I didn't really notice any as such, Kev. Though some have reported that.

Welcome aboard. When I saw the title, I was going to mention that Mark is in Stoke, but I see, you beat me to it!
-
Welcome aboard. I'm surprised you find the gearbox worse than an MR2. I've had a number of MR2's I should add. You could try the Whiteline bush that goes in the void in the bushing on the gearbox mount. About £30. It does make it a fair bit more positive. I had one fitted a couple of years ago. It's not a difficult job.

Welcome aboard! Plenty of info here, though you'll end up spending loads, I warn you. It's a good idea though just to leave it stock for a bit and get a feel for how the car is before you decide what you want to change.

Rob might be, he's the raver in the club, but I think most if not all are heading back on Sunday night and staying over on Saturday night.

I got a set of those plates fitted as well when my car was in a week or so ago. After I struck a pheasant on the way to Cadwell last November the front plate was looking a bit sorry for itself! Good improvement.

What's interesting is that I ummed and ah'd about it for three years! I too knew I wouldn't see a mega horsepower improvement and I've never believed Cosworth's claims of 230bhp or when people say you're going to get 220bhp. So I weighed it up and thought, well, it's just not worth it really. After a lot of thinking about it for a while longer, I thought I'd give it a go. Obviously I did it and in terms of extra power there isn't a huge amount. But, having said that the throttle response is just totally different from before. I never had an inkling that it would feel so flat going back to a map with stock throttle response, but blimey does it feel bad! I wanted to post up a big review of my experiences since the remap, but in the three days since I've had it done, I've done 2 miles to work and back each day. However, today I had a funeral to go to in Chorley which is a 70 mile round trip. I think Mark summed it up well from the passenger seat. He felt it was just so much smoother and whilst the increase in power doesn't make you go wow, the increased mid range where there's a 20lb/ft torque increase is certainly noticeable. I really think it would be hard to drive the car now on a stock map as the difference is far more marked than I initially believed it would be. So effectively, I'm suprised by the difference it has made. Sure it's £530, which is not an insubstantial amount of money, but I'm glad I've done it if that makes sense.

No way, though I did wonder what you were up to. I think the Aygo will be a bitter pill to swallow. Good luck with that. Hope we see you at some point!
-
It looks good but I'll bet the buffeting will be a nightmare. Had an MR2 with a t-bar which is similar and that was terrible. Never took the t-bars out unless I wanted an instant bad hair day.
-
Yes, I did check the reviews. Not terrible but nowhere near the best either. Personal choice and all that I guess.
-
Unusual choice of tyre. Not really heard of them.
-
LOL, I can't drink that stuff, Red Bull tummy and all that! I'll see what I can do, but I'm normally just dead by the time I've been racing all day and then drive home. May be able to meet on route, at the Cat or something, that might work.
-
8th May is the day after the Blyton Park sprint, which means I won't be up for an early start most likely. So maybe.
-
Looking good! The whole tyre painting thing seems to be coming back in! Not seen that for a while. What tyres are they?
-
That should be okay. Only caveat is that I need to get some work done on the AE86 prior to Japfest, but it's nothing major really, so should be okay.
-
Yes, maybe. Just thinking of getting the AE86 out of hibernation that weekend.
-
Ah I see. Well you may well still be okay with the second cat remaining. Guess you'll find out next year come MOT time.

The thing is, it shouldn't be any louder than mine really, considering you've still got both cats. The manifold itself shouldn't make a huge difference. Let's see what it's like at the meet on Sunday.

I bought some cheap alloy wheel nuts for my AE86 from Driftworks. Only £30. They are anodised. This has come off incredibly easily. On the other hand, I have steel Rays wheel nuts for my GT, which came in around £80 once I'd got them over from Japan. They've been subject to an airgun on many occasions. They've taken it rather well. So it's really a matter of you get what you pay for.
-
I honestly wonder if that's a hang up from driving laggy turbo F1 cars as it does look excessive at times.
-
It's standing 0.75m at an angle of 45 degrees away from the exhaust. Impressive sounds I must say!

Try and go for a decent steel wheel nut rather than anodised aluminium. The cheaper they are the worse they'll be in this respect.
