How often should the TC light come on?
KobayashiMaru replied to un1eash's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Goodyears take 300 miles to bed in, always have done on past cars. Braking distances were noticeably longer until I'd used a tank of fuel up. After that they were fine. PS4's for me next time though -
Want the best quality I can get day and night and that's capable of supporting at least a 64gb card I have an older blackvue which is OK but is showing it's age but looking at the newer ones they aren't as good for the money.

Gone for Amacam/ Mini in the end as it was cheap enough on Amazon. Despite being prime they delivered late so I'll have to fit next weekend now

Hi, I'm Martyn from Swansea, signed up to look for info on mods for my brother's 86. I nearly bought one a few years ago but life happened and missed my chance. Now he has one I'm jealous but also want to help him as much as possible with it. Spent a few hours driving it home and over the last few days and it's a great car even in stock form. A car that's bursting with potential

Those are fine. Means it's easier ordering 8 the same
-
Do you have a picture of what it looks like?

Starting to think more about what tyre size is ideal. Was hoping for 225-40 18 which fits fine on a 18x8 but stretches a little on 18x8.5 which means less rim protection but I like the 18x8.5 wheel I've seen (link a few posts up) Would I just go to 235-40-18 or is that too much tyre? By that I mean too much grip for the car and hurts feel a bit? On stock primacys atm which are fine dry but awful in wet so do want to change soon. I don't know that much about wheels so bear with me. 18x8 ET 45 and 18x8.5 ET 40, how would they differ? It it just losing offset here and gaining wheel width there? Tyres I'd be going for Michelin PS4's. Buying a full set for my vRS soon so if I buy wheels I should get a discount from buying 8 at once

Be VERY careful who you buy parts from
KobayashiMaru replied to S18 RSG's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Cowboys. One to avoid then. I'm always wary about buy abroad as there are very little come backs. The Toms lights and GReddy lifters I've just bought, by the time I paid postage, conversion fee and an extra £48 because they sent it faster than I asked and didn't mark it as a £25 gift I paid close to £600. -
Wondered why they never did it but here it is. Looks great! I'd buy one https://www.carthrottle.com/post/the-toyota-gt86-initial-d-concept-is-an-awesome-manga-celebration/

Where did you get them from? What I've always liked with anything Bilstein is that they just work well and get better the faster you go. Brother drove my vRS a few days ago and said it wasn't great. So I showed him the difference at speed and it's almost as if the car wakes up. Noticed the 86 is a but jiggly at lower speeds but suspect sometimes it's traction control intervening slightly.

Link won't be here forever. 55:15 in you see the GT86

It was on YouTube briefly subbed then got taken down. Subs were basic but good enough. Google the forum for Initial D and it's there

Initial D: Legend 3 is out in Japan now. The last scene is Takumi in his AE86 chasing an orange GT86 that's being driven by the same voice actor who played him originally. It's almost as if old Takumi is reminiscing and going back to old scenes but now owns a GT86, Perhaps there will be more. The very end hints at more movies. At the end of 5th stage Takumi now using the Impreza for deliveries passes the same GT86

Great to see this. I've run Bilsteins and Eibach's on road cars for years but never coilovers. Car is mainly driven on the road so these look ideal.
-
Does anyone run Bilstein or H&R Coilovers?
-
Good. Couldn't remember seeing a button for it.
-
Only just read that some years have TPMS sensors in the wheels? So if I change wheels the light will be on. I don't know how this system works but is it easy to put sensors on non OEM wheels? It's a 13 plate

Toyota should really offer stuff like this as options. OK the market would be small but the idea of the 86 was to make it how you wanted it. Other manufacturers offer more wheel and decal options than Toyota currently do. If you had the CAD file for those decals there's plenty of places that could do it for you.

Says they made the wheels for the car. Surely they must be for sale somewhere? I could see lots wanting them for the retro look

Tuning Developments Manifold & Remap Review
KobayashiMaru replied to Nicebiscuit's topic in Modifications
Nice review. It's useful as I'm toying with UEL or EL. OCD says EL but heart says UEL to get it to sound like a Boxer should -
I have a cousin in Japan so it's an option although after this weeks referendum Japan parts do cost more now. Lots to think about.
-
18x8.5 ET40. Should be OK
-
Not quite the offset I wanted but look good. These should bolt straight on? https://www.performancealloys.com/wheel-details.aspx?ID=6030
-
They look great! Still trying to find the weight of these.
-
Other wheels considered "light". A BBS is 11kg and considered heavy, light would be 7-8kg.
