I think the orange on black is an excellent combination. You just need some nice orange wheels now. I'm guessing the side stripe is photoshopped as it's at an angle?

Sounding good!

30mph over the limit to get a ban. So points and a fine I should think unless there were other circumstances that make it more serious. FWIW I got caught at 88mph in Scotland in 2002. 5 points and £225 fine.

Looks good, but the eyelids are just a massive no, sorry.

Welcome aboard, nice car!

Is this normal? Have others experienced this too?

Since I've had those red wheels my car seems to turn heads wherever I go. It's not weird, it's a fairly unusual car, people will notice it. If you modify it, people notice it more. I've lost count of how many times I've been asked about the car, it always seems to be a talking point. -
How long do you plan to keep your 86/BRZ?

Just looked at a review for the new Alfa and it wasn't good: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/alfa-romeo/giulietta/first-drives/alfa-romeo-giulietta-quadrifoglio-verde-first-drive-rev -
Reminder: No tax disc required as of tomorrow
Lauren replied to griffinnn's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Nothing will change, Nick in that respect. The only difference is you don't get a physical tax disc. -
My accident, repair, and lessons learnt. (Contains sad images)

A lesson learnt, indeed, Jay. Don't worry though we've all done it. But hopefully once is enough! Good write up though and hats off to Richard once again for providing an excellent service. -

I expect I'll keep it and continue to modify it. But I do very high mileage so it will depend upon how the car works out in that respect. There are too many variables to say I won't change for a newer upgraded model in the future as I don't know what's going to happen in that respect. It's a daily car that does everything for me. I can't get my head round people using it as a weekend car really and driving something crap during the week. Life is way, way too short to drive a boring a car, ever. I've still got my AE86 and I want to finish it off. Now that's a weekend car! -
Mines done it pretty much all the way through it's 47,000 miles. I just don't worry about it. It seems to come and go but is never that loud. I admit I always have music on so it doesn't really bother me that much. It's the OEM pad material.

Cool, welcome aboard. I look forward to seeing what you can offer.

Mike, to learn the correct technique, you have to practice it. Even if you get off the throttle suddenly the car will pull back into line, albeit less tidily. It's not safe to dip the clutch, it will make the care more unstable and bringing the clutch up again won't help either. At high speeds it's particularly dangerous. Just want you and your car to live a bit longer. -
Twin charging is really very little gain for great expense. Just not worht it, though people will do it just because they can, not because it makes sense.
-
Didn't Ed have to reduce his rev limit using a smaller pulley?
-
Well, if you're going for it mid-corner and balancing the throttle, that is where you will notice lag. In the scenario I'm talking about you should be right in the power curve at all times.

Honestly, not a good way of doing it. Better to ease off the throttle as that way you still have control. You have no control if the clutch is pushed down. Easing off the throttle means the engine braking will help straighten the car up. -
Well, I didn't do any measurements but looked simply like a different damper and nothing else.

It's the most amateur mistake you can make, i.e., he put too much opposite lock on too late, was too abrupt lifting off the throttle, the car then went the other way and straight into the lamp post. -
Well a supercharger has less lag so it makes it easier to balance mid-corner.
-
I've seen the newer version from what I could tell at 86 style. It's just Sachs dampers from what I could see. They may well be an improvement over the standard dampers. Though if you're going to change for something aftermarket it matters little really.

This is exactly why I don't attend such events, even though that one was literally up the road from me. -
Mark and I are up for it. Will stick it in my diary.

Will be very pleased to get rid of mine, but slightly annoyed that I have a parking permit in a tax disc holder. So my windscreen will not be as clear as I'd hoped! -
Yes indeed. I'm looking forward to trying Maz's car how he's revised the plumbing.
