It's the wallop of low end torque that I don't like. I had that in the AW11 SC, but it ran out of puff at the top end. I like to rev the nuts off an engine, so I like my power at the top end. I'm weird, yes I know. Looks like the Cosworth blower is done by 7000rpm.

Tim, just a thought, but why don't you get your team to look at this page, i.e. someone who is qualified to make a decision on it and then let Nigel know. That's how you provide a great service.

I really want to know more about the supercharger. Am I right in thinking it's more like a Roots type blower? I had one of these on my old AW11 SC. It was great for low down torque, but no good at the top end. The Sprintex is a twin screw which gives a good mid range and better top end than the roots, though the centrifugal Rotrex type as used by HKS is all about the top end, thus more closely mimicking a larger displacment NA. So, I'm interested to see how the Cosworth delivers it's power. If it's a great slug of torque in the low to mid range, it's not for me.

It's still cold when you get into the car early in the morning. I must admit, wouldn't be without heated seats myself.

I thnk the leather/alcantara heated seat option is very nice to have. I do a lot of miles and have a lot of early starts for work. I use the heated seats even in the summer for the most part. In the winter it's great. For me, it's an option I'm very glad I chose.

You could set an ARB up badly by putting it under tension, but this will achieve nothing in reality.

I think you just tend to get used to the idle fluctuating a bit, then you don't really pay any attention to it.

If you're near Oulton you can't be far from me (I live very close to Manchester Airport), there are a few meets in the NW, you should come along to those. Might even get a drive out to the EVO Triangle again.

Don't forget UK clusters will be in Mph which is not cool.

I'd wait till you see the paint in the light before you decide how it looks. I hate yellow with a passion, but I think it looks alright for yellow.

For Sale: Bride Custom Alcantara stitched & Airbrushed seats

I should add for Dave's benefit, it's 'lose' not 'loose' and 'losing', not 'loosing!'. -
I'll get it done when it's needed, Lee. If it passes 100K without issue I'm sure it'll be fine.

Very cool. I must admit, I've had an RC GT86 drift car that has been waiting to be painted for 18 months and various models that have been waiting over ten years to be put together. Nice, though if you've got the patience.

Taking the pee, with that price. RRG?
-
It's about £250 for the main service and £150 for the cheaper service. In fact I've had two 'two year' services as I'm nearly on 50K. Diff oil is the one you want to ensure is done.

Keith are those the HSD's that were for sale on here with the 9kg front and 7kg rear springs?
-
Stag of course, amazing engine.

Do you use the car a lot? If you don't, a trickle charger may be a better option. I left mine for over two weeks without an issue.

It's claimed to improve rigidity. If you feel your door between the glass and the seal it moves around a fair bit. Some discussion here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9176

Fair enough. I do like my tyres to perform well on track though I'm not generally looking for outright grip, I want really good progressiveness and in the wet also on track. I do 30K miles a year, so there will always be some fast road driving somewhere, I just like to have tyres that are fit for the job whatever the weather. I haven't had the pleasure of a wet track this year. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll rain for Rockingham. Yes, I understand about the higher labour rates. I'd rather pay the higher rates for lots of reasons really.

Looks good. I know if I had that it'd be risky with kerbs and the like, think you'll need to be extra careful!
-
Just out of interest why do you need a new battery?
-
Well I did it in a MK2 Escort some seven or eight years ago. If you look at the vids they do seem to still use the MK2. Best bet is to ask I would say.

I must admit, I wouldn't fit a track day tyre to a road car. I like my car to be as good as it can be in the wet and and all trackday tyre are aimed at dry trackdays really. When I used the Advan Neova LTS, that was basically a wet trackday tyre for the Elise and that was just fantastic. My issue is I love driving quickly in the wet so using a trackday type tyre would be a compromise and after all grip isn't an issue in the dry. When companies release tyres for race series and pretty much all tyre manufacturers have done this over the years as it's reasonably good marketing. The problem is the trackday tyres aren't optimal for the road and their other offerings often fall well short. The general rule of thumb when it comes to tyres is that the more you pay the better tyre you get.
