Yes, I met up with Johnny when I passed through Belgium on my way to Germany last July. He might correct me, but in that part of Belgium they speak Dutch I think. He lives near the Dutch border. I trust you gave him an experience to remember then?

Welcome aboard. If you're planning a trip to the UK I expect we can arrange for some turbos to be around! We do get over to the mainland too, though mainly for summer trips. Perhaps (Belgium) is closer we can organise an international meet up as I know a few of the Belgian guys.

Great stuff, I fully expect to hear you coming then when I get to Sandbach!

I reckon Ian should get up early to get over to the meet! How exciting though! :+:

I used to own a DC2 Type-R. Still the best handling car I've owned and an absolutely pin sharp chassis. Thing is not surprisingly they cost twice as much or more as Celica's that are newer. The DC5 (not quite the driver's car that the DC2 was) is more expensive still of course but of the same era as the Gen7 Celica.

I honestly wouldn't bother, I'd pick a different car. But, yes the 2ZZ is the obvvious one, though you'd probably pay half of what the car is worth to procure one of them. That's your only option really.
-
Your's would be worth a bit more than the cooking version and is five years newer. I'm guessing a 2000 Celica with 100K is worth a grand tops.
-
Have a look on autotrader, they're not sought after cars, so prices will be low. The 1ZZ is not a very good engine. That aside it's a good enough car if not on everyone's wish list.

It doesn't cost that much to make one, so maybe they are just pondering it again. I don't think this is anywhere near suggesting that a convertible will come to market.

Mini- Surrey Meet & Abbey Motorsports Saturday 26th October (Round 2)

It's more likely that you're simply booting it more and that is why you are using more fuel. I get 35mpg out of mine. -
I had a friend who had an FQsomething. He seemed to spend a fair bit of money on it when it went wrong. All those active diffs and yaw control equals ££££'s when they go wrong.

Great stuff. These turbo conversions are certainly getting popular!

I honestly have no idea, Richard. It must have happened since the last service. I remember scraping it last week a bit on someone's driveway, but I know it was damaged before that. I've already pulled one bit off that was hanging down. A mechanic friend has offered to cable tie it, which may be a good solution if there is enough material left to do it. But, I'll let you have a look first of course.

Have noticed this since Keith pointed it out at the meet at the Grasshopper in Westerham. I'm really not sure what caused this. I do know I scraped it last week on a driveway but the damage was already there before this. It's at the rear of the undertrays and this weekend I managed to get a twig stuck in one side which I then dragged down the road for about five miles until I noticed the noise. Has anyone else had issues? My car is standard ride height. I'm wondering whether to put something that reinforces it over it like at the front edge of the under tray.
-
I will be taking my car back to RRG to have the winter tyres fitted in a little over a week. I think it looks like new undertrays are needed, not much else I can do.

That's a bit mental though. That would be a bit like designing the GT86 with a live axle because the AE86 has one. Fair enough thirty years ago it was fun, but blimey, does it have it's limitations. Take a live axled car round a corner at speed with a bump in it and you will see what I mean!

LOL. Bit random!

Toyota Touch (& Go) Video Input for Telemetry using Torque Pro
Lauren replied to GT86Jay's topic in ICE/Electrical
Very cool, Jay. I'm guessing as I've already got an aftermarket head unit that I can just put an auxillary in as this is what this one is doing anyway if I wished to do so. I've already got the torque app (well Mark has). -
Cool! Now get saving! That's what I did too. Though I did have a test drive following the launch event. Then I saved for 6 months to get a deposit and voila, one more test drive and the order was in!

Don't worry all stickers will be drivers club ones. :+:

Sorry, I'm not going to be able to make it over this morning, Mark has my car and then I've got Sainsbury's. -
I can't really say, haven't heard of that make. We use AE speakers in the lounge. I would drive it through a seperate amp with a pair of good speakers, as I think you'll get better results that way. Best way to play media I think.
