clay bars do wonders at getting rid of these I find, then if you can still see it hit it with a machine polisher. -

@dom2497 Considering the mods alone are nearing on £10k so am I but then i've not really got it advertised anywhere by here and the FB for sale group at the moment. I'm in no rush -
Personally I don't see the point, I ended up having my five axis kit riveted to the car and smoothed in but that's as war as I was going to go. It's still reversible, hacking away at a car isn't really. Re-sale will also be drastically affected.

If it enroaches on the wiper sweeping area by more than 40mm then it's a fail, it's not really due to lack of vision surely given that you can get smaller wipers and be fine but actually have more restricted vision in shitty weather but it would be a pass then. I understand the rule is there so that it doesn't affect vision so you are right, but changing the wipers will untimately allow it to pass MOT. The fail is due to the wipers touching it, not due to lack of vision
-
You could, might look a bit silly though. If you're doing that maybe some sort of tint film just on the top would suit better.
-
Generally you just buy a strip of vinyl and cut it to size. Any wrapping company will do it for you, the wipers come up too high though so it's an MOT fail.

I've seen 139, been fine at that so 120 certainly no issue. That said I do now run an oil cooler. But didn't have one for well over a year.

Surprisingly zero interest, not even any confectionary offers. In no rush to sell mind you. -
Welcome to the club no sides, we will do events together, as lauren said though. Most the big shows are attended largely by us and we do love a good track day. Well everyone else does, I haven't done one for a while due to lack of time.

Hi All, for those of you with outstanding club orders I apologise for the delay. I've been moving out over christmas and new year in to my first home so i'm a bit behind with life in general let alone the club. Hoping to get them all sorted today for you Thanks, Rob
