Richard (Riceburner) at RRG had a custom quad system made for his TRD Demo car. In fact when I think abou it, he had two TRD's done by JP. Was beautiful and made by JP Exhausts which I really think are amongst the best exhaust fabricators in the country. The TRD exhaust is just way too quiet IMO.

Perhaps Tim can clarify in regard to this?

Welcome aboard. When we get some North West meets going (been a bit of a quiet period lately) you should come along. Likely to do a drive out round North Wales some point soon I expect. Liking the stripes.

I needed, 30K mileage a year, two thirds of that is business mileage. So business cover as well. I also wanted third party cover on any car. I didn't bother asking about like for like cover. Is there any point really?

Welcome aboard. Yes, upgrading the sound system was the first thing I did too. The stock system is awful and I wasn't impressed by the JBL either. By twin pipes do you mean quad pipes? There are some that have done this, but not that many I would say. There were 250 TRD's converted at the docks, so there should be a few about, though I'm not sure Toyota actually sold 250. We have a few members on here with TRD's.

I find my car goes all over the place, with winters on in comparison to the 225 Advans I had on during the summer. I think my more aggressive geo over stock contributes. But, what I've realised, is that it's way more fun, so I'm not going to put the Advans back on. Back to Primacy's for me when spring comes around. I think you can also dial out the inherent understeer with a geo setup that has more camber and less toe in on the rear. I don't think I need thicker ARB's on my car as the balance is where I want it already.

There is no scrutineering for trackdays in regards to helmets. Bike helmets are fine to use. Car specific helmets have an FR rating which is fire retardant. If you were to go racing you would need a car specific helmet but this does not apply to trackdays.

I don't know many people that tried them, someone did though, trying to recall who it was. Said it limited traction, so maybe not the way to go.

Brand new Yokohama winters on OEM wheels
Lauren replied to Fusion's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Thanks. Up to you but you could add some pics. -
I think the point of the show is to demonstrate that your labour is essentially 'free' as in if you were buying cars, doing them up a bit and moving them on this is how it would work for your average home mechanic, facilities notwithstanding of course.

Would you mind posting the ad up on here, so people don't need to go to ebay. Cheers. -
Must admit, we often have it on on Saturday/Sunday afternoons if we're about.

Bedford, GT Circuit - Monday 9 March - anyone coming ?
Lauren replied to nickfrog's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
More grip, not as much fun. I'm not sure what they will be like when they get hot. Sidewalls are too soft IMO. Think Keith's got F1's on his, though they are very wide at 245 section and the sidewalls being bigger lose the precision from the chassis I think. That's what it felt like when I drove it. It's a personal preference thing really, but I don't like soft sidewalls on track. I take it you're on stock sizes? -
Surely power is fairly meaningless to the GJOB'er brigade?

The tyres will overheat, but in a good way. They grip, then it feels like they go a bit loose, but just abuse them because then they just stay there and you can light them up out of every hairpin. Once you get a feel for them the OE tyres are nicely progressive and you can wag the tail at will and steer the car on the throttle. -

If you're good with brakes you will easily get four laps out of them, no problem. -
Those tips look nice, but I've just remembered I've never cleaned mine in two years. They've gone black now. Non-res is the one to go for, they're not that loud, even with the second cat gone and over pipe. I've never had issues in noise tests.

Changing again! Obviously mileage would need to be known, but it's worth less than what you paid for it of course. £1700?

I'd love to come, but it's an epic trek from Manchester to South Wales.

Mark has his mum's old 2001 Yaris 1.3. He loves it. I must admit, I don't! Cheap to run though. I had a new 2014 1.3 Yaris Icon (I think) from RRG as a loan car. It was way better than Mark's old Yaris. The engine was alright, though you really had to rev it to get moving, but that wasn't really a bad thing, it just needed more revs than my car to make progress. The steering had better feel than I expected it to have. The pedal spacing is terrible though and the brakes are over-assisted. Handling wise, it corners reasonably flat, though the 2014 model has stiffer springs which is an improvement over the 2013 model. The handling feels a bit inert, almost like the car isn't into what you are doing with it, if you start to push on, with the general characteristic to understeer, though it would slide all four wheels in low grip condition on say greasy bigger roundabouts. I have had a 2013 1.3 Yaris as a loan car too. That had the mad white plastic dashboard, which was a bit much. The 2014 car has a much nicer soft touch dash too. I really think though, that Toyota could made the instruments look a bit nicer rather than a basic back lit with bulbs on a black background. It's only when you get in the 86 that you notice how much clearer the more expensive instrument lighting is. Not the most involving car, but it is getting better. But, as a totally dependable, reliable car that will never go wrong it's hard to do better I think. I think they're made in France.

Welcome aboard. Sorry I've not heard of the 'Smart cover', so I've no idea what it is, but guess it must be insurance if you have a puncture of kerb a wheel? Given the low incidence of punctures I'm not convinced it makes sense. I think April will be a good time as the events are starting to come into full swing for spring and the summer, so there will be plenty going on.

Great stufff, welcome aboard. RRG Macc are very mod friendly. The stock suspensions stands up well on track to be fair. I have got coilovers on mine and a more aggressive geo setup and I have to admit it does transform the car. But you can still track it stock, I did a few times.

Autosport Performance Show 2015 Pics

The dash binacle gives it away actually. Trying to look like a Carrera GT. -
You sold it for more than you advertised? Impressive!
