Welcome from the shadows! What is this 10 year registration issue just out of interest? I'm not sure why an IVA test would be an issue? Sure a mph speedo and rear foglight will be needed, but other than that you should be okay. I guess it will time to find a 14R given how rare they are and will be interesting to see for what kind of price in 10 years time.

Toyota have relaxed the rules on servicing during the pandemic, so you could have stayed with the June date. So your warranty would not have been invalidated and they should have told you that. If you get it serviced at Subaru the then I can't see how Toyota could update the service record. Why not just wait till June and save the money? Also given you are on 58,000 miles you should get the spark plugs changed. I would check that is on the Toyota price.

Welcome aboard. Sound like some kind of nightmare. Plenty of cars available around that price point. Check out the buyers guide.

I replaced my battery back in November or so when I knew it was getting weak. I've only started my car twice in the last month and driven around 50 miles on the two times I've used the car for work. No problems here. Left it for 16 days before starting a week ago. If your battery isn't lasting okay and is dying in a week or two it's time for a new battery. Modern cars are far more fickle than older cars when it comes to the state of the battery.

Wow, Barry, this is an impressive build! Loving your attention to detail, great job. When we do eventually get to the other side with all the C19 stuff, do you think you will be over to the UK? I only ask as this would be a great car to see and I was thinking you may get bored of just driving Mondello. Over here we have so many fab tracks to drive. Was also going to ask if you do intend to race or sprint it as would be good to see what it could do in competition, rather than just touring a track on track days. Keep up the good work, it has been a fascinating thread. 🤙

I put my TEINS on at around 25K miles. Had a CV joint start clicking at 60K miles. Had that replaced and done 90K miles since. Not had further issues with CV joints. Probably drop links, but wait for it to get worse, then you'll know.

Japfest Silverstone Sunday 3rd May 2020 - POSTPONED
Lauren posted a calendar event in Official Club Events
Generally our first and usually our biggest gathering of Toyota GT86's and Subaru BRZ's for the year! I'm sure you all won't want to miss out on this one! One year we saw 86 cars on our stand which was quite a feature! We look forward to welcoming the regulars aswell as the new people we have taken on over the past year. We will have our usual day before gathering at a hotel which will be the Hilton Double tree again as per last year. There are cheaper hotels, but this can certainly squeeze us in regardless of numbers. Date: Sunday 3rd May Location: Silverstone Circuit Hotel for 2nd May: Premier Inn Milton Keynes south west Furzton lake MK4 1GA https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/search.html?searchModel.searchTerm=Shirwell Crescent, Furzton, Milton Keynes MK4 1GA, UK&PLACEID=ChIJrUfHbFVVdkgRQPetFkIm65A&ARRdd=18&ARRmm=12&ARRyyyy=2019&NIGHTS=1&ROOMS=1&ADULT1=1&CHILD1=0&COT1=0&INTTYP1=DB&BOOKINGCHANNEL=WEB&SORT=1&VIEW=2 Please put your names below if you will be attending and whether you will be at the hotel the night before. We are currently in discussions with the venue and will release a date for the event in the near future. We would like to thank the support of our venue partners at Silverstone Circuit, our customers, clubs, traders and sponsors for their patience and understanding at this time. All existing bookings will be carried forward to the rescheduled date. We advise ticket holders to check our social media pages, the Japfest website and their inbox for updates in the upcoming weeks. -
The trouble is they are not actually that light. Could have told you that light weight 17's will feel better. Might be worth considering more stock tyre sizes as 245s and added wheel width will add a lot of unsprung weight.

It's supposed to do it, so that thieves can see it's got an immobiliser. Mines always done it. It will do it after a time out after the ignition is turned off. I am pretty sure you would invalidate your insurance if you disarmed the immoboliser, it is there there to prevent your car being stolen. Not sure why you would worry about a flashing light. There is another by the boot release for the alarm. It shouldn't bleep at you, unless you have a door open. Maybe look up the alarm codes for the keypad?
-
It's the immobiliser. It's always done it.

Welcome aboard, plenty of info and tons of experience here. What are your plans?
-
They certainly do.

Welcome aboard, Ben. This years events look like it may well be decimated. We shall see of course. We've got a Yorkshire meet coming up Sunday meet, but not sure it will go ahead given what is going on. Keep an eye on the social meets.
-
Maybe its the oil passing through the turbo?
-
We can wait a week. It may be inevitable but may as well wait and see. It could be that the venue closes due to it.
-
I can delete it, but you could just edit it, probably easier.
-
There's a full 20 minute version of that vid somewherefor the obsessed! 🤣
-
You can put it up for a higher price but I'll bet that won't transfer to higher second hand values, when people know the cars were the same price as the GT up until this point if that article is correct.
-
That looks good.
-
What a relief, it can do doughnuts! 😂 Doesn't sound too bad either. https://youtu.be/bHoN-3TArLQ

Welcome aboard. Enjoy.

Great stuff, Mike. Will do my absolute best to be there. Really enjoyed it last time. Really liked the last venue, an hour away was fine for me. Only thing I would say, is a less child friendly pub may be a better option. But Bradford location wise was good for distance.
-
Indeed, exactly this. Trouble is for me, the running costs of a V8 would be high, given I like to spend a lot of time in my cars. A V8 could only be an occasional use car for me. Can run the Yaris like I have the GT86 given it's a similar price and ought to have similar running costs.

Looks like the new Yaris (all of them) will have a HUD:
