Consequences of impending nearby construction
Lauren replied to nerdstrike's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
About all you can do is wash it regularly. A couple of years ago, my parking at work was next to a multi-storey that was being demolished. My car was covered in dust day after day, it was a nightmare. -
I've been round as a passenger and had the opportunity to drive it, but didn't think it worth it tbh.
-
The UK has a huge motorsport history, so we have many circuits to drive. I've driven all but two (Llandow and Thruxton), but there really are some gems in the UK for sure. Cadwell Park, Croft, Donington Park and Oulton Park are the best IME.
-
Welcome aboard. Unlikely it seems there'll be those circuits on the TSS. Lydden is possible, but a long way for for those not in the south. Brands is too expensive really. The better circuits are in the north, though I would say. Good luck with the car, it's not too late to get paid up for JAE.

If it's any help, I run 2 degrees front, 1.75 rear. You'll want negative camber on the rears in any event, as it will all help. I run parallel toe front with less toe in on the rear (though annoyingly I don't have the exact spec for the rear). With these settings tyre wear will still be even across the tread. I've done 60k miles on these settings, including three Euro trips as well as competing in the TSS for three years. It works well for everything.

Sorted for you.

Ah what a shame, Joe. If you're anyway near Brugge and want to pop over for a beer, let me know. We're here till Wednesday.
-
Welcome aboard, Joe, car is looking good! I'm currently in Brugge on holiday (with my car). I was speaking to some of the Belgian guys on Facebook and they suggested that they will meet up with me on Tuesday as there is some big festival going on this weekend. If you're around I will let you know.
-
I'm currently in Brugge and there is just stuff everywhere. There is even 'pokestop corner' where there are three all together. Went up from level 6-9 yesterday. It makes a massive difference being in a city though, they literally are just everywhere. Pokemon corner in the Market square in Brugge:

I don't know anywhere in Norfolk, but there are a few members round that way.
-
Yep, concur with Rob. I've had worse than that repaired with a smart repair on my rear bumper. I reversed into a post! Worst, still, I have reversing sensors but chose to ignore them, thinking nothing was there. Now I know they work.

I think a high proportion of BRZ's sold are WR Blue.

Welcome, that is a long wait! Is it planned to wait that long or is that really the delivery time? 203 days!
-
No, you can have it on auto without the aircon running as you can in many cars. It will still try and maintain the temperature but obviously it can't cool the cabin without aircon on.

Guessing AP/TRD are better quality than K-Sport.

Retro Toyota Gathering Sunday 7 August Driftworks HQ Birmingham
Lauren posted a topic in Social Meets
Though this is a meet for pre-95 Toyotas. I'm going in my AE86 now the new suspension is. Can't wait. I'm not sure there will be AE86's everywhere, but I reckon we may make it 15, our record being 18 cars some five years ago! This event is not really aimed at the GT86, but if you'd like to see some very cool retro Toyotas this is the place to be. I'm sure the car park for the non-retro cars will be quite interesting too. http://birmingham.carpediem.cd/events/384763-retro-toyota-gathering-at-driftworks/ -

If it helps I have a 62 plate (2013) with 87K miles on it and the aircon works perfectly. I do run it constantly though. So it should definitely last. If you don't mind the trip to Macc, could be worth speaking to Riceburner (Richard) at RRG, to see what he says about it being a warranty claim. We'll meet you for curry etc, provide a room and all that.
-
He's got 245/40's hasn't he?
-
Ollie, I would think this is a warranty claim. I can't believe you took it to Kwik Shit.
-
Indeed. You have to master the art of trail braking first though.

Keith, I think you should base what you go on from experience, not how a car looks in the pitlane with balloon tyres on. I have no issues with travel with mine. A stiffer spring is not always the way to go. Mike has lower spring rates than your's but his was far, far better in every way. He easily has one of the best setups for track there from the cars I went in.
