Welcome aboard Do you have a car yet or are still shopping for one?
-
Good to hear it is going in the right direction with them footing the bill. As for the time scale once you have a courtesy car the ball is in your court as you have an asset costing them money as has been said above. When I had trouble with my recall I already had their new Lexus demonstrator luckily. So it was a good bargaining chip

I see Chris is busy doing doughnuts in it 😂 @Lauren you know what to do.... https://www.facebook.com/393436180817481/posts/1709271342567285/?sfnsn=scwspmo

Good choice, circuit pack is a must obviously. Shame you can't spec both packs really in my opinion. Didn't realise there was two options on the white. I think flat white probably suits the car better. I am sure it will be worth the wait. Will be a nice exclusive car too as I doubt even with all the raving reviews they will sell too many. But then as they are not been built on mass and not for profit I shouldn't think that really matters. Nice to have something exclusive that will also hold value and command the future classic tag line.

Ah yes I watched a couple of video reviews last night and they said its those colours only as you say. Must be my dodgy NHS monitor at work Personally I quite like red, although the white mates the lines and features more prominent. @Lauren you keeping on the white theme? Only bit of styling I am not 100% on is the rear wheel arch flares but I reckon its probably something that looks a lot better in person. The rest of the looks especially the front is I see Chris Harris just posted a picture of one on a country road saying "sensational little scamp and shames modern super cars" So assume he likes it and hopefully has a video review on the way

Read the pistonheads article at lunch time today. They seem to love it. Going to make time to watch some of the video reviews at some point. Hopefully Mr Harris or Catchpole will appear with a review soon ^^ looks lovely in orange in the video still above

Any experience with Primacy 4 (or other lower grip tyres)?
gavin_t replied to itsuki's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Yer looks spot on that. Hard to say with all tyres as one manufactures 225 is very different to another's. Good to see the tyre we are discussing on a 7.5j wheel. Will be lighter too -

I think 7.5 will be fine with a 225 tyre. Would maybe sit slighter squarer and give better feel on an 8. Although if there is a wheel you like in 7.5 it will be fine also I think 225 wide tyres on an 8 inch wheel is the sweet spot for the NA car. I agree with @martinT that a bit of extra grip does unlock more of the cars chassis potential. -

Glad to hear it was of some help. What size wheel are you fitting? V105 are quite resilient to abuse on road and track for a road tyre too -
I am not good with colours, what do you get if you mix blue and pink, Green? if they are both a compatible SLLC I presume its just the dye and they will mix ok?
-
The green colour is a bit of a concern, unless that is just the colour it has turned after partly evaporating? The Toyota long life coolant is light blue in colour and a pre-mixed item. I have a bottle of it at home after I had to top mine up. If it was serviced by a main dealer this is 100% what they should have put in if they topped anything up for any reason. Wonder if any other Toyota models use any other types of coolant? Either way I would be expecting them to be helping investigate if the issue arose after a service. As Lauren said getting home shouldn't be an issue either as a courtesy car should be given.

Another happy V105 user here.... Went from stock primacy tyres on the OEM wheels to some Yokohama V105 in 225/40-18 on my new wheels and haven't looked back and I am on my 3rd set of V105 now Can still swing the back out if you provoke it, takes a little more effort but the way the tyres behave is so much better. The breakaway is very progressive and gives you a lot more trust in what the car will do. The primacy was more grip followed by VERY sideways all or nothing. These are much more predictable and therefore fun Was tempted to jump on the Michelin PS4 bandwagon last time I needed new rubber but decided "if it aint broke don't fix it" and just got another set. -
To be fair my idea of time scales and dates ended around March time this year 😂😂
-
Yes the lockdown won't help. Good luck though and I hope you get something sorted. June 2019 was very early for a recall. Must have been one of the first!

@DKG if they have had the engine out for what ever reason it is worth contacting them. Also if you have any paper service history have a good look through that as I found some of the online stuff was not as detailed as the paper copies in the case of my car. I had a personal experience of an issued that Toyota GB helped me with after a bit of back and forth chat. Essentially mine went in for the valve recall and during this they found one of my camshafts was damaged due to oil starvation. After combing thought the service history for my car I found Toyota had the engine out a few years prior. Managed to pin the problem back to them blocking the camshaft oiler with sealant debries when they resealed the engine back then. Toyota then agreed to pay for most of the repair costs of my engine. and this was from work they had done >12 months prior and before I owned the car. Although the ball was admittedly in my court at this point as they had my car in for a free recall and then had my car in bits taking up their space demanding over 2k I didn't want to give them So certainly worth contacting the dealer and Toyota GB for discussion. Nice well worded and polite conversations via phone and email may get you a good result. Would be also good to know if wasn't related to a valve problem that would have been due a recall.
-
As I am sure you are aware don't try and start it again until the diagnosis is complete. If it has had the valve recall done there is a 12month warranty given on the work. I confirmed this with them when I had the recall done on mine in march. So you should get in touch with the dealer that carried out the work and go from there, Other people have had success with Toyota playing ball and covering the issue. I presume you have paperwork from the previous owner? If not create a my Toyota account. With the reg and VIN you can look up the full history of work with Toyota electronically. Might be worth going straight to Toyota if possible as they may be funny if someone else works on the car on the interim. Good luck

What width and offset are they?
-
I think they do more options then what Tegiwa list, the contact I mentioned above has more options I am sure. As I am sure last time I saw him he had a gold set on his Megane in 18
-
@mcdude if you are interested in a set let me know. The place I was in talks with about a set can beat Tegiwa's price Keep meaning to grab myself a set but I think I am going to spend my pennies on a set of AP brakes first.
-
I agree there, mine are 10kg on the nose which is a little heavy. It is slightly noticeable but not night and day. If I was choosing a set off of the shelf I would certainly go for the lighter option. I got mine second hand just to try some 18's so went with what was available at the time and the weight hasn't bothered me too much in that time. I do keep looking at other options though and my short list is currently a set of pro track wheels or some Autec wizards. Both of which are nice and light, come in 18's and are not overly pricey considering the quality. https://protrackwheels.com/en/wheels/street/one https://autec-wheels.de/en/design-program/type-w-wizard-gunmetal-matt.html

Brentwood and Braintree seem to be a Blue BRZ hotspot then, must be breeding I use 225/40-18 V105's Drives nice and would be spot on for an 8J wheel too. Think I have some pictures at home of when the car was on those wheels on stock suspension and on 20mm springs, I will see if I can dig them out. reminds me I need to advertise the springs for sale to get rid of them out the spare room
-
I will echo the above. 18x8 et35 for sure. May look slightly too far out at first on stock suspension but once lowered slightly 20mm and with a slight bit of camber they will look spot on. If you get the et45 you would probably which you can the extra 10mm of spacing at this point. haven't got any decent pictures to hand at the moment to show the fitment of mine but mine are 8.5 wide and et38. therefore stick out slightly more. No rubber has ever been found on road or track PS see you are in Brentwood, have we met at the cars and coffee in Maldon before?

Yes I had the ticket but didn't realise you had to click the link to get the club stand pass Cheers @VAD17 See you all sunday, weather is looking good too!
-
Cheers for the update @VAD17 and co As @maurice said restrictions don't start until Monday officially so this show should be going ahead as normal, unfortunately it might be the last event for a while Did anyone get a club pass in their email? Can't see anything in my inbox yet but will check my work email as I can't remember which one my MSV account goes to.

I didn't get much info back from Simon when I enquired he just said to keep an eye out for further correspondence. Anyone heard anything? Just if I need to print anything like stand passes I need to do it before I leave work on Friday
