Welcome aboard. No huge spoiler does make a difference to the looks.

    Toyota S-FR coupe

Yeah, definitely homage to the Toyota Sports 800, which makes sense when you think about it, given the GT's homage to the 2000GT in respect of styling details.

I reckon the colour doesn't help, but otherwise I think there is some potential there.

    Toyota S-FR coupe

Just a concept though, but makes more sense in regard to using something akin to the MX5 platform as other rumours (which are all they are really) have said: http://blog.caranddriver.com/toyota-s-fr-concept-small-front-engine-rear-drive-sign-us-up/

    Bridgestone RE070 tyres

There will be too much flex with a 225 on a 7" rim. I reckon there is still too much for my liking on an 8" rim with that tyre size. I tried that last year and even with 94Y Advans I hated the flex. I tested Keith's 245's on an even wider rim, but the sidewall flex was not good either. So, you can put 225's on a 7" rim. Is it ideal? No? Some people say they like sidewall flex but it just muddies the feel and the response IMO. For example I run 215's on an 8" rim, it's very precise indeed. But these things do become a matter of preference.
  7. Actually you can put the windows up after you turn the engine off. They work for a set period about 30 seconds.

    Just sign the papers

Welcome aboard, David, have fun on Friday.
  9. Blimey, think yourself lucky Jordan it's 163 miles each way for me and I've just got in after a 180 mile 5 hour drive home from Reading after a week at work! Lightweight! I reckon I'll be there around midday. Balls to getting up at stupid o'clock. Been doing that all week.

    Petrol question

Use V-Power Nitro, wherever you can. It's the best fuel due to the detergents. I won't use supermarket fuel in my car. In 72K miles I've never resorted to 95 i.e. regular unleaded. I'll use BP if I can't find V Power but not Momentum. Get the drivers club thing with Shell and you get vouchers. I get Waitrose vouchers as they have a good selection of gin.
  11. Not much help, but my expensive Rays wheel nuts which are steel have lasted well without any real issue. On my AE86 I bought some cheap anodised nuts and they are pretty bad already. The cheap ones were £30 the Rays one around £70.
  12. I'll be there late morning. It's a 160 miles after all. Any idea where the White Horse is and if it's dog friendly as we will have Indy with us.

    3" exhaust questions

Try http://www.jpexhausts.co.uk Yes I know it's in Macc, but the quality of their systems is second to none and they always do bespoke stuff.

    Wheel and tyre weights

The Primacy's are fine really, though they lack progression and to a point feel. They are fine on a trackday though as when they overheat, they remain consistent and you can abuse them all day and they still seem to last forever. Yes, I've won sprints on Primacy tyres in OEM sizes. However the Yokos have better progression. I think failures on any wheels is a cause for concern whether they are sold in large quantities or not!

Sorry to hear that, Keith. 93 is pretty good though!

I'm running Advan V105's on stock sizes on an 8" rim.

    Wheel and tyre weights

Kev's problem is that he fitted too big fat tyres. I was on it with mine in stock sizes. He couldn't get the heat into his huge tyres, but I had no problem. So I'd say the V105's are perfectly good enough for sprinting and will take the track abuse better than the Conti's. Kev's going to fit some skinny tyres for next year I think!

    Wheel and tyre weights

It's one of those things we just don't know, but what we do know is that forged wheels are a lot stronger. There used to be a big thing about Rota's failing, but I've got tbh and say that I've not heard of any recent failings. OZ Utlralights are cast aren't they? Light ish though. My Rays without the powdercoat in the same size are 7.2kg. But obviously these are forged.

    Those wheels look fab.

    Hi 86 fans!

I think the reality is, having RWD and an LSD will always equal more fun if you can realise it's potential, that's where the fun is. A RWD chassis is a purer chassis, though I will concede that FWD can be devastatingly satisfying, as I used to own a DC2 and I have a lot of respect for that car.

Northern Meet/Open Day @ Tuning Developments

Sounds good to me, works out well date wise. Will get Mark to bring the AE86 too.

I hope the Rays nuts work out for you. The set of Rays wheel nuts I've got on my car have been really durable, though they are steel.
