Well you can drive with heavy wheels if you want, but he was asking about lighter wheels. Heavy wheels are never good though.

To give a more full explanation, an 'MOT' is the UK test of a car for roadworthiness and must be carried out every year on a car that is three years old or more. Emissions (hence the comments), safety and roadworthiness are all checked.

Only Adrian at Fensport has a car that is developing that kind of power (581bhp), so maybe he's a good bet to speak to about it?

Yep, think if you can get no more than the relatively heavy stock wheels, then you'll be fine, but if you see wheels that are 10kg and more, probably best avoided.
-
Kev, ginger was never a good starting point, at least you've got far more options with a red one now.
-
It depends upon width of course, wider is heavier. An ideal weight is as light as possible. You'll do well to get under 8kg though.

Looks good to be fair, obviously much better than green on orange, but no suprise there. I think it's good that you've done something different. White can take whatever lairy wheel colour you throw at it.

Yes they make a big difference on snow. The only thing is, it hardly ever snows and even if it does, it's at best two hours of inconvenience where I live. If you drive regularly up in the hills where snow is a big factor, they they'll be worth it. But if you don't...

Do let us know how you get on with them. I have been driving 28 years (well nearly 29 seeing as people post this stuff) and tried out winter tyres for two winters running on my GT86. Whilst they were amazing on the handful of occasions there was five minutes of snow and good when it was below freezing, I found them a liability the rest of the time and would have preferred to have been on regular tyres. I found it also meant that on a sunny winters day when temperatures were at their usual 7C and above, I couldn't have any fun in the car, as it was nowhere near as sharp as it would have been on what I usually run. Last year I ran a mix of Yokos at the front and Contisport Contact 5's on the rear. This was due to needing a set quickly and I wanted to give the Contis a go. I found it was fine, though I had one occasion where I had to drive in snow and it was a nightmare, though I managed to avoid getting stuck with some serious clutch kicking. I could have done with the winter tyres for those 20 minutes where I was at a serious disadvantage. But for me, on balance it just isn't worht it as it hardly ever snows in Manchester and temperatures are rarely below freezing. But if I lived in the Lakes or the Peak district or North Wales etc, I'd definitely fit them.

No ebay links, price and pics please. The spring rate will be 6/4kg.

It doesn't really matter, it's not like you can add a huge amount of weight. 35 psi will be fine.

For sale: OS Giken 1.5 way SuperLock LSD

Please add pics. Might be worth saying what mileage it has done. -
Can you put the stock belt on and lose the supercharger and just run it NA? Speak to Mark in the morning, send him an email with the vid, see what he says? That's what I'd do and just hit the gin etc in the meantime.

Maybe a bearing or something. Not advisable to drive it. Well, I wouldn't. But that's just a barely educated guess. Better to be on the safe side and to be fair, it doesn't sound good.

A good meet today and a good turn out. Nice to meet new member, James and plenty of talk about mods ensued of course! It's a nice pub with a fabulous view over Manchester and the food was alright too. We should definitely do more of them. Huge thanks to Neal for organising it.

Pretty sure it's the top one. It looked obviously like it when mine was apart this week. The top bolt is chamfered and is designed so that an adjustable camber bolt can go in there. I have coilovers with adjustable pillowball top mounts so no need for camber bolts for me. Nice drive out by the looks of it.

Stan on his sprint car had his stalk mounted sticking up out of the centre console, so he could change maps. It wasn't pretty though.
-
Ah, okay, that makes sense now.
-
I would also add that with just the three button press you can hold the car at any angle you like. Even if EBD is doing something under trail braking, it doesn't seem to be any hinderance for getting the car to do what you want it to do.

I think Rob's comment is a reference to Vanko being in Manchester on the the week beginning the14th, i.e., two weeks time, so the 19th. If so we could potentially do something. If Rob does mean that, then yes, he is welcome to stay at mine. We have a guest room etc. But, I need Rob to clarify!
-
Yep, not sure what Rob means.
-
Never done the pedal dance. I'm fine with the ABS continuing to work, it has it's uses. As for EBD, not an issue really. I rely on trail braking and don't find EBD intrusive.
-
I would do Rob, but I've got Mark's mum over from Spain for a week.
-
Yes, we are planning to.

Add a high flow catalyst? Abbey do them. You can remap it at the same time. Should help the drivability and throttle response as well as a small increase in power.
