I wouldn't trust 'tyrereviews.co.uk' though. Sometimes that can mean a sample of a handful of people. Most have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to tyres either. The problem with tyres always remains about what reviews to value and all that.

Speak to Riceburner on here. He can get a good price on the Yokos.

I've honestly never driven on track without everything turned off. However, I use sport mode on the road all the time. the answer is, if you drive within the limits of grip and not the slip angle of the tyres, they will not be a restriction at all. The problem comes when you drive in and beyond the slip angle of the tyres. Going quickly tends to hover in this area so, it will impede you under braking and particularly under power, though it does allow a very small amount of slip. Just not enough for what I want to do though.

I think you are likely the only person in the UK with that suspension setup. Do you know what the spring rates are? I'd say just run them at full soft and see what they are like then. But as others have said, check the ride height from the wheel centre to the wheel arch.

If you are looking second hand then you have the regular model which are far more abundant. Heated seats depend upon whether they were optioned or not. This is also true of the TRD and Aero models. Primo models are so rare that it is unlikely you will come across one, but it would make no sense to buy a Primo model as it's a more basic spec and you won't pay more really for the regular model. 'D-4S' is not a reference to the model as such. For reference it's worth holding out to find one with a good spec, the heated seats are nice whether you go for the half leather/alcantara or a car equipped with full leather. Other options are not so important really. There are paint options with red being a no cost option and white being the most expensive option due to it being pearlescent. Other options are satnav (the stock head unit is not very good though and the sat nav is not brilliant), reversing sensors and stripes and the like. There are a few special editions which had costmetic additions, such as the TRD, Blanco and Giallo. All GT86's have the same engine none of them had any performance mods as such. Post 2013 cars had Sachs dampers, but you'd probably be hard pressed to tell the difference. Obviously a good number of cars have been modified a bit, so you could look at one of those if that is what you want. Many have had aftermarket exhausts and some have had coilovers and remaps and the like.

Welcome back. Looking good. How are you finding the Litchfield 'handling kit'? I found it to be terrible (what were they thinking?) when I went out in a friends with it on. He ended up swopping it out for coilovers.

Looks like it's dog friendly as well, so we can bring Indy.

Thanks all that came for the northern curry night. Elvis was in the house, but fortunately we were as far away as possible. The usual good old banter was had and I stayed up till nearly 3am with Ross showing him N2 AE86 videos on Youtube. My head! We'll do another soon, now the dark nights are upon us.

Time for a curry as the nights are drawing in. Kev and Debbie are up at RRG, so it's only fair we show them our northern ways of a decent curry. Venue is Sangams in Heald Green: http://swadeshrestaurants.com/restaurants/sangam-heald-green 202 Wilmslow Rd, Heald Green, Cheadle SK8 3BH It's got a decent car park, so parking should not be an issue. I'm looking to book a table for 7.30pm. Please let me know if you are in! 1. Lauren 2. Mark 3. Kev 4. Debbie 5. Richard 6. Paula 7. Mike 8. Gaz 9. Sue 10. Ross 11. 12. 13. 14.

Yes, reckon we'd be up for that.

Good write up. Turning everything off is what you need to do though in order to learn how to control the car in a slide and work on recovery when you over-cook it. The car has a chassis that doesn't really bite, so it's a lot easier than some in that respect.

If you're about on Saturday, get yourself down to Walsall for the 'Midlands Meet'. Lots of modified GT's wil be there. See the 'Social Meets' section.
-
I'm not convinced about the chrome, no offence. Jealousy will get you nowhere, Sam.
-
Yep, welcome aboard! There are a number of us in the Manchester area. If you fancy coming to the curry, let me know, I'm sure we can squeeze another in.
-
Actually it's not good driving to be really hard on the brakes. If you jump on your brakes when you are approaching a corner it hugely unsettles the car. Better to squeeze the brakes and load them up in a progressive manner. You can be very quick without melting the brakes. I've only got Stoptech pads. I don't generally have a problem with brakes on track doing 10, maybe 15 minute sessions. Sure they're grumbling towards the end, but they're adequate. I find brakes last me very well, as I dont brake unnecessarily and use them as little as possible. You gain far more on track by your corner entry and exit speeds.
-
The problem is, you simply won't resolve the issues with stock pads. They will always squeal no matter what you do. If they are offering you £250 , then take it and spend it on aftermarket pads. Sorted.
-
That's okay, it's not a competition. I'm currently on 91K. Had it from new. I got 37K out of my first set of pads and discs.
-
Welcome aboard. There is honestly no way to cure the brake squeal with the stock pads. All the cars are the same. Toyota offer a softer pad which should help. Or do what most people do, fit aftermarket pads that do not squeal, like the Stoptechs. There is it seems no other way. Having the brakes cleaned and chamfered and all that is only ever a temporary solution. That said I did 60 odd thousand miles on stock brakes, you get used to the squealing after a time.
-
Just to add, let's meet in the bar area from 7pm.
-
I think the best cure is to stick a nice exhaust on it.
-
Okay sorted, got a private room booked, so away from Elvis!
-
Yes, I know and I absolutely hate Elvis. I will ask to be as far away as possible from that shite. There's a pub up the road (The Griffin) which is okay, or The Beech Tree (not been in there for years) pretty much 100m from my house.
-
Well, I would say you can log on with my Toyota, but no idea if Subaru have the same thing or not. That way you can view your entire vehicle history in terms of warranty and recall stuff online. I have a service book and that is stamped as well, but I do go to RRG Macclesfield of course.
-
Glad you got it sorted in the end.

I may come down on Saturday. Ross is staying at mine on the Friday night and he's intending to come to the meet. I'm on my way to London on the Saturday, so could do it on the way there. Will see what I can do.
