Cheers. I had the side stripe done to match when I had the wheels fitted. It used to be black. Yes I could lower it more, but I want my car to handle. That is important for me. I also do 30K a year so it needs to be practical too. See here for the differences: http://www.tein.co.uk/product/index.html No top mounts on the Advance and a fair few other technical points.

Keith it was the GSD3's: The problem is because the tread blocks are so long, they overheat badly and delaminate. Not what you want really. Whilst I can push tyres quite hard on track, some brands seem to stand up to abuse far better than others. I tend to like Yoko's for this reason.

Not bad going. Guess see what happens with the pads. Mine seem to have stopped squealing for the most part, though that might be because there can't be much pad left after 38K. Also it seems that the sprinting has helped quiten them down a tad.

A few of us have the Tein Stret Flex with EDFC Active Pro which is pretty cool and certainly works very well. I was joking about the wheels. I might have erm, started the trend. Untitled by Lauren Blighton, on Flickr

If you're going for just road stuff, then I would go for the Contisport Contact 5. I won't use Goodyears after having bad experiences with the tread overhheating on track. That was GSD3's though.
-
It may help if you specify which Goodyears (Asymmetric 2's?) and what Michelins you are considering.

The Michelin probably has more grip, hence worse efficiency rating. I like 17's personally, they are lighter and so that means less unsprung weight and you do notice it. My preference though. I'm getting a set of Yoko V105s in 225/45/17s fitted in a couple of weeks.

A general rule of thumb I find works quite well when it comes to exhausts (I worked on pitlanes for a fair few years) is, if you think your exhaust is going to be loud, it will be. I have a Milltek non-res with 2nd cat delete and over pipe and I'm well within limits.

Well done on winning a free track day. No call for me yet! In regard to plates get them legal, not worth the hassle.

Great stuff, welcome aboard. Seeing as you've got a white car, have you considered a more lairy colour for the alloys? All the rage it seems at the moment! Which coilovers are you considering?
-
Yep, absolutely, but if you get an aftermarket front bumper you will need to fit the headlamp washers. That's what I meant really.
-
Think the headlamp washers are an MOT requirement. But you need to check really.

Not bad Ed! Nice wheels! Surprised you rate Silverstone. Though racing on it was good fun due to so much width, driving it on a trackday was a tad boring I always thought.
-
They would have the wrong beam deflection being LHD. Whether or not you can adjust this is something you'd need to find out or you'd be running with beam deflection stickers on it forever. These can't be HID as there are no headlamp washers.

Yes I saw the link. Looks like the sub takes up a fair bit of boot space. Still will be interesting to see how it improves the sound quality and has to be a better alternative to the JBL option.
-
Okay, but you can't order that here. It's not an option I'm aware of?

Welcome, Jean Luc. We do have a Belgian member (Johnny) who is around on occasion. Do keep us updated. Last year when I drove over to Germany I met up with Johnny and Dennis from Belgium. Was a good little meet.

That's a nice box! Is this the FRS upgrade option?

Good stuff, Jamie. Does look very low that though!

Great stuff, not many sleeps now!

I think you have to have washers for the MOT if you have HID's. Though, you may want to check this.

Apparently using your mirrors is no longer required when reversing!

NWOC North Wales drive out (vid)
Lauren replied to Lauren's topic in Meets/Show & Shine - Pictures & Videos
They knew each other after the incident but not before. Not the kind of introduction you want really. They were alright it was only a 20mph incident. Twas a nice day till that point, then a lot of waiting around till eventually we set off for home. -
Went out with the NWOC (North West Owners Collective) today for a drive out over North Wales. We took in some of the EVO triangle too. Mark made a vid: Unfortunately there was an incident whereby a Civic rear ended a Skyline in a hard stop. This is why the vid doesn't really have an end as such as we stopped filming at that point. Otherwise it was a beautiful day with some great roads. We were a little hampered by traffic, but at one stop a friendly copper pulled up for a chat. I probably should have posted this up here, as it was a good alternative to those of us in the north.
