Looks a great bit of kit, would be interesting to see what it would make on a built engine Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

HKS Supercharger failed after less than 10k miles

I was not questioning that you had a failure, I was asking you to backup your statement that the design was flawed by giving some actual technical detail of the poor design, rather than making a sweeping statement with no detail like you did in your first post. If you part out, talk to me about turbo kit! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Almost sounds like a creaking to me? Is the car stock? I had a similar noise from my seat ibiza and was caused by the springs coming out of their perch, the noise was the spring rotating on the perch.. Really the only things which break or wear out are Bushes Wheel bearing Top mounts Some cars have seperate bearings between the top mounts and shock The spring itself Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Feel for you bud... I would get it to abbey, fensport or tuning developments etc who know what they are talking about and have experience repairing these engines. 8k must be the price of a crate engine right? You need the engine inspected once apart to understand whats caused the issue as well. Worst case new shortblock is about 1.8k from fensport, providing you can reuse alot of your parts it might take the sting out of it. Also depending on your plans and budget if youre rebuilding the engine do you slip in some stronger rods or FI. Ok, maybe that last bit was my man maths coming out! Does it still use the donut gasket? If so you will need spring bolt, if its just a flaaaannnnge you can use normal bolts with the necessary washers. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Sounds like your steering wheel angle sensor, do you have access to a ECUtek dongle? If you do you can see the steering angle and see if its out. Mine was out after a poor alignment and caused CEL, TS and ABS lights to come on after driving for a bit Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

What is wrong with the design? Not really a fair cop making accusations without some sort of detail! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk -

Well it's about time I started a thread for my 86, I have been too busy enjoying the car to get enough time in front of a keyboard! Previous car was a 380 bhp RX7 and before that it was a 350z HR, so the 86 had alot to live up to ! The spec of the car is: HKS V2 GT Supercharger HKS Stroker 2.1l Forged crank and Piston Kit Gram light 57Xtremes Alloy Wheels with AD08 tyres HKS Hypermax IV GT Coilovers HKS V Camshaft Intake and Exhaust Kit HKS Lega Max Sports Exhaust HKS LA Clutch R Spec Cat Front pipe and Silencer STI Brembo Big Brake Kit Front HKS FCON IS Telemetry ECU HKS Type S Pro SC Oil Cooler HKS Exhaust Manifold Updated Fuel Pump & Injectors Uprated Valve Springs ARP Main Block Bolts Front Carbon Ducts Ducktail Spoiler ARP Head Bolts HKS Metal Head Gaskets Overpipe RB26 Main Bearings Plug M-HL Spec 10 Plugs HKS Billet Oil Filler Cap Telemetry Display Kit HKS Air Filter HKS Super Hybrid Oil Filter HKS DMR Car is running 330 at the rears dyno proven and is a scream to drive. Since having the car I have made a few changes more down to my own personal preference. I will add these to this thread shortly. I plan to run the car mainly as a fast road car with a few track days each year. Also quite simply, I love a bit of JDM! Speaking of track days, here are a few pics from my first trackday at Snetterton. The car is already very well setup so its just a case of me learning more about the car and tweaking from there. You do indeed make your own choices, we have now got a 1 year old and I am the main earner for the family so my Mrs wants me to do TDs in bubble wrap! Its annoying as its a subject I am finding hard to research as its all driven by info thats being repeated - if you have a harness you must have a cage. Well not all cars roofs are the same, the distance between your head and the roof is not the same, cars weigh different amounts etc etc. I know a cage covers you in a rollover but comes with other compromises. I suspect I will get the same harness as you Lauren, all the TD's I have done, no one has ever rolled their car... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

So I was doing some digging - basically working out if I need a cage with a harness in the event of a roll over. There is a company in the states who have tested the roof strength. http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/vehicle/v/scion/fr-s-2-door-hatchback/2013 It seems it takes 5 times the vehicles weight before the tested area of the roof crushes down 5 inches. A video of the test can be found here. https://youtu.be/vvIdplmlqncg Any amazing mathematicians know what kind of forces the roof is subjected to in a rollover at different speeds? I am tempted, I saw your post on fb about them. I then spoke to Schroth direct but think I got someone on the evening shift... I will enquire through their website, I dont daily the car... its a toy so I dont mind the hassle of a cage but no one does one without drilling or welding the car. I have found one in the states which fits the bill but I am having difficulty convincing them to post to the UK. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

Anyone here fitted a TRD front bumper and skirts to their car? I am thinking of adding these to mine.... Also last trackday I was getting chucked about the cabin, so time for harnesses and buckets I feel but I would need a half cage. Anyone on here running a half cage? Couple of cheeky videos I had lying about Me getting annoyed at a Boxster (had already overtaken him in previous sessions and he never wanted to let me past!) When Hondas go bad Chasing down E92 M3 In terms of updates on the car not a huge amount to report, re-setup my suspension geo, reduced my rake abit and added a adjustable rear ARB to help cure some mid corner understeer. Car handles spot on now and is very adjustable at the limit. At the stage now where I think I will start booking some tuition and I need some guidance to unlock more speed.
