"Euro Car Parts" 0W-20 Petronas Syntium 7000 (5 LITRE). Offer Possibly to good to be true ! Having purchased items from 'Euro Car Parts' online I regularly receive emails with offers that I often delete without seeing what promotions they are sending me. However, today I let curiosity take over and decided to see if there were any offers on 0W-20 oil having previously purchased Petronas oil from them. I did a search for solely 'Petronas oil' on their website and right at the bottom without a product picture there it was "PETRONAS 0W-20" (FIVE LITRE) at a price I thought was surely a mistake! The "part number" is that shown below and YES the price shown was genuinely £7.69. Better still there was a further promotion of 30% off price shown obtained by inputting the code "SALE30" at the online payment checkout which further reduced the price to a mere £5.38. I thought this seems TO GOOD TO BE TRUE but placed my order and to my surprise it went through, so naturally I thought I might as well buy a spare or two ,,,OR THREE etc ! So rather than keep this find all to myself I pass it on to other Forum members who may or may not be interested and/or be just as lucky !!! Regards celicaboy, now of the BRZ bloodline The oil specification is SAE 0W-20, API SN, ILSAC GF-5 521773332 (Online Product Code) Petronas Syntium 7000 0W-20 - 5ltr £7.69 Subtotal £7.69 Coupon Benefit: (30% Off Online - Ends Soon..) -£2.31 Delivery Charge (Economy) £0.00 Grand Total £5.38

Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)

Hi gazza82 and all, ,,,its amazing what actions a trader "Carpart4less" will take in order to appear Concerned and Shocked by what could have been viewed as an honest and simple mistake yet they elect to turn into a total farce thus highlighting a level of incompetence. Any 'motor factor' company that cannot tell the difference between a "ONE" litre and a "FIVE" litre container of oil AND requires a "photo" of such in order to so is obviously in need of much more than a photo ! Of course it would be great if they do honour as well as acknowledging their mistake AND i hope they do , I'm just saying that putting up a woeful pretence by asking for photos is a bit of a joke ! gazza82, hopefully you have a photo of the courier and their van making the delivery too so they can also see how the package was delivered and inform the warehouse of that by visual representation also !! Let us know how you get on and its fingers crossed for ya' -

Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)

,,,nikndel, I phoned the "Customer Services" number shown on the invoice, and no doubt you too will be given a pre prescribed script about an error and then be given the option to return your unwanted albeit actually "misdescribed" order for a refund ! (in my personal opinion and I see that of others too its better to simply buy enough to cover a 'boxer' oil change as the offer is ultimately still quite favourable) . -

...Cheers Minion , I thought that I was going to be hunted down and have my BRZ seized by angry/ irate Forum Members holding one litre bottles of oil in their clenched fists. I even dreamt that I would later regain consciousness only to have my BRZ returned with just 'ONE' litre of oil in its engine and be made to drift it into oblivion until it goes pop in front of you all and then have my membership revoked ,,AND so I hope other forum members share your compassion & thoughts ! .celicaboy -
Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)
celicaboy replied to celicaboy's topic in News & Updates
Hi' all, I guess me initially starting off this thread entitled, "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" was quite apt in the end. OPOLOGIES to all those who are aggrieved having received ONE litre and NOT FIVE litres as the Euro Car Parts offer in their advertisement clearly stated ! I suspect that the Company have chosen NOT to honour their mistake due to the number of orders they had received for the product in question which they sell at around £55 to £60 making it too large a loss for them to carry in their eyes. HOWEVER, keeping the offer going after they should/ must have realised the error is not as forgivable on the basis the order confirmations/ invoices they emailed out clearly state 'FIVE' litres and they seem to have made no attempt to advise those who had placed orders of their error and instead simply sent out one litre consignments under the illusion that folk somehow would not notice . Even though £5 a litre it is still a good price for this overall spec of fully synthetic oil, it is not what was advertised, ordered, invoiced and without explanation dispatched, so, SHAME ON THEM !!! .celicaboy -

