Loved reading this. Missed it when first posted. I'm just about to buy an armrest and having lost my aux power supply when they fitted my new head unit need to figure a way of powering phone when it's in its mount. I guess that's why you have the lightning cable where it is? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

I've seen other people meld the two pieces of the dash together...what happens if the airbag goes off? Or do you disable it? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Fantastic job, Ade! OK, now the important bit... Give us an idea of what you like listening to with it :-) Bob

Rota Titan wheels*** reduced to £600***

Hi Dave, Any issues fitting 9 inch wheels to a stock car? Bob -
Interestingly I popped into my tuning place and talked through this whole issue with them. They agree with you lot! They say the superchips option is fine if you just want to "pep up" a fast road car but anything more and you should opt for something like a custom edutec map. So now I know. However, Lauren's post has persuaded me to look at the exhaust first and where I go is à Milltec dealer so I'm considering a primary cat back system. Thing is I also need wheels and tyres. I knew this would all get out of hand! Maybe secondhand is the way to go. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Thanks for all your prompt replies. No doubt what the consensus is! By the way, the place I go to has a rolling road and I had thought they would do 'a proper mapping session on a dyno'. I'll ask again but you've probably persuaded me to look elsewhere. Thing is, I have a good relationship there as they look after my S2000 and in the past they looked after my Formula Ford and my Elise so there is that relationship to consider. Decisions decisions.

Has anyone fitted a harness bar and used a harness and HANS device with a standard seat? Or has anyone used the rear belt bolts to locate a harness? Thanks Bob Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Well, I think you have it there. Thanks a lot. Bob.

Someone told me of a performance company who had built a turbocharged BRZ as a project and were selling it. He didn't know the name of the company. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Cheers Bob. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

It's a mystery. Someone at Loton Park mentioned it... said scoobybits had done it as a project but I phoned them and it's not them. (Yes, I heard about a road car not a track car. ) Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

I had a camera fitted. It switches on when you select reverse but you can also manually turn it on while in a forward gear, which is fun on track days:-) Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Hi All, I'm posting this in the general section not the competition area as I hope to encourage those of you with standard cars and who aren't regular competitors to enter the Toyota Sprint Series. They've got a special class (class N2) for bog standard GT86/BRZ. No mods are allowed at all, you've even got to have Primacy tyres, so it's a really cheap way to enter the competition. Also you don't need fancy clothing or an MSA competition licence. There are 6 rounds and you can enter as many or few as you like. I'm going to have a go. Can I entice anyone else to join me? Always more fun with others in your class. We'll be slowest, but it'll be a laugh I'm sure. Here's the link you need - Toyota Sprint Series - you don't have to enter a championship as such, you just enter an event and you're in. (At least that's how I think it works).

Further to Adamd's good advice, unless you know you'll be driving at night don't stick the left to right hand side headlight converters onto your headlights. Nobody will check. Last time I went over I stuck them on but never turned the headlights on. A waste of money and a hassle removing the glue stuff from the headlights when you get home. Bob.

Great review. Thanks a lot for taking the time to do it. I was interested in your comment about the Kouki being more desirable than the Zenki later on. I have a Kouki Honda S2000 and that's certainly the case with that car, but it's a bit annoying when you have a Zenki.

As said, I had to go to a wedding. It was in a barn and I took some good wedding photos. Here's one...

The irony for me is that I'll be fitting Primacys for the TSS N2 class. Anyone know what the difference is between Primacy HP and Primacy 3 ?
-
Immediately before my GT86 I had a highly developed Lotus Elise S1 which was too impractical for the road and a Honda S2000, which I still have cos I'm greedy. ;-) I'm probably older than many on here so have had too many to mention, but amongst them is a second generation Chevrolet Corvair (the rear engined flat six) and a long wheelbase high-roof Nissan Patrol with ten inch wide wheels. I've also had bikes - the most interesting of which was a three cylinder two-stroke Kawasaki 500. Now that I should not have sold. Bob

You're probably going to ask for a video but let's try without one.... it's late and I'm lazy... My car has done about 22,000 miles. On a cold day when I can more clearly see the exhaust smoke in my mirrors, it seems to me I'm producing more than other cars in the traffic jam I'm always in. I don't notice anything when I'm moving quickly just when i'm idling. Is this common for the flat four or is it something to worry about or do you need a video? Bob
-
Thanks All. That's very reassuring. Bob

I'm destined never to attend these events. LAst time it was a family birthday do, now I;ve just been told we're going to a wedding and have known about it for six months. So delete my name from the list I'm afraid. Bob
-
I'll be there. Hopefully with my rear spoiler repaired :-)

How are you selecting the map? I thought you chose the particular map you want when the car is mapped and that's what you have (always). I didn't know you could alter the map from the driver's seat so to speak. Bob
-
I know you don't need a timing strut (beam breaker) for Javelin or TSS events but I need one for MSA events. I just wondered whether anyone on here had thought this through and worked out the easiest way of making/fixing one. Thanks Bob

I think this is the right place for this, if not I'm sure an admin will put me right... I've got a 2kg handheld extinguisher from my Elise which i want to fit in the GT86. In the elise i had it under the passenger's legs on the floor. Is there a better place in the GT86? Where do others fit them? Thanks Bob
