Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)
gazza82 replied to celicaboy's topic in News & Updates
No response from them yet but mine will be that the product I ordered, and have a copy of, clearly shows 5 ltrs not 1. This is not the first time ecp/c4p have not responded the way they should. I had a battery delivered that had clearly been laid on its side somewhere. The foam packaging smelt of acid and the two boxes (one inside t'other) were both damp ... and 5ltr of coolant arrived with 1/3 of the liquid in the sealed plastic bag not the bottle inside that! There are words ........ ;-) -

Carparts4less is cheaper .. and extra 30% off ... 10 litres for under £10 delivered! Or until they spot their mistake ... should be £37 for 5 litres!!! -
But it will make a loud noise and the fob will not disable the immobiliser ...

MY17 has HIDs with LEDs in the other lights ... DLR, front sideand fogs, and rear clusters/high brake. Side repeaters are old-school W5W bulbs from what I can tell and possibly rear fog/reverse.

It's the nut oil in the peanut butter ... smooth not crunchy! ;-) Meguiars have just bought out a new product. Plan to try it soon on the other cars like our 2002 Pug 206.

USB isn't for charving is it? Sure it's just for usb sticks and audio. You need a usb convertor for plug in centre console or glovebox.

So one month and 19 days later and 2000 miles on clock! Quality isn't great as my passenger was taking these!! At least no 1 and 2 show the "miles to go" estimate is accurate! Thought no 3 was appropriate being a 2017 model!

Having just placed a deposit I will (hopefully) be the very proud and extremely pleased owner of a BRZ next March (2017!) SE Lux Auto in WR Mica Blue .. which seem to be the hardest combo to find, especially new or delivery mileage only. This is to replace my ageing and now SORN'd Alfa 156 which I have owned from new in August 1998 and has just over 210,000 miles on the clock .. yes, 210K!!! Unfortunately the tin worm has got to the floor and inner wings, so it has got to the point where I need something newer .. and as I haven't had a new car for 18 years, thought I deserved one .. I have always loved the look of the GT86/BRZ since they were launched and I would see them being test driven past our Coventry office where there was as short dual carriageway along the business park .. I took both an Auto (BRZ) and a manual (GT86) for a test drive in July and just fancy something different as I've never owned an automatic! But with the "flappy paddles" I think I can live without a clutch pedal. Probably very impractical .. but who cares .. Pics will be added when I get the car ... so how many days is that? Oh 203 ... and counting!!!

+1 for Meguiars

Anyone tried Mintex's Anti-Squeel Pads?? http://www.mtecbrakes.com/mba30-mintex-squeal-damping-shims.html
-
Thanks. Did wonder about the ends poking through. Was wondering if it needed spire nuts to reinforce them. Velcro idea is worth a look too.
-
Cargo net fitings arrived. Msny thanks. So did you just screw these into the boot floor cover with the screws supplied? Anything on reverse to hold/reinforce it?
-
Have you still got the net fasteners or the eBay link ... I've got a net and like you nowhere to hook it. And where did you get the armrest ... ??? Although that might stop my putting the phone in the slot of the cup holder unit. But with Bluetooth it can go anywhere.

There is a deal on the table meaning I will pay a lot less ;-) The car was purchased as an SE Lux Nav ... just no nav units in the country when I collected the car. It's a Pioneer unit I believe. I'm not a massive hi-fi buff so it doesn't bother me too much. If I want to listen to music I do that on my TEAC system at home. There is a sweeter sound coming from the engine bay than the radio or my usb stick! :-)

Oh and the new satnav upgrade is .... £1680 list according to Subaru UKs web site. Up from £1000 on older model. Does seem to be DAB too though.
-
OK a bit more of this G-Force meter .. Eventually found it on the dash settings (Subaru have so far failed to supply the handbook with updated content to match the car's new features!). It's on same "page" as the power/torque curves and lap timer which makes sense. But I've never seen it as the g-force only appears if the car is STATIONARY!! So it basically summarises what you have been doing, but you can't watch it while on the move, which I guess is sensible. But then why show braking force, accelerator movement, and steering movements in that too as .. ??? Limited use methinks!
-
25 days old and ... a paint chip ... in fact a few!!!! FFS!!! Right on her nose!!! Reallt tiny ones but none the less a bit pi $$ed off to put it mildly ... But I did find the g-force meter ... only seems to appear if engine off but has been recording the 1100 miles I've covered so far. Now to test it properly ....

It's a good job it isn't an airbag sensor or Morons United would be haing a field-day setting them off .. luckily the sensor is well hidden ... ;-)
-
Dealer saod they were releasing a new satnav unit as the dimensions changed. Not sure how true that was but it does sound like the MY17 units don't fit the older dash. Someone with connections to Subaru might want to check ...
-
OK that was a complete waste of time .. when I did get it to connect it really only had an audio app that was any use to me and the quality was cr@p .. it's better using the basic Bluetooth connection to play back music stored on my phone.
-
Not sure if this helps .. when it stops raining I'll try and get to the garage with a tape measure, but you can probably see it is NOT rectangular with the side sloping inwards towards the bottom and rounded corners. Not sure about the earlier units and I didn't pay a lot of attention on my two short test drives ..

Hooked my Android up to the BRZs subaru starlink system ... useless. Playback of audio tracks is awful so will delete it from phone asap. The basic Bluetooth connection on standard hu though is fine and being an MY17 I have steering wheel controls so once connected that's it really. Phone sits in a neat slot in cup holder tray between seats. Geting the satnav upgrade when it is available over here. Hopefully late March/early April.
