Why do people go for Nokian winter tyres? Never herard of this as a brand name. I understand it came out top in a test organised by Nokian, (whoever they are), but does that really mean they are any good?

You can add the stock spoiler to the GT, it's in the aftermarket body options type menu.

Cool! :+:

Not great at the moment. They are okay in the dry, lethal in wet or damp conditions in the current higher temperatures. Saw 13C today, I admit they don't inspire confidence. Obviously they'll be great when it's cold, but its, erm not cold!

Cobra is slightly louder, I think. Otherwise much of a muchness.

Yep, good meet. Can't believe we survived after what was quite an alcoholic afternoon at the xmas markets. Plus we walked a mile and a half from the centre of Manchester down to Rusholme. Great to see everyone, good curry and a good laugh. Maybe next time we can get a magician?
-
Neil, do we actually know where we going yet? And, are you meeting us at the xmas markets?
-
Yeah, it's not bad.

Picked up a copy from Sainsbury's today. Wheel plugged in, waiting for the inevitable update, which we knew was coming, still installing!

It's been a while coming to be fair, but death of an icon. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-25249520

I really loathe just about every American car. I must admit, this one doesn't sound anymore appealing. The biggest problem is the cars are designed for American roads, ie a poor surface, mostly straight but very wide. It makes their cars seem ponderous once on this beleagured isle.

GT6 is for the PS3 btw. I'll probably get it, still got a decent wheel setup.

It's the pad material. Or they need to design some anti-squeal shims. Either way the only way to stop is to change the pads. Mine squeal all the time. I've just got used to it now.

About time really, just not needed nowadays with ANPR etc.

Yes, Mark is coming.

BC Racing Coilover Kit for GT86/BRZ/FR-S

Loving it! I might have a cunning plan, we'll see if it comes together. -
Cool. Not sure on timings, but if you want to join us at the Xmas markets (not far from Rusholme), do come along. :+:

GT86 Drift Experience

That's more like it! -
It's just the pad material. Nothing you can realistically do. Mine squeak all the time (when I'm braking). I think I've just got used to it. Your other option is to change to non standard brake pads. That might help.

Okay guys, all sorted my end. Our plan is to go over to see Mike et al. at Tuning Developments in the morning. Then I'm going to whizz back to Wilmslow to get my eyebrows done. From there we are aiming to be on a train into Manchester Picadilly/Oxford Road for around 2pm. Then it's Gluewhein at the Xmas Markets in front of the town hall. Then we shall stagger over to Rusholme somehow, think we can get a bus. Should be a fab day out. If you've never been to the xmas markets at Manchester before, it's a very nice way to spend an afternoon. If anyone wants to join us, we have a guest room. Neil, we'll hope to meet you in the Bavarian beer bar facing the town hall.
-
Yeah maybe. It's about 10-12 miles I'm guessing.
-
Well, there's no cost to change them back, I have my other wheels in the shed. But, obviously I'm not going to be jacking the car up at this point to swop them over. It'll get colder soon, hopefully!
-
I will do my best, just saying I've got a lot on already on that day. If I can work out how to get to Rusholme by public transport!
-
Sorry you can't make it, Rab. I'm trying to work out the impossibilities of getting from where I live to Rusholme without a car. I think it might involve buses. The problem we have is that we are going to the Xmas markets in teh afternoon (whcih has been planned for two months) having a drink and then trying to get to Rusholme after coming home is difficult. I do want to come, but I've just got too much going on every weekend it seems.

Tbh they are a lot worse than 10% less effective than the Primacy's in higher temps. I need to get around too, but temperatures over 7C (the temps at the moment are lower than average) make me wonder if I should have waited a fair bit longer before putting the tyres on as temperatures at the moment haven't been low enough really. If that's the case then it's worth having the winters for Jan/Feb, but two months a year is a pretty short period!
