    Hello

The boot area with the back seats dropped down is completely flat so it opens up in to a very large boot that you can fit 4 standard wheels with tyres in to. That should give you an idea of boot space. It's let down a bit by the size of the boot opening but it's nothing that generally can't be worked around.

    SuperChips remap?

I was about to say exactly what @Ade said. I guess it depends on your goals here. If you're likely to add further bits that would benefit from a tweak later down the line such as a manifold etc then arguably your best option is to go ECUtek. Slightly more expensive from the offset but likely the better and more supported option.

    New Theme update

@Stutopia yes you can change the default stream. Hover over the Activity tab then click on my activity streams, select the one you want, which I presume in this case is Unread Content so just click the below link http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/discover/unread/ Then click on the tick to make it the default and change to green rather than greyed out.

Restoring Black Trim - Solution Finish

Looks good, a heat gun also works wonders. Sounds a bit crazy but if you heat it up enough it will turn darker restoring it's finish. Just make sure you don't overheat it otherwise you're stuffed and it'll bubble 😂

    Not quite an owner yet

Welcome to the club I won't butt in too much on the responses already made. But if you intend to modify it somewhat extensively i'd grab a 2nd hand one and save yourself cash for just that. That said, if I didn't have one i'd probably buy new myself just because new car smell.

    Regional Organisers

Well i'm pleased to announce that @DanJ has offered to take the reigns as regional organiser for the MK and surrounding area. Those of you around the area know he's been arranging meets anyway so not a lot will change
  16. Hi All, There's a fair few of you that have project threads running and on looking at them it can be a bit of a pain to keep track of peoples progress due to the comments & questions on them (which are very welcome by the way) My question to those who have project threads running and those that don't currently is would a blog feature be more beneficial? It would mean that you would have the capacity to set up a blog and post updates and within those updates the comments will be held. In essence it would act like a continuous feed of lots of separate threads.. I'm sure you all know how a blog works The downsides, projects would have to be populated again... Discuss and fill in poll.

    TAROX BBK Review so far

As some of you know I acquired a BBK kit from TAROX late last year for evaluation purposes. A stint of illnesses and other bits and bobs mean't that I got the kit fitted on just before the new year. Now that I've had it on for some time and have a trackday under my belt with them I can provide a well enough review to you all on the brakes and rotors. So the kit they gave me was the 328mm Sport Compact brake kit which consists of the following Red 6 pot TAROX Calipers, discs, pads and hardware to mount to the car. Braided hoses and all the nuts & bolts and boring bits! Packaging was well enough! The box came with a dent in it but nothing was damaged and the whole kit was packed well enough to prevent and scratches or chips to the calipers. Being in one large box it obviously weighed a fair bit! Also came with a complimentary lanyard of course and a small booklet of all their kits. Disc used is their F2000 single piece, obviously many think the grooves are pointless but lets not get in to a debate about them here! Their website states that their Sport Compact kit comes with the B280-6 or B30-6 Calipers usually. However the below suggests otherwise with the B32-6 Calipers instead. The one thing I do need to clarify with TAROX is what pad is used in the kit and I will post that up shortly when I get a response Drawings of the Caliper can be found here: http://en.tarox.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/B32-6.pdf Piston number Disc Ø (min-max) Disc thickness (min-max) Disc Depth Weight Mounting Type Lug offset Minimum internal wheel Ø Lug PCD Knockoff Piston Mounting Centres Piston Layout (Diameter in mm) Total area (both sides) cm² Piston Layout (Diameter in mm) Total area (both sides) cm² Piston Layout (Diameter in mm) Total area (both sides) cm² Pad Code Pad Area Pad Choice Pad Thickness Pad Depth 6 290-330mm 10-30mm 60mm 2.2 kg Lug N/A N/A N/A Optional 89mm 26/31/26 363 26/34/26 394 31/34/31 483 SP0239 80 cm² .114/.501./116/.601 17mm 60mm Daily Driving Usage As a daily driver, I was sceptical about putting a BBK on as I didn't want all brake and nothing else, I didn't want the Girlfriends head flying through the windscreen whenever I approached a set of lights! Safe to say that in these respects the brakes are probably somewhat tamer than the brakes they replaced which were DIXCEL ES Discs & Z Type Pads. The TAROX has a lesser initial bite and seem more progressive, i'm guessing these pads work better with a bit of heat in them (more on that later). The pedal feel however is improved with the braided lines and overall braking performance is definitely not decreased. They stop well in day to day traffic and handle fast road work just fine. Do not squeak which is an advantage. Dusting on the brakes is probably somewhat less than the DIXCEL pads but ultimately this isn't something that i particularly factor in when looking at a kit, if some of you do, they will dust more than stock but I guess lesser than some pads out there. Track Use Hopefully one of many trackdays to test the brakes out I was at brands hatch in January to give them a better test, slightly hampered by both the weather and the black flag I incurred (not through my poor driving I might add) but never the less a good day. As suspected the lesser initial bite was seemingly due to the pads working once they had a bit of heat in them. Probably more for the track biased then, but by no means a death trap on the road. It's worth noting i'm not 100% sure what pad it is. I shall find out for all though. They stopped well enough, it's all I can really say as they didn't particularly feel any better than my old discs and pads as the ABS would just kick in as it was an extremely wet and greasy track. I need to pencil myself in for a dry day clearly to compare properly. Brake fade was non existent, it wasn't on my previous discs and pads either but what I can say is they are an improvement over stock. I'll give them another test in May and see how they do for now though, overall i'm happy with the performance of the kit and would recommend it, it's not the cheapest of BBK out there, but it's certainly not the most expensive.

    Regional Organisers

The only regional organisers we have at the moment are in the Midlands, myself and @Ztox Organise the south-east bits between Essex & Surrey'ish. Lauren likes to arrange a curry or two up in Manchester We need more, if you feel like putting your name forward then drop me a PM, it has lots of perks, like looking super cool and erm... looking super cool But saying that, don't feel like you have to be an organiser to put a social meet up. That's not the case

    Newbie in Essex

Welcome to the club Not quite the right colour car, but at least it's not ginger.
  20. Mark has piped up so i'm pointing fingers at him he's been quiet lately and looks like he's trying to shift the blame
  21. A slight protrusion isn't an MOT failure. Ignore him he doesn't know what he's talking about, perhaps someone else should fit the coilovers that knows what they are talking about?
  22. Hi All, Thought i'd take the car out for a little drive on Sunday so i'll be heading to this https://www.facebook.com/events/1647960018843609/ If anyone else is interested in joining then message the following page with your car registration as there is limited numbers https://www.facebook.com/hookhomeandgardencentreltd/

Had a letter from them inviting us, not something the club is going to this year, think they are struggling to fill it really.

    Stone Chip Rust

Best thing to do is get a rubber tipped pencil and some sandpaper, cut a hole out of the sandpaper with a holepunch and sdtick the little circle to the rubber end and wetsand the rust off lightly by twisting the pencil. Then apply some stone chip repair paint

    Adrian Flux

Don't you normally have 14 days to cancel anyway for a full refund? So technically they've charged £181 for 3 days. That's pretty poor, hopefully @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX can do something.
