Driftworks 'Outsiders' movie released on YouTube
Lauren replied to speedy's topic in Non GT86/BRZ General Chat
I got this on Blu-ray/DVD when it came out back in February 2012 IIRC. Absolutely brilliant. Well worth a watch. :+: -
Need a full face for karting, Keith. I've got a spare full face bike helmet from years ago, I just use that for karting and open cars.
-
The thing is, Stephen, they change the oil in the service, so it should be full after the service as you have new oil.
-
Looks good.

I've not been to Spa since 2006, Keith. I think Spa has a lot to do with how well you know it. Also I like the wet because it tends to slow the much more powerful cars down. I admit, though, I just like the challenge. It was wet the first time I drove it, it was my first wet trackday (back in 2002) and I had an amazing time really learning the car. I very much hope my next trackday is wet, just think you learn so much more about the car. You can use Avon's on heavier cars, I guess, but I'm not sure how it'd work out. I'd mindful though of over-tyring the car with too much grip. More likely A048's or on a budget 888's are probably a better option if you go down the grip route. I'm not on expert on this though, as I do tend to prefer road tyres and a bit less grip.

I just think these type of vehicles are awful really. What's to like?
-
Awful, just awful. :-:

I've no idea, you'd have to likely ask them.

Great stuff! I've got an AE86 as well (Kouki Trueno GT-Apex), great fun, but I just need to get it back on the road following an engine rebuild. So what spec/colour did you go for and whereabouts in the country are you? We have quite an active social scene, there always seems to be something going on.
-
Yep, totally green with envy! Must say though, I do rather enjoy Spa when it's wet and a bit cold. November seems an ideal time for that. I've been in the summer too though and that was good. :+:

Just really for track days I don't think a full face is necessary. My other two are full face. One is a cheapish motorbike helmet and the other is my race helmet which is fire retardant as well of course. I don't think I'd race with an open face helmet but it will certainly be more comfortable for track days and allow me to be heard a little easier when I'm talking.
-
Okay, success. Both Alec and I bought a helmet! 9am this morning! Helmet purchased as both my other two are nine and eleven years old respectively, so about time I got a new one. Went for an open face this time for trackdays.

IMOC are having a meet up at Lymm (Truck Stop) Services for 9.30am at McDonald's. 9.30am for breakfast, 10am for the drive down. Martin on IMOC has organised a 40minute drive on some nice roads: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1535453#1535453 Martin writes: JDM North Japanese car and bike meet is happening at at Oulton Park on Saturday 30th November. It's on from 1100hrs to 1700hrs and is £2 per person on the gate. I'm organising a pre-meet at Lymm services, a short, fun country drive through Kingsley and hopefully arriving in convoy and all getting parked up together for the meet. Meet at Lymm Services (furthest corner of the car park) M6 Junction 20 WA13 0SP Arrive at 09:30 or earlier (for a Mc Donalds breakfast). Set off at 10:00. JDM North are expecting about 500 cars to turn up.

Ascot? Isn't that something to do with horses?

Looks like McD's breakfast is in the offing on the M56 services at Chester. Could be a meeting point for those further west? http://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/Chester

I think it's 6kg front and 4kg rear for the BC's in stock configuration. This is why I asked Stephen if his were custom rates as I remember something about this when he ordered them. And yes, Keith, correct about the spring rate ratio.

I might see what I can do. Can't really do a full day there though as will need to walk Indy and I can't take her there. Looks like a big event though.
-
Don't want to hijack the thread, but what problems are you having, Rob?
-
Great stuff. :+: And Rab, that's going to be some trip!

Looks quite funky from this angle:

I'd be too old for any of that then, being raised in an analogue age.

I've never had winter tyres before, so I'm generally intrigued to see how I get on. I'm currently working around the Staffordshire moors so it is pretty remote in places and prone to getting snow and slippery conditions going on last years experience. I will write up how I get on with them.

May well see you there then! Will be up there with a couple of the girls from work and Mark in the afternoon.
