Look loads better, Mark. I admit I am tempted by the BC's having ridden in Mike's demo car.

I will be looking into this, though it'll be the new year now, December is an expensive month. I too wouldn't use anyone else but Adrian.

Yes, very sad, forty is no age. Never liked the films though.

GT86 Drift Experience
Lauren replied to Subota Boy's topic in Meets/Show & Shine - Pictures & Videos
I've been round Buxton Raceway in my AE86. Cost me a tenner. It's cheap, but the walls that are lined with concrete and the peak district behind them are not very forgiving. You would be bonkers taking your car out there. I did four sessions in the AE86 (I could have gone out all day) and realised that it was simply a matter of time before I hit the armco. Avoid it at all costs. Oulton is a much better bet. -
Good stuff! Must admit, I don't really see the point of launch control, rev matching and flat foot shifting, but it's the map of course that's important. Though I really need to ride in a car that's been remapped to see the difference I think.

Looks aliright. :+: Though I've found them better in colder temps, as soon as it's over 8C they are just hopeless. I've got no confidence in their grip. I'm going to weigh up over the winter period the temperature because if it's over 8C more than it's not it raises the debate whether winter tyres are worth it really. We'll see.

It's okay for hte most part. I admit I only listen to 6 Music, nothing else. It just depends on the area. Some rural parts of the world and I can't pick any up at all. I've got a DAB aerial on my windscreen.

I wash my car through the winter. I have to. I do a fair amount of miles, though it's absolutely filthy now five days after I washed it. It's just one of those things, I can't leave it though as the salt and grime gets caked on which isn't good for the paintwork nor the chassis. Pressure washer this weekend I think! Rob got a dent at McDonald's when they all went off to see Rush during JAE.

That's something different.

Yep, you're right, two way components. Yes, it's the resets that I want it to cure. Will grab a USB stick off Mark and give it a go. Interestingly I have a friend who's unit reset itself and then asked for a ten digit passcode. He's had to send the unit back to Alpine, so a bit of a disaster there.

Brawn to leave Mercedes Formula One team
Lauren replied to GT86-Ian's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Well, not suprising news to anyone who has been following the story, really. I wouldn't blame him if he retires, guess we'll just have to see. Must say I've really got a bit bored by F1 this year. -
I'm getting the same issue. Spent ages getting all the grime off on Sunday only for it to be thoroughly covered again by Tuesday. Endless task I think!

I'm now staying over with a friend in Crewe on Friday night as we're out for works xmas drinks. I'll try not to drink too much, but I suspect my friend will be a bad influence. We'll see! I'll do my best to be sober for the morning meet at Lymm.

Well that would be the easy option.

I concur with Dave on this one. New tyres on the rear is a safer option. I always used to put them on the front, partly because it drove forum experts mad and they claimed I would die instantly. Well, it was more exciting and on the whole I've managed to survive.

Yep, seen that. Too scared to attempt it though, looks complicated. In your opinion is the update worth doing? Any idea how much the map updates are? Mine is a bit out of date. I know you need to do it on navietools or something, but I can't use it as I have a Mac.

Aboslutely lovely. :lover:

That's better, but really nobody is going to call that pretty. It's just a bit I don't know, boring. But, then so was the last one and the one before that really.

Driftworks 'Outsiders' movie released on YouTube
Lauren replied to speedy's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
Yes, that's the one. Think I've seen it about eight times now, but it really is a must watch for anyone interested in Japanese car culture. -
Not a bad idea, if someone wants to pick up the baton with this, then please go for it.
-
LOL! The force is strong in this one...

I have a mute button on my volume knob. Just press it and it mutes it. Press it again, back to previous volume*. *Will cost you a new head unit.

They did, but seriously not worth the faff. They used the cruise control stalk I think to control it. I admit though I started watching the vid, got bored and turned it off. If you can't live without some sort of control which is accessible near the steering wheel what about a stalk that attaches to the steering column? Old school I know, but can be perfectly adequate.

We only got two I'm afraid. Price was £183 or something like that. Some of the prices were pretty high. We're basically seated about as far away from the stage you can get in the roof or some such! They have put on another four dates, so might be worth having a look.

Anyone else going? We bagged a couple of tickets this morning, they are selling out quick! We're seeing them at the O2 on Thursday 3rd July.
