How long would you expect to have to wait for spares?
Lauren replied to Twigman's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Most Toyota stock is kept in Belgium which is 2-3 days to get it shipped here. However stuff that is quite specific may need to come all the way from Maebashi, Japan (i.e. Subaru) and that will take a month to ship. Airfreight is quicker but costs more. What actual parts are you waiting on? -
Yep, hachi roku suki des here alright! Hope you find it useful.

Driftworks sell Work Wheels: http://www.driftworks.com/work-wheels/ I'm quite tempted for a set of Equip 03's for my AE86. Okay these aren't forged wheels of the Rays type, but at least they are original JDM wheels and not copies of something else. I stayed 17's with my wheels, though I went an inch wider to 8", it works pretty well. I would add, though the moment you put on a nice set of wheels you will have to lower the car!

Welcome aboard Mark, hope you find it useful here. Seen and posted on your thread, quite a lot going on there!

I've driven Keith's car with the K Sport brakes round Oulton. He obviously has a turbo too. I did notice he managed to get them smoking when we shared the car over a session, so there was smoke pouring off them when I got in the car. But that said, they continued to work well and didn't fade. Pretty hot still after a 20 minute session!

Impressive amount of mods going on there! The Scion badge is not for me, though I guess you are aware how Japanese manufacturers have come up with different names to make them sounds less Japanese, like Acura and Scion, being the sub brand of Toyota. Is there any reason why you didn't go for the obvious AVO turbo route given the easy access to significant expertise and experience there is around here?

Thanks, AJ went ahead and ordered that snowfoam bottle/lance.
-
Chop, chop people!
-
It doesn't sound like they were preset when you got them from what you say! Seriously just get them setup properly when you have the geo done there's no other way to do it.
-
Surely though you can adjust the ride height at the bottom and the preload at the top? So can't you just pre-load the spring?
-
Okay, well I'll think about getting one of those other bottles. More money!
-
Cheers. Think I should try the foam bottle that comes with it first, see how I get on.

Reason for buying is that our ancient one split over the winter due to ice damage on the lance. It was a cheap £50 one we've had ten years so about time for a replacement. I'm no GJOB'er but I don't let a brush anywhere near my car and I don't let anyone hand wash it, so if I've got to do it myself I want something that does the job. I may try the snow foam stuff in the detergent bottle as my old one didn't have that. But it's my understanding that it doesn't really speed up the washing process, though a friend suggested putting the snow foam on and using the mitt on that, then rinsing to save time, so I might try that. My car is multicoloured from various repairs and the paintwork is rough for the mileage I do. Not that much I can do about it really and I severely lack patience when it comes to cleaning. It should be arriving tomorrow, may get a chance to try it out next weekend. One thing I wondered, is what snow foam to get? No idea if the Halfords 5 litre one is any good, or do you just use a concentrate and top up with water? I've no idea about it as I've not used it before.

Sorry Keith, we're not going to be able to make it, Keith. Got some stuff at RRG to do.
-
Sounds good. Hope it's not too noisy for the TSS. Looks like I'm going to have my work cut out in the N2 class with a far more stock car on Primacy tyres, with perhaps only handling being my advantage!
-
Unequal length manifold by the looks of it.
-
Not a fan. But when we were in Japan we saw a lot more variations in models over there. Likely it's just a JDM thing.
-
Thats slightly better, though it now only clashes with Duderstadt!
-
I think low usage is the problem. I've left mine for 16 days once, no problem. Never had an issue, but I do a lot of mileage. In fact only time I had a flat was when I ran my audio for 45 minutes, but it isn't standard.
-
Okay, what time do people want to meet? I can get there I think for 7.30pm, just got to walk Indy first.
-
Think you might need an LSD! In your position I would have gone with a MK3 MR2, put a cage in it, then you could put on a turbo, much cheaper, much faster and way better handling. Good luck with it though.
-
Okay sorted.
-
Stupid question but where should I be looking for my invoice?

How about the Romper near Manchester Airport? Big bonus is, it's dog friendly. We had a meet there a while back. http://www.chefandbrewer.com/pub/romper-ringway-altrincham/p1179/?utm_source=g_places&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=pubs&utm_keyword=&utm_content=

Ooh, that's a thought. Cheers for that will give it some thought.
