Welcome aboard! I got my car this time last year and it pretty much instantly snowed. Not what you want really. Still I'm sure it'll stop raining in a couple of months time! So what colour/spec did you go for?
-
Fingers crossed and all that I'll have my mods all done in time!
-
It is lighter, but such things are fairly irrelevant in a 1200+kg car!
-
I guess another inch of width is going to add some weight. Mine seemed to be covered in wheel weights too, but that can't add that much really. I think the reality is a few hundred grams is neither here nor there in respect of how it will drive. The Rays wheels are forged, they are going to be pretty strong. So weight and strength is always a trade off really.

As I have said, I still have the primary cat, I have a full Milltek system from the primary catalyst back.
-
Yes, same as mine. I've never had a resonated system so I can't say. It's loud for the first ten seconds on a cold start. It's not loud when you're cruising. I drove to Germany and back and also to Italy at fairly high cruising speeds. It's no problem. I do have an aftermarket sound system though.

That's what I meant, second cat delete. I'm running a full Milltek non res from the primary cat back.
-
Did you go for a decat as well?
-
Yes, 17x8 so an inch wider than stock. Incidentally, I've just dropped them off for refurb. Taking a gamble but am having them powder coated red. There is only one red to choose from it's quite bright, but that's not a bad thing I think!
-
Just weighed one of them (they all seem to have loads of weights on them) at 7.4Kg.

Great stuff! I'm guessing it's just a matter of getting the plates and all that stuff through the DVLA. Won't be long now.

A ligher flywheel will result in a more responsive engine as there is less inertia to overcome. Whilst it will aid the engine revving, it will also decellerate the engine revs quicker too. It shouldn't have too much of an impact on idle really, though you may be more likely to stall it perhaps. The gains are really a sharper throttle response. You may notice that the engine hits the red line quicker in 1st gear but in higher gears the effects are diminished of course. Throttle adjustments mid corner should be sharper which is useful.

Also worth looking for second hand premium wheels. I bagged a set for under £600 recently. It can be done, but you may have to be quick!
-
LOL! But I've really no idea what you're talking about!
-
It was okay-ish apart from the stupidness of blowing those hatches up. But, they seemed to forget to review any cars! Seems like a total lack of content to me.
-
Sorry meant, what width tyres. When it comes to tyres buy the best you can afford.
-
Your money, your choice, but personally I would only use premium tyres as the more you pay the better they are generally. You spend a lot of money on the car, I don't see any point in skimping on tyres. The trouble is, cheap tyres tend to fall over in the wet. Reason being is that most people don't exceed their tyres limits in the dry. But in the wet progression is absolute key. Cheaper tyres tend to be less progressive and less grippy in the wet.

I've sent a PM to Tim: Hi Tim, I don't mean to be a pain, but would you mind reducing your signature size as I can't help but notice it seems to take up half the displayed page. Many thanks, Lauren See here: http://www.gt86.org.uk/forums/topic/1325-brz-front-fender-side-fin-group-buy-from-japex/page-2#entry17866

Bit of a brand that is considered 'budget' IMO. These are cheapish tyres. I really do think you get what you pay for when it comes to tyres. Stuff like Advan Neovas, Contisport Contacts and the like would be preferable.
-
9" is pretty wide, Keith, what tyres are you thinking of putting on them? I guess finding any secondhand is going to be a long wait.
-
LOL! Balamory would not be a good look! It's also why I've asked for the stripes to simply be replicas of the original rather than going for a bolder design.
-
Hi Keith, it's just bent on the bit of the rim you can see, nowhere else. Honestly it's really minor, will be no issue to sort that out. No, it will be a brighter red than the example as that is anodised. There aren't that many choices in respect of what shade of red when it comes to powder coating, but really the brighter the better I think. I've already been on to Richard about changing the side stripe colour to match. Hoping to get all that sorted at the next service which wil be in 2-3 weeks time. I'm keeping the aero fins in white as that's how I ordered them in the end. Don't want to over do it at this point.
