So much want but such bad timing :-( Do they require bigger wheels? -
Interesting thread as I am in the same boat. GT86 for me is also a road car with a few track days a year. Run Ebaich springs and stock dampers at present which I am happy with but after the last few track days and going out on circuit in other peoples 86's with coilovers there is a noticeable improvement in the damping so I think I will head that way myself. @George from my bum dyno testing the Teins on a gt86 feel as close as you can get to stock suspension ride wise. If not slightly better. I also come from a Honda background and can confirm they ride a lot smoother and softer then the Miester R and HSD monopros I had on my EP3 over its life time. Also I would be impressed if anyone is having trouble with RBF fluid in a NA GT86 on track. I just use a good quality fluid and change it often and have had zero trouble

Ah my thread has been brought back to life. Fyi I got the TD na pack and am happy with the decision. After a few track days with it fitted I am happy with the power for now as it has made enough of a difference to stock to make it more fun and drivable.

After many emails harassing various tuning companies I have finally settled on using tuning developments to do some work on my car. I am just stuck with what route to take Currently a stock Gt86 with chassis mods only. It is a weekend only road car that sees a few track days a year. >NA tune package - no more torque dip, should be a vast improvement for not too much outlay and a good stepping stone. >turbo package - will probably end up here at some point and they have offered me a great deal on a drive in and drive out service including oil cooler, baffled sump and a few extras that I would need to make the car suitable for track use. Can always step up to the turbo setup in the future but its about a grand more to do it this way. So could be a waste if I am going to do it anyway... argh decisions decisions haha Anyone done the route of having both types of setup? Would be very interested to hear your thoughts.

Mine was in a corsa GSI. I know the C16xe particularly had a reputation as I believe something was undersized. Mine was a later one with a X16xe and was still terrible and a bit smokey. had the piston rings done and full rebuild and it still drunk afterwards. Still had a soft spot for that car though and you hardly see any now!
-
From past experience the Vauxhall x16xe was also a drinker. I started buying cheap supermarket oil to cut the cost down
-
Always checking mine especially during track days. Still only ever added about 250ml over the course of 4 years of ownership. Coming from Honda ownership where under heavy use you could do a litre in one track day is a change.

Bit of an odd one this. @willfmair and I got talking and he posted some videos of online reviews of the GT86 for a few years back. Now the car in the video has my registration but is red. Where as mine is Orange?? Any idea what Toyota do with their press cars? I went to the launch of the Honda FK2 civic type R a few years back and was told by the guys there that the initial press cars are scrapped after they have served their purpose. Is this the same with Toyota and they have just applied the same reg to another car afterwards? Car came to me via a Toyota dealership and I even did my own HPI etc and it all came back as complete and it been orange.... Ah yer there she is what a slut deffo gets around! Although has that video got a weird filter on as it's the wrong colour???

Recall issued on cars to have valve springs replaced 2012-2013
gavin_t replied to Lauren's topic in Mechanical
Hmmm interesting, maybe more widespread then initially thought. Have to wait and see what the outcome is when they start calling cars in. Although as @sam534 has said it seems strange, maybe that is just an added layer of security since this has all come to light to avoid confusion. -
2018 Black Friday Deals From Tuning Developments
gavin_t replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
From been a passanger in @VAD17 car I would say it is quieter on cruise then my NA tuned car with a stock catback. To me his car sounds like a nice factory turbo car that you could buy out of the showroom. Maybe a bit quite for some but I quite like it.- 23 replies

Review- GT86 Club Series Blue Edition with Performance Pack
gavin_t replied to Lauren's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Nice read thanks for sharing. New wheels look miles better too. Shame they didn't lower the offset a little. Would look so much better. Although I am sure there is a reason for this. Plus at standard ride height the high offset isn't as noticeable.- 12 replies
