Managed to see them in person so almost 100% this is what I'll go for. Only bit I'm not sure on is the centre bore. Demon Tweeks has it at 68mm,. Is that correct for the 86? http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/oz-racing-alloy-wheels/oz-racing-i-tech-alleggerita-hlt-alloy-wheels-set-of-4

I love Initial D. Still watch it back now. Loved his races against the Toudou school. The only shame is we never saw him have a rematch with Keisuke or see how he really compared to Bunta

I like Instagram purely because it's not Facebook.

Momentum99 is fine. I've never had an issue with it in the last 4 cars I've had in various states of tune. Although VPower feels a little better (placebo?) it's also quite a bit more expensive.

This is the first time I've ever had winters fitted to a car so I have an open mind with these. I'm fully aware that 7°C and above they will wobble about a bit more and have experienced this. I drove back from work on Monday around 7pm and it was around 1°C. There was definitely more grip compared to the stock Primacy's and the car was perfectly enjoyable. When pulling away the rear did have more of a tendency to break traction when temps were higher but with fine clutch control it's fine. Tbh I found this with the worn down Primacys too towards the end. I've always been in the camp of I'll just drive slower instead of having winters and my vRS won't have winters. It's running on Michelin PS4's which are fine unless it's extremely wet. I'm in mid Wales so when it snows it's bad so we'll see how it goes. You always still drive to the conditions and I'm not under any illusion that winters are a magic bean that lets you still drive flat out in winter conditions. I definitely wouldn't say it's a pointless exercise as I've noticed benefits already plus the plan has always been to put winters on the stock wheels then buy lighter wheels with Michelin's for Spring. So next year they'll be an option should we think we need them. Not only that the benefit of lighter wheels and better tyres will be appreciated so much more.

Went for Khumo's in the end as the Nokian's seemed quite a bit more at all my usual places. Turn in feels quite good with them at lower temps, traction on rear is better but will still slip. Although they haven't be broken in yet they seem promising. Can't wait to get Michelin's on with lighter wheels come spring time.

Are people running these at 32 with just the driver?
-
Had a look and they all seem to have a ET48 offset with no options to choose one with less.

Ok, winters going on now so I can start looking at buying these ready for spring. https://www.performancealloys.com/wheel-details.aspx?id=544 This site has them in 18x8 ET35 and ET45, probably ET35 is the one to go for. Does anyone know anywhere else that does these? This site does then for about £1400 but I've never used them before.

TBF they cost enough thanks to Brexit. Pound isn't worth much so don't know how many more will unless they really want them

This is how it looks, although most have seen Tom's on a white 86 before. Relay was a bit stiff to get out but apart from that it was straightforward. Worth taking the light off anyway to get rid of the crap behind them

Being in South Wales we don't get much snow but mainly colder temps and ice. If Swansea gets snow the whole country is on stop.

Finishing off what someone else started:) BRZ

I remember seeing this for sale and thinking it would take a brave person to sort it out. I'd like to know how the project is going though -
Anyone got a link for this whiteline bush?

Thoughts on these? https://www.performancealloys.com/wheel-details.aspx?id=544 Should be light enough at 7.8kg a wheel. Shouldn't need to use spigot rings?

Need to get one so I can easily swap wheels myself and work on the car again. Can anyone recommend a good one?
-
Got the one at Machine Mart in the end. Waiting for it to be delivered. Going to order axle stands now, Just need to work out how I jack up one side to swap wheels safely. The old days would be a sleeper on the axle

Toyota Reading Jemca..... COMPLAINT

Standard arse covering. MOT's say that even after test it may not be road legal as a bulb could go coming out of the test centre. -
Toyota Reading Jemca..... COMPLAINT

This is unacceptable. What if this have been and old woman in a Yaris? Is it expected she carried a torque wrench with her just in case? You pay silly money at dealers because you expect good service. I understand service departments are under pressure to get work done but this is an amateur mistake. I'd take a video and give them hell for it -
This is one I saw that looked good. Handy it comes with some sockets too. Have to get one as local tyre places want silly money for swapping or rotating wheels. Haven't looked yet but does the 86 have standard jacking points?

Run F1's for years with no issues, tried the AS3's and they were OK but fancied a change. Went to Michelin PS4's and jump in grip is noticeable. Still took a good tank of fuel for them to bed in like the Goodyears but high speed grip is much better. Not sure how long they'll last though, guessing not long but grip is great

Not on an 86 but on a Mk2 Fabia vRS I run stock pads for 40k with no issues then put Yellowstuff on since there was a group buy on an other forum. I sold the car at 50k and the pads would need to have been changed again. Did the 10k in 5mths. I wouldn't have them again
-
Thanks. That's really good mileage even out of the Yoko's. Judging by that then rotating will be the best thing for now. That should last until almost winter where I can swap over to winters. Get the new wheels and tyres bought then come Spring it will feel like a new car again.

Rears on the 86 are getting low but there's loads of tread left on the front ones. Still on Primacy's at 17k but what I'm not sure of is how long they last. Am I better off sticking another pair of Primacy's on for now? The plan eventually is to go 18's and put Michelin's on those and winter tyres on the standard wheels. I've narrowed wheel choice down to a few but part of me is thinking hold off a little longer, wear out what we have then the changeover cost is lower. But if the rears last another 17k that's ages away. Average mileage is 10k a year, maybe more since it's a car to just have fun driving about in too. I could rotate them but rears while legal are on 3mm so don't have much left anyway. What wear rates are people finding front to rear and on the Primacy's. How you drive is a massive factor but my brother doesn't slide about in it as he's still getting used to it. The miles it's doing mainly are motorway and duals on the commute to work.

The stock wheels will be getting winters at some point. I'll be buying those sooner rather than later before prices go up. Driven normally, what sort of mileages are people getting out of tyres on an 86? Primacy's on 17's or anything better on an 18's