.....to bring the price down even more MAYBE the Forum Members could just buy the Petronas 0W-20 refinery and simply do en-mass oil changes on our 'boxer's' wherever the refinery is based ! -
Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)

Hi all (zhuonanli), The quality is top spec (SN, GF-5) and is their premium '7000' range product and is manufactured by Petronas and not a third party. They are a motor oil producer who have their R&D aided by their involvement in the premier of motor sports (Formula One) and Lewis Hamilton in his Petronas sponsored Mercedes team make no complaint ,,,THEN AGAIN, Lewis runs a 1.6 whilst our TOYOBARU's are 2.0 cc . Halfords now stock Petronas Oils BUT i woulnt buy it at their price ! .celicaboy -
Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)

Hi' all, I too received that first e-mail and like rob275 suspected that it may have been a mistake and they would back out of it and my order would not be honoured. However, I too then received a further email that basically stated my order would be sent but within a slightly longer timeframe of 12 -15 days. I received a further promotion from Euro Car Parts yesterday evening which still included my self termed "Too Good To Be True" offer. SO, all those who have not yet placed orders its definitely worth considering before no doubt someone out there cleans up all the stock ,,,ummm' I guess my mouth is too big to be a shrewd buisnessman hence my initial post on this subject blabbing so that others could capitalise too ! Happy to see other members have also taken advantage of the offer !!! .celicaboy ,,,now of the BRZ bloodline ! -

Euro Car Parts - Petronas Oil (too good to be true)

Hi SimonB95, yeah that is the one and it is suitable for our TOYOBARU's, I put the oil specification in the initial post to assist the "oil-heads" out there such as myself who like to know both the rating "0W-20" and spec. It seems like gazza82 has found a great deal on the oil at Carparts4less too, it therefore appears to be a genuine offer by the companies concerned to clear just "0W-20" stock which just so happens to be our boxer's favoured tipple. The Euro Car Parts offer is still being shown today at that same amazing price ! -
Hi' to all, Have been surfing the web and car specific Forum/s for a couple of months now and have had the BRZ for around a month and in that time i've rediscovered something that regrettably manufacturers have been actively engineering and designed out of modern cars since the mass conception of Front Wheel Drive, i.e FUN ! I admit that as individuals we all enjoy the comfort, security and predictability from a comfy armchair at home BUT as an enthusiast that does not translate into us wanting to have that same comfy send me to sleep ambience and feel when wanting to feel alive and directly in involved when in pursuit of a satisfying driving experience. ...Hence BRZ & GT86 great to see the spirit re-born and as a result I too have been !! . Anyway, I traded in my RCZ (200 THP) in for the BRZ and I've no regrets, what I have lost from not having a turbo induced 200 HP on boost I have more than gained in overall driving satisfaction and feel ,,plus if i want forced induction I know its readily available and know there are owners/ members that have gone that route as part of their mods. I'm sure that joining and being part of this Forum will only enhance my ownership experience which is already high regardless of the RETRO Clarion head unit that Subaru chose to fit for reasons known only to them and the Clarion Archive Dept. GT 86 owners I will give you that one ! Celicaboy

...thanks for the welcome, ,,i agree with you about the standard speakers which must cost more than a few pence each BUT not that much more than fitting a cheap decent off the shelf variant from any of the mainstream manufacturers that either Subaru or Toyota must command much buying power from in the first place. As for the 'Clarion' I wouldn't have even thought that they would even be manufacturing such a retro model nowadays so they must simply be leftover stock from back in the day and not fit enough to be incorporated in any other Subaru or marque. Even the manufacturers upgrade is laughable for the price they charge ,,then again thats standard motor industry practice ! The important thing is the car is great and thats what I test drove not the head unit ! My other love is a Daytona 675 and when out and about have been keeping a lookout for other BRZ & GT86 enthusiasts in Kent. As an aside "46" on pole for Montegi is just what the Dr ordered ...YES .celicaboy
