  1. Okay, will give it some thought. Can meet both requirements with Indy.

    Hi

Welcome aboard, Bex, looks like you have some talent there.

I've had them for the past 2.5 years. I rarely use them this time of year, but did put them on briefly on Wednesday morning. But in autumn through spring I use them a lot and in winter all the time. Wouldn't have a car without heated seats.

    Custom exhaust JP Macclesfield

It might help that 11 odd years ago the owner think his name was John? was always interested to hear about my racing exploits and I was nearly on for having them as a sponsor. But, obviously since that time, the people I knew have now left. The work they do on manifolds is just stunning though. You'd see Bentley blowers, classic Maseratis and the like in there having full systems from the head all the way back! I remember going to them to get an oxy sensor cut into a Magnex exhaust on my AW11 SC. Due to the SC box the exhaust was really tight to the driveshafts, but without asking they welded in an tiny extra section to drop it 10mm to clear the driveshaft boot! That's what I call service! I was warned by Richard that the waiting list is about three weeks. But really nowhere else does better work. So if I have to wait three weeks for my AE86 to be done, then so be it.

    GT86 upgraded in the UK

The comprehensive warranty is for three years or 60K miles. Then there is still a warranty for the final two or up to 100K, but it is not comprehensive so will cover less and more wear and tear items will be excluded. My car is 2.5 years old with 65K on the clock.

The leather or leather/alcantara is well worth it over the cloth. Not only that but you get heated seats too which I find essential for a lot of the year. The BRZ dash is the bit where it's not as nice as the GT. Also the terrible head unit doesn't help here.

    GT86 Alarm Unit Programming Codes

For reference if I open the boot by having the keyfob near it or using the button it does not set the alarm off. I can shut the boot afterwards and the car remains locked etc. That's how it should be surely?

    2015 Budget

It's brand new cars from 2017 that are affected. You will still need an MOT next year just as I will.

    GT86 Alarm Unit Programming Codes

As long as you don't lock the car with the boot open it won't arm. Opening the boot in isolation does not set the alarm off. The common mistake is to open the boot from inside the car, then lock it, which obviously arms the alarm and will lead to the beeping.

    Custom exhaust JP Macclesfield

I've used JP Exhausts before for full systems for my cars and also they made the manifolds for us when I was involved in K20A conversions for Elises and the like. They are excellent, I would say the best place you can go to. Highly recommended. They will be doing some work on my AE86 in the next few weeks. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I've only got a Milltek as it was part of the option package when I bought my car, otherwise I would have gone to JP. I'd go 2.5" with just the rear silencer, don't bother with the resonated bit. Obviously you can tell them how you want it to sound etc.
  11. It doesn't as far as I can tell.

New GT86 owner... Picked it up today!

James I will have to pop down some time as it will be good for links between this club and the Brotherhood, I know Chay has mentioned it a few times. (I realised I'm not in Lake Garda that day but I will be travelling to Croft for a sprint).

This sounds really good. It's a shame I live in Manchester and need to get north to Croft on that day.
  14. I would happily come, but for me it needs to be dog friendly which I'm guessing it probably isn't? This is why I don't go to many events at circuits or hill climbs unless I'm competing.
  15. Not sure if I'm coming Jeff. I've never been to Curborough, though I've known about it for a very long time, I'm not hugely keen on a short layout where you don't really get out of second gear from what I can work out. I once did a track day at Three Sisters in Wigan and that was like that. Bit too slow for my liking as I much prefer faster corners.

Great stuff, didn't take you long to start modding! Good to see the AE86 too.
  17. Kev, your tyres and brakes won't be troubled by a few runs round a short sprint course. Just go for it.

Welcome! Squeaky brakes is due to the pad material. You can try having Toyota sort it. I found I just got used to it. Affects all cars it seems. I'm using different pads now and no squeak at all, though not convinced they're as good as the stock pads really.
  19. We shall try, Chilli, though if there's a lake Indy will be in it!

I must say, I think my leather has worn pretty well. I've probably done more miles than most moaning about it elsewhere. I do use leather cleaner and whilst I never considered myself overly careful getting in and out, I don't seem to have scuffed it at all.
  21. Think you can do the Simplon, Furka, Grimsel then Sustenpass. Some of the best roads in the Alps.

    Air con dilemma!

Great news, Steve. Just remember to use that AC all the time, best way to keep it in good order.

Yes, the heated seat/leather upgrade is well worth doing. I've got the leather/alcantara as full leather wasn't an option. It's an option very much worth ticking. I think the overall build quality of the car is very good. I've had zero problems (well a heated seat switch stopped lighting up and I had a coil pack changed as a precaution) though I've done over 65K in two and a half years. I also compete in my car and will be taking it to Italy again at the end of the month. It's all good, you'll love it.
  24. Sorted the Tag, cheers for that. I'm not sure it works out cheaper unless the Peage is cheaper for using the Tag? But it will be more convenient.
  25. Might check that out, though I admit, I've always found the Peage heading south fairly deserted. But I will look into it as it could be handy. Cheers for that.
