LOL! Well in fairness that FB page tells me nothing. A couple of pics of the wheels off and erm, that's it!
-
Please put some pics up properly with some specs, looking at some garage's FB page doesn't really cut it.
-
Sorry to hear that Rab, though from what you'd said before it did seem somewhat inevitable. Hope to still see you at some events.

Lauren replied to Keethos's topic in Social Meets
I'm up for a meal on Wednesday night, Keith if you fancy it? Also driving down Thursday morning to JAE. Current thinking is Sandbach services at 11am. -
Not a GT86 - 3 Series Detailed

GJOB'er! -
Blimey, Will, I didn't see that coming. I'm gutted for you and a bit gutted too that we'll be seeing you less. Hard as it is for me to say, I think if you have to have a GTR then that's how it's got to be and I know The ST with the Mountune kit has rave reviews. I just think it's a shame as you never got the opportunity to get the car to where you wanted to (those bloody wheels!) and now you never will. I think you should come to JAE anyway and just leave the ST outside. It would be good to see you.

Nice touch I think, purple does look good, will have to see it in the flesh.

Macclesfield Mini Meet - Friday 12th September 2014
Lauren replied to Keethos's topic in Social Meets
I didn't think to check it wasn't a weekend. Can't justify a Friday* off really, sorry. *Unless I'm inbetween work contracts. -
Without experiencing it first hand, it's hard to say. A number of us have experienced the 'clicking' of a the rear parcel shelf which was an easy dealer fix.
-
If I'm around then yes, I'll pop over, no probs, suspect Alec will too if he's about. Lauren triangle?
-
Weren't those just sprayed though, Faith? Should be easy enough to sort that I would say.

Was just thinking if you want to look at wheel and styling options my visit to 86 Style at Fuji a couple of weeks ago has it all: http://laurenblighton.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/86-style-at-fuji-speedway-3rd-august.html

Or go to JP Exhausts in Macc and get them to make one. Lifetime warranty too and excellent workmanship.
-
Choices, choices. Cobra don't seem to want to admit they can't produce an exhaust of a known decibel rating. Milltek have problems with the rear pipe cracking, but replace it under warranty with no issue. Surely Milltek will revise their design in time? Or it will cost them with replacements. FWIW my Milltek went 40K miles till it cracked.
-
When it's cold and it's worse when the car has low mileage i.e. less than 10K.
-
Hi Adam, welcome aboard from another member in the NW. I'd say look at a Milltek, instead of a Cobra and get RRG Macc to fit it. There have been some problems with noise levels of Cobras. Hopefully we'll get another NW meet soon, if it's any help it looks I'll be at Tatton Park for the car show this Saturday, if you want to pop over, let me know.

Atop the 'real' Mount Akina:
-
This is old news that was originally released around the beginning of this year IIRC. Surely everyone taxes their car online anyway? Can't wait for this new system, makes perfect sense. Also it's much better for buying used cars, none of that problem when it comes to selling of putting tax on etc. Good riddance to the tax disc I say. Can't wait to remove it from the car even if it does have an expiry of 31/07/15!
-
Keith you can easily see that HKS has been changed to NKS just like Mount Haruna is called Mount Akina. Also note. 'Trest' instead of 'Trust' and 'Bitz' instead of 'Blitz'. Initial D, is fictional and so are the tuners and the place names. But all are based on real locations and real things of course like the AE86. Mark and I have never seen the last series of Initial D. We have only seen up to when Takumi gets the 20v. Reason being is we watched these back in 2003 and the last series wasn't out then. Trouble is we'd have to watch the whole lot again (we've got 20 DVD's!) which will take months!

A bit of a spirited drive down the Toyo Tires Turnpike, including the bit where the brakes get a little warm: http://youtu.be/Dxe4bFrVocs?list=UUdokYg51aL3FGA4-k4jCAoQ

Okay, flights are booked, we jet off on the 22nd July and come back on the 5th August! This is a trip of a lifetime, so we are looking at a couple of nights of acclimatisation in Tokyo before taking advantage of the week train pass that is avaiable to foreigners. It works out at around £161 each and you can use nearly all the trains, including the bullet trains, though not the fastest one which I'm guessing wil cost extra. We haven't finalised a route yet, but we want to go to Hiroshima to see all the peace memorials. We are toying with stopping in at Kobe for a night, to try some very nice steak! Given the speed of the trains, it looks like covering distance is not a problem. We need to work out how far we can get round in a week. So that is all to be decided. For the second week, we are doing car stuff. We are looking at hiring an AE86 via 7 tune who take you on a guided tour of the Touge over 100kms. There might be an opportunity to drive a Hakosuka over a certain part of the mountain roads, which I may have to do as well. I'm trying to see if I can get a factory tour at Gunma where the GT86 is made. We are going to visit the Toyota museum in Nagoya. Also we are of course going to Eight-six day which is at Fuji Speedway on the 3rd August. I'm hoping to visit some tuner garages, Autobacs and also to go and see some drifting. So much to plan, but am now very excited! Any tips on things to do and see would be welcome.

Seriously do not worry about it. All fuel stations seem to sell 98RON and there are the usual brands. I haven't driven that much in Spain, but I took my GT86 through France twice last year, no problem whatsoever getting decent fuel. I've done quite a lot of driving in Europe always in cars that need 98 RON. Never had a problem anywhere over the past 12 years of doing it.

I've suffered with depression and due to this, I am always at risk of it. So it is a lifelong thing that comes back to haunt you. So in respect of that I totally understand why someone would want to kill themselves, though it's a selfish act I understand that too.

Sounds good, but I'd be wary of fibreglass wings unless they are top quality.

Very sad, not a fan here and if there was ever sequel that you didn't need to make it's Mrs Doubtfire 2. The first film was awful, maybe that's what it was?
