  1. I was indeed . Hmm knowing that I've just given myself a Christmas present today I might have to pass 😂 But all the best on the sell!
  2. Haha I could've seen this coming seeing your car today where it is... How much for the exhaust alone?

    Insurance for a 20 year old :(

I was in the same position when I got my GT a couple of weeks ago, after numerous searches I found Hastings and they offered me £1050, now being 22 with 3yr NCD and having held my license for 3 years I thought it wasn't too bad but Dan from Adrian Flux has bettered the quote whilst adding all extras as well (Hastings had no windscreen cover, legal protection was extra and no green card) so I gotta give them my praise! However I spoke to a couple of guys from Greenlight at Trax and over the phone and they really are car enthusiasts, they provide a more personal experience (one of the agents owns a GT86) and the only reason I didn't meet their requirements was that it was my first time in a RWD car, but I know who I'm going with next year as non performance modifications (wheels, body kits) don't affect the premium plus they offer track day cover too at no extra cost. Before you ask, no this post has not been sponsored by greenlight insurance... 😂
  4. I've put Uniroyals on my cars before and had been satisfied especially minding their price. I'm not saying that I wouldn't spend that much on tyres as the last set I bought set me back £450. I do appreciate everyone's input about the safety concern of budget tyres and do agree but I'm purely talking here about the fact that I was looking at limiting my budget at the moment, I might go about it differently and try to pick up a set of part worn tyres instead... Or just run the stock wheels until spring and then change for brand new shoes 👍 I shall drop a message, thanks!
  5. Thanks for pointing me at the yokohamas, most reviews seem to give them a lot of praise but I'll have to see if I can stretch the budget, the aim was to total £500 for the whole shebang
  6. Yes, from the one and only stealbay but it was a brand new unused set so I wasn't bothered as much 👍
  7. £300 for a set of 18" 8.5J ET35 in machined silver, I couldn't turn the opportunity down, just need to source out some good tyres, what does everyone suggest on 225/40/18's? Not trying to break the bank but wouldn't fancy ending up going anticlockwise on roundabouts with some budget tyre wet grip. . .
  8. Any updates on that picture situation? And does it mount in the same place as the normal spoiler? As in will I have to fill the existing holes if one was to be removed?
  9. Thanks for your reply good sir . I'm looking at getting these for a relatively cheap price so thought why not, just wondering what they'd look like on the twins, only one way to find out now! 👍

Ladies and gentlemen, here it is! It took many struggles to get here but as of yesterday I am now a one happy new owner of this beauty! From just a day's worth of experience I can now honestly say how much of a different car this is! To say that I'm astounded would be an understatement of the year, I am looking forward to many many miles and smiles with this one!
  11. It's not like I know much about the car but I have seen it recently at Trax and it seemed all fine to me! It could be something to do with carbon build up...

@un1eash My was a 1.6 DIG-T 190bhp but after all the tweaks and mods it put out about 236 with EcuTek. I also had Tein Coilovers + Cusco bars and 4-pot fronts and 2-pot rear Akebono brakes from a 370z, its fair to say I never felt like I didn't have enough stopping power after that. I've recently put the stock brakes on it and sometimes I have doubts over it stopping at all! @Squadrone Rosso Those are some beautiful shots! Well ladies and gents I have seen my GT today and it is looking good with just around 36k on the clock the interior looked barely worn, no scratches on the front what so ever on that nice black paint, the boot and the rear bumper also both had a little sign of contact with firm surface (I'm suspecting reversing into an object) but I can not really complain on the overall state of the car. The papework has been put into motion and I shall be picking the car up next friday/saturday! Anyone know of a potential previous member? Numberplate is FE13 XYM.

Cheers buddy, I'll be in touch with you soon as I'm sure the dates are concrete. The more the merrier so the quicker we can get organising maybe the more people would join us hopefully we can also play by the weather we all know just how predictable and kind the valleys are with the rain 😂

I shall keep you all updated but I'm looking to get the car on the road around 11th of November (waiting to get my NCD on insurance first) besides I'm going to be away for most of the time until then anyway, but soon as I get time on some weekend I am definitely down for a meet!

Completely forgot as well, Ross has been ever so kind to take me out on a quick spirited drive which made me even more convinced about the purchase, he answered all my question and cleared the doubts. Yes the deposit is down and the car should already be waiting for me at the dealer. To say I'm excited is an understatement! Lauren thank you also for your reply, I'm definitely looking forward to meeting all you guys and seeing just what can be done to the cars, I've already been reading up topics on this forum trying to learn more about the suspension setups and their pros/cons but you are right polishing my driving skills would be the best first step. We'll see how it goes I guess when I get the cat it'll go through a thorough clean/polish stage so that'll take me probably until the end of the month, next year is when I plan on the bigger stuff to happen 😊
  17. What is it like when driving at motorway speed cruising? Is there any drone? And I assume this is a cat-back system?
  18. With the previous car in white, winter meant: - Bodywork - A complete decontamination (bugs tar iron and general fallout) then stripping the waxes and sealants, quick buff over then last it was poor boys white diamond and extra **** shine glazes topped up with Soft99 Fusso and King of Gloss. - Windows - Received a polish with autoglym's glass polish then sealed with gtechniq all around - Wheels - full decontamination all around plus either a poor boys wheel sealant or later the gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour - Engine bay cleaned, polished with Meguiar's NXT Metal Polysh, plus All Black on all plastics. - Underbody/Wheel Wells - Car up on ramps, thorough wash out and them a general two/three coat with Bilt Hamber Dynax Hope this helps in some kind of way 👍

As requested, here's irene 😊 I'll take you up on that offer, anything other than a Toyota salesman in an automatic gt86 is better to see what the car is really like! I'm predicting some nice SW club meet coming next year what do you guys think? Igi

Thanks for all your replies everybody, I'm going to further stress this topic when I comes to heavily modifying the car. Don't get me wrong I love some turbo flutter as much as the next guy but I might stick to the NA route because not many people do. Lauren, first step in fact is the wheels (they look hideous if I'm honest) and probably lowering springs for now and since this is my first RWD I'm going to the it slow and first of all learn how to drive one. Steevo I'm from Cwmbran so not that far at all! Cheers guys!
