Sounds right. My 4th year service came in at about £340 at main dealer.

I don't know for sure but would have thought the housing angle itself would have to be slightly different since they would be designed to be viewed when seated on the opposite side of the car.

Is it common to be asked one question or the other now as I am sure I normally get asked something along the lines of "Have you had an accident or made a claim in the last x years whether your fault or not"

Please don't take this the wrong way but the prices don't seem to be that excessive to me bearing in mind your age, experience and accident history. As Samwise said "statistically quite a few 86's get written off" and I suspect most of them were being driven by experienced drivers.

TRD special edition is priced at $32420 so approx £24650. Cheapest base model 86 in the states is $26455 (£20100), however those prices don't include state sales taxes which I think vary according to where car is registered

I understand what you are saying about the aftermarket stuff but Toyota don't make any extra profit out of those sales. I would have thought an upgraded performance version would mean Toyota could benefit from the extra spend which people are happy to hand over to independents. Perhaps emission regulations, type approval etc don't make it viable.

Great day at Goodwood thanks to Keith.

I do wonder about the quality of some replacement screens. I had a chip too large to repair so the screen was replaced but I rejected it due to a strange pattern on the passenger side in sunlight and a speck of dirt in the screen in my eye line. Next replacement not fitted and rejected due to surface scratches. Next replacement not fitted due to distortion in the lower part of the screen. Finally had a genuine OEM screen fitted which was perfect

Current plan is to think about upgrading to the 2nd gen depending on what it's like (probably not if the front looks anything like that HV concept thing and it's auto only ) else keep it till it dies.

I also normally reverse into parking spaces but since learning of this feature have found it really useful. Where I live there is no street lighting and little light pollution so I simply drive into my drive and flick the lights stalk giving me time to walk to the front door.

Well I never knew that, nice feature. Thanks for sharing
