I had a go in Richard's RRG Demo car (well a quick blast really) and the Blitz setup he has sounds amazing. Way better than my old Injen induction kit (not much else was available at the time). A monkey is pretty expensive though for that lot.

LOL, Toni, priorities and all that, chop, chop TAGG. Bles, well I did buy a new one! I love the car, sure I've messed with the handling but I've left the engine pretty stock not feeling a need for more power etc. Though I do think it's essential to change the exhaust on the stock car for something more fruity and at least ditch the second cat.

As you know, comfort is key, I've found this helmet great in that regard.

I'm sure we can sort you some nice parts Toni. I know your penchant for bling! Maybe this time try and arrive on the same day as you've booked. If you fancy coming to Macc next Saturday I'm reviewing RRG's GT86 Aero, I'm sure I can get you a drive. Bit of a trek though.

I got this one a little over a year ago: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/helmets/bell-mag-1-helmet It's perhaps not the lightest, but it's very comfortable and is FR of course. It even has the post for Hans if you felt so inclined.

I'd also recommend an open face helmet for sprinting. Okay a full face has more protection and when I was racing against others cars on track that's what I used. But I would say that an open face is tons more comfortable, it's cooler, you can have a drink or a vape or a smoke whilst you're in the queue.

Might be worth adding it's in Somerset. I was quite interested till that point! Here's the link to the museum: http://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/

Just bought one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00AGD5IFI/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_asp_bR6sI.144MR8N?fb_ref=Default Looks like this:

I'll try diluting the foam next time! I had a bit left so just tipped that into the bucket for the washing.
-
Sounds really good, Keith. Yes a little track or something would be very cool. Sorry I didn't make it. Had an aborted car review due to snow, so didn't quite achieve what I set out to, but never mind.
-
Okay just got a chance to try it with that snowfoam bottle that AJ recommended. How much foam? Well as you can see absolutely tons of it. Very impressive. It did help loosen the dirt too and after I'd rinsed it, going round with a mitt was an easy job indeed. I do wonder, do these petitions ever achieve anything though?

I've used spigot rings with my Rays wheels. 56.1mm is definitely the hub diameter. Good luck with sorting it.

I think trying to sell it to you, Toni, what I'd say is, that I can happily live with this car day to day as I've proven notching up a bit over 55K miles and counting in just over two years. So I know this car, I know it foibles and I know what I like. So it's a cheap car to run, tyres last forever and you're unlikely to have any reliability issues. This is all good of course, the key thing for me, is that yes, I can sit on the motorway with the cruise control on, heated seats warming my bum and back whilst listening to my favourite tunes. This car is good enough at that and economy is good too. But, really any clear stretch of road in front of you can be fun. Whether it's that roundabout or hairpin where you disable the stability control in anticipation or whether it's that fast flowing A road, this car is a riot when you get into it. People will go, 'oh but it's only got 200bhp'. This is actually a blessing in disguise. Your licence is less likely to end up full of points and you have to work it to extract those 200 odd thundering horses. This is good. You can't just SLJ the straights and when you approach a corner you want to carry your momentum, well as much as possible. You'll have had a similar experience with your MK3 race car, though the 86 is easily quicker in a straighline than a MK3 MR2. The jewel in the crown with this car is it's totally malleable chassis balance which is a lovely thing. And coming from MR2's this car will seem like putty in your hands when you're going sideways. And then, well there's the aftermarket. So many options, so many choices. Thank me later.

She doesn't want, the auto, Keith. I know Toni.

The stock audio is not great (I'm being kind). Given the Sat nav is a £750 or so option, you can buy a very good (better) head unit with DAB for that money and sat nav. Something like my Alpine is around £800 these days. So up to you. I've had the benefit of using the Touch and Go Toyota Sat Nav. I think my Alpine unit has better navigation, it also has Eastern Europe too which I admit I haven't used.
-
If you want to, Alex. I admit, I don't understand.
-
Blimey, Toni, you could have driven mine enough times! Contact the dealer ask for a manual for half a day and go do that. The supply of Gialla's is running out fast I think. Also in comparison to the MR2 scene, the scene for this car is certainly growing and growing fast.

Must admit I don't really get the whole 'torque dip' issue. I have noticed it when accelerating in 6th gear on the motorway. Otherwise I don't notice it that much. When pushing on I'll generally be well north of the 3500-4000rpm area (where you notice it), so it's never been an issue. I don't have a remap either.
-
Ah I see. I'll go back to my gin, then.
-
So are you saying that we will all need a four point harness to compete come March?
-
Yeah, I never speed.
-
How long would you expect to have to wait for spares?
Lauren replied to Twigman's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
To be fair, cars that are stolen have a high likelihood of being damaged or trashed and then they are not returned to the owner so they won't be worried about keys. Your situation is a lot less likely. -
I must admit, I'm not particularly bothered as I don't speed on motorways.

I think if you're this unhappy all you can do is complain to Toyota. We can't really offer anything here. It may well be you are the first person in Europe to end up in what is a pretty unusual situation, i.e. your car was stolen with the key, then it was returned but you don't have that key. The probability of that situation occurring is very low I would say and therein lies your problem.
