Seriously just don't worry about it. It's the only way to get the options you've chosen fitted. Mine has the odd annoying rattle but I've done loads of miles. I just ignore it tbh and turn my music up.

Euro Tour over the Austrian Alps, Dolomites and Swiss Alps
Lauren replied to Lauren's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Jeff, let me know, dinner in Sirmione on the piazza is a must. Just a gorgeous place at night. Didn't realise about the Peage. So by 'free' what do you mean? I'll have Mark with me so he can lean out the window at the toll booths. You may want to check out the Susten and Grimsel passes as they are the best. Stelvio is hugely over-rated I think. The staircase bit is tight and tricky if it's busy and quite tiring. It's better on the downhill though. Fluella is good from what I recall, we did that on the way back last time. Sounds like you've got an interesting trip planned there, kind of going the other way round to us, so you can pick up the Dolomites on the way through past Bolzano. If you're going to Reims, make sure to check out the historic track complete with the ruins of the grandstand and pit straight which has restored original sponsors logos on it. Is an odd site but well worth a look and it's only five minutes from the motorway. I'm quite keen on our one full day in Grindelwald to get out and about with Indy, so will look into the cog train, cheers for that. -
Yellow foglights were de-rigeur in Japan back in the 80's so I suppose there is that. Even if they are never used as seems to be the case!
-
It's the same for everyone. Don't worry about it! Seats get done in Portbury docks, plus the alarm system. Al the other bits are fitted by your dealer.
-
Fair point, it does show them together. Well, up to you I guess.
-
Not wishing to throw a spanner in the works, but copies are rarely as good as the original. Obviously it's dependent upon materials used etc, but if it's significantly cheaper than the original, there may be a reason.
-
Much better than the peppermint I think. I really think white needs a strong colour on the wheels.
-
Well, I would think it would better clamp the strut to the top mount if you space the bolts out. Stands to reason really.
-
RRG have not set them correctly. They set mine like that, but as soon as Yukiko from Tein saw it when I got to Fensport she got them to move them one hole apart. I'd trust Yukiko in this instance! Up to you, but I don't think Yukiko and Dave at Fensport would be wrong about this.
-
But, I do apologise, I'm being over critical, of course you will lose some speed as you turn in. Sorry!
-
Jeff you should have your bolts that hold the pillowball mounts apart, not together. That is not correct. You should have a gap of one hole between the bolts. You can see your mounts are slightly twisted relevant to the top mount. If you look at Tweedbean's pic in the first post you will see what I mean.

Does it? Thought it looked like you were doing 110mph then slowing down to 85mph or so for entry unless I read it wrong. I did only look at the first vid. Sorry if I got it totally wrong. Or maybe I'm just expecting you to carry it through the apex?
-
Well, just thinking that I would expect entry to be around 110mph, perhaps more on grippy tyres into Coppice, so you would load it more. Is your speedo really 15mph out at 85mph? My comments on the ARB's was just me thinking that this car needs it's suspension to move a little to get all the grip out of the tyres. It does seem not that many people are putting in stiffer ARB's. But, as you say it might help given your spring rate, though conversely I run a 5/6kg setup and find it perfectly fine on track. I've not really considered that I need bigger ARB's, though I don't run grippy tyres so I guess that would make a difference.

Euro Tour over the Austrian Alps, Dolomites and Swiss Alps

We're going on Monday July 27th to Strasbourg, then 28th to Innsbruck. The 29th will take us to Cortina D'Amprezzo and then on the 30th we arrive at Bessano Del Grappa, then get to Sirmione on Friday 31st. There till the 6th August before heading to Grindelwald for a couple of days and setting off on the 8th back to Strasbourg and onto Brugge on the 9th and back under the Channel on the 10th August. It's less than four weeks away! Anyone else want to join us for some of it, let me know. -
By the video I'm guessing you don't know Cadwell very well, but I do wonder with such big ARB's that it will affect traction which will perhaps worsen over bumps mid corner? I only mentioned your entry speeds as loading it up properly into Coppice would give you a better idea of how it is under compression, but if it was already grounding out that probably isn't a great idea!

Welcome aboard! I think you'll find the car a bit more usable than you think. I use mine daily for work and have done for over two years. It's actually not that bad at all. Pretty comfortable on the motorway and fine around town. At least it's a bit more exciting than a Mazda 3.

Christov is in Lake Garda over similar dates too, so we will hope to catch up with him for a beer or two. -
Sounds fantastic, Keith. It's great when members come together. All you need is the same passion.

You can just hit the demist button and it will demist the screen of course. Just run the AC all the time and it will never mist up. The auto setting will do this. I have to be honest, I can't for the life of me work out why people don't just leave it in auto, set the temp and then never touch it. The fan speed will alter to suit in auto setting. This is what I do. My temperature range varies from 19C in the summer to 22C in the winter, but that's the only settings I change. I have never had to use it in manual mode as that would defeat the point.

Having done a serious amount of mileage in my car (65K) I find it absolutely fine in traffic and I use it on the motorway a lot as I work away currently. It's fine. It's going down the Peage through France and over the Alps again at the end of the month and down to Italy. I did a similar journey two years ago in it. It does fine as a GT car. Everybody junks the stock head unit. The Toyota one is better, but it's still not very good. I would advise that when you go on another test drive, go on some decent roads. This is a drivers car and that's where you'll have your fun.
-
Straight cut gears means you'll need ear plugs! I doubt anyone would be able to cope with it on the road.
-
Welcome aboard Dan. There's plenty who've gone the FI route and also lots of suspension options. Will be interested to hear what you decide on.
-
Dave, can you please put up a price please.
-
Sounds good, what are you looking at suspension wise?
-
I get a buzz from the gearbox if I've been driving the car hard. I must admit, it's become almost a sign that I'm simply working it hard and I suppose for me, it has become part of the experience. Must admit, I changed my gear knob to a carbon one with a solid top as I didn't like the feel of the stitching on the standard one.
