I've been with Sky for years and in lots of ways I'd have liked to stay with them. But, an at fault accident last year meant a 50% rise in my premium and so I had to look elsewhere. I decided to give Prestige a go as they offer a club deal so I gave them a ring. It took a while to do the quote as I have quite a number of requirements, but it all went smoothly and I got a quote which in the end saved me £129 over the best that Sky could offer. I feel a bit guilty for leaving Sky as I was doing some blog stuff for them, but I can't justify the extra cost, so I hope my time with Prestige will be a good one.

I have a Milltek non-res with a 2nd cat delete. I'd be absolutely amazed if it failed a noise test at any circuit. I guess that's what I'm saying.
-
Reckon you'll be alright. I wouldn't be too worried by that.

Hello Trashy, Welcome aboard. Respect for having had one of the best handling driver's cars out there, the DC2. I have many fond memories of mine. Enjoy the BRZ.

Remind me what the noise limits are? Mine was 93db last time it was tested. So should be okay. Would be surprised if it failed anywhere. Well it might fail at the moment as it is cracked (again).

More for the US market where they have poverty spec lights I think.

I've got loads tbh. My car is peppered on the front. I've also got two on the roof that have gone rusty and two chips in my windscreen which have been there for well over a year and haven't got any worse. It's just inevitable really. It doesn't help that the bumper is black underneath the paint so it really shows. I'm sure though you can get that stuff sorted out when you have the rest of your car repaired.

Have they changed it? Isn't an 'O' ending male in Italian and an 'A' female when it comes to names. -

You can find out what a tyre manufacturer recommends in terms of wheel width compared to tyre width. http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/tyre-size-for-rim-width_topic60146.html Or use this as a guide. I tried 225/45/17 on an 8" rim. Too much sidewall flex. So I'm going back to 215s on the same rim as the car was far more responsive which I liked. I will lose a bit of ride quality, that is true, but I think it's worth the pay off. Obviously with all these things you can simply go too far. This can lead to tyres coming off the rims which is not good. Drifters like a rigid sidewall because it makes it easier to drift, well easier to get the car sideways and easier to hold it there. This is to an extent why I like a bit of stretch. Anyone who saw me at the hairpin at Lydden Hill will understand that it just made it so easy to place the car at any angle you want. As soon as you bring sidewall flex in, it gets harder. The other way to reduce tyre flex is to reduce the tyre profile. For example running a 225/40/18 is I think better than running a 225/45/17. The problem is the wheel gets heavier but the upside is the handling remains sharp well you lose a bit due to wheel weight, but everything is a compromise. But as a general rule run a rim width which is at the upper end of the scale in compared to tyre width. All the induction kits are much of a muchness. Depends upon how you want it to sound. Much the same can be said of exhausts. Just find the combination you want and go for that. Tax is £225. Go for Amuse for the exhaust then. There are tons of aftermarket parts all the usual suspects.

Not yet. Only the roof which seems to suffer from stone chips. Got a couple of rust spots on mine. The rest is okay.

I remember seeing these when I was at 86 Style @Fuji last August: Now, I talked with a Japanese friend of mine and these are meant apparently to break airflow when the car is sliding. I'm not sure I absolutely understand how they work or not. Also I've checked my TRD catalogue and they are not in there. Other's have said that it's a Toyota part. So my question is, can anybody shed any light on these, what they do, is it worth getting etc? I've already got the TRD aero fins of course.
-
I got them from Richard (Riceburner) at RRG Macclesfield.
-
Welcome aboard Ajay, nice looking TRD you have there.
-
If you had said a DC2 I would have said, well it's not quite as sharp, but I think the answer you are looking for is yes. I think the switch to RWD will mean you can get to enjoy it a whole lot more.

£420 for the pair on Fensport's site. My body coloured ones a mere snip at £238.

It is looking lovely, Jonathan. Good work!

Plenty of grey ones available, Dan.

Good stuff, for a moment there when I opened the thread I was wondering how you cracked your gearbox! Is there no vid better than 240? That's hard work watching as you can't see what he's doing!

Here's the vid that Mark made. Unfortunately none of the fun stuff worked out, but we'll know for next time! -

Could do some Peak district potentially, does that work for you? I'm getting my summer wheels and tyres back on on Saturday, so would be keen to give it a bit of a blow out, get a feel for grip levels etc. Sunday I've got all day so could go further.
