Just out of interest (seeing as I will be having a spin in your car Friday) how are you finding the Continentals? Also looking forward to trying out the gearbox bushing and steering wheel.

Great pics, Will, but where's mine? -
Not liking the green, sorry.
-
Richard, I'm going to pop down Saturday for that wheel and bolts for the AE86 if Paul has got them in. Maybe I could try your car in regard to the shift see what it's like?
-
Go for it, Rob! I do wonder if some kind of matching stripe will make it look more coherent.

Great stuff, it's going to be a long week!

Usability issues are less with an iPod, it interfaces better to the head unit from my understanding. Some have had issues with how things are listed and the likes when using SD cards. Also some of us use an iPod for our music needs in and out of the car, so it depends how you use it.

The size of the wheel is part of the issue as I understand it. Some have talked about fitting a bigger wheel from a Subaru with controls on it, but you'd likely need to splice on bits for that. So there is nothing plug and play that I'm aware of. Perhaps another way might be to add a stalk to the steering column?

I did wonder what happened to you! I stopped at Corley and everyone zoomed past me, but to be fair I had to make two loo stops on the way back, a two hour breakfast means you can drink quite a bit of coffee! -

A huge thanks to Adrian and the team, for organising a great event. Really enjoyed myself, also great to catch up with everyone. -
Happy Birthday and great combine it with a great meet! Many happy returns.

Okay, it looks like I may end up being more involved in the Sprint Series than I first envisaged. Lots of reasons for this of course. I know you haven't booked anythng yet, Rab, but I think it's a safer option for me to pull out at this point. Really sorry. Hope you get the numbers.
-
No worries, am happy to go with the flow. I know what you lot are like for drinking. Well done, Tony. See you tomorrow.
-
Get a couple then. If we pre-book shouldn't be a problem. I'll eat in Beefeater if I have to, but only if I have to.
-
I'm okay going for a cab into town if it means something better than dire Beefeater. Maybe we could hire a minibus type cab?
-
Okay, I was thinking 20mm front and 16mm rear.

Love the roll bars, Paul. I'm thinking about doing this at the same time I get coilovers fitted. Can I ask what diameter bars you went for. By the looks of it you went for drop links too. I'm guessing they're extra? I experienced Tim's Golf last Saturday, it really does deliver an astonishing clarity of sound. DSP is well worth it, I'm glad I went for it in my setup.

Lovely pics, Will. Where are those alloys? -
Let us know how you get on. We had Hawk pads on our old DC2 (a few years ago now) and they were excellent. The stock pads are a similar price to that anyway.
-
Sounds like hearsay to me. I wouldn't pay any attention to that.

I use an iPod Classic, but I admit I changed my head unit, so not a great amount of help. It should be fine though in all honesty and it is a great device in and out of the car with 160Gb of storage. On USB it should have no issues. I remember my phone working fine on USB for the whole month I had a standard head unit! Bluetooth is a poor way to listen to music anyway.

Welcome aboard! Don't worry about cleanliness, I've polished mine twice in 32K miles! I do wash it of course but it's dirty for most of the time! I say the cars for driving! Have you got any future plans for the car? I admit that us lot just can't seem to leave them alone.

The weight of the car. At a guess 1250kgs + fuel and your weight. Tis a fairly pointless part of the display though.
