Welcome aboard Kev. Are you going to play with it, or just enjoy it as is?
-
Welcome aboard. Scottish plate by the looks of it, so it's come a fair way to Braintree! Enjoy.

I'm using Ferodo DS2500's all round. I ran Stoptech before the street ones I think. It was these that had the squeaking issue!

Ah don't worry, I'm a Director of the club. The cold air thing just makes me laugh as you can't make air colder than the temperature it was already, which is why it's a daft Americanism, a bit like gasoline. And welcome btw.

I've had this before, it's likely a sintered bit of pad which is slightly raised. You can take them off and file down the raised bit of pad. I did this with mine but it returned and then I just ignored it till the pads needed changing. Changing them sorted the issue.

I'll have to be honest and say no. Given the car has no brightwork, it would look odd to have chrome wheels I would say.

Brodit phone holder for GT86 & Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

There is something wrong and we're still trying to fix it, I'm afraid. -
They are leather. The trouble is driving in coats, not taking care when you get in and out on the relatively heavily bolstered seats causes the problem. I have had no such issues in 124K miles. I always use leather cleaner/conditioner and never drive in a coat as well as taking care not to catch the side bolster when I get in or out. @KAS I suspect the seat on the Volvo wasn't as heavily bolstered and so less likely to get rubbed getting in and out. It was probably harder wearing though!

It's a hardy enough car as I can confirm having driven 124,000 miles in the six years I've owned it from new. I've not had any significant issues as such and I still drive mine every day. As long as you do the required maintenance and keep to the service schedule it should do fine.

Welcome aboard, that's quite a departure from an MGTF! Whereabouts are you based? Have a look at the social meets and also the official events as the show and sprint season are drawing ever closer.

Putting their super resonated pipe in will make your exhaust quieter, it's a longer silencer made specifically for this purpose. I'm sure you could sell it so I would say this would qualify as a for sale post, but it's obviously still on your car at the moment! Or you could just drive your car for a few weeks and see if you still think it's too loud then. I had much the same feelings when I had my manifold, decat pipe and resonated system fitted at TD, but after a few weeks I got used to it and decided to leave it as is.

Thank you. I know about the 'cold air' thing, it's a daft Americanism. 'Ambient air feed' would be accurate.

No chance of anything removing the option, you are simply not doing it right. I can honestly never remember how to do it, but a bit of fiddling pressing the buttons to the right of the binnacle should get a 'g/on' which is what you are looking for. The video is right in accessory mode (on press of the start button without clutch depressed) then using the odo button to cycle through.

You need pictures and a price as per selling rules please. There is no such thing as a 'cold air' induction kit. Just saying.

We are having some problems with the forum and Cloudflare. It's probably best to turn email notifications off at the moment. -
We have been having significant issues with Cloudflare and have been working hard to resolve this. It's not been easy. Can I point out that we do not accept links to eBay, you need to put prices and pictures up please.

Is there any point at all? Given you will not be able to start the car without the key? Okay it may provide a small deterrent, but it's a massive pain to have to grapple with day in day out and putting it on taking it off everywhere you go.

For the speculatists! @Leeky https://www.motor1.com/news/304978/toyota-86-british-green-limited/?fbclid=IwAR0HVGPbtTU66rDaLMnl6vVwLOKqlc5NUiiOItLxjmJdThOiJ3WVyZSF-Ps " For what it’s worth, Toyota is planning a next-generation 86 which will remain a more affordable sports car than the recently introduced new Supra. As a spokesman for the company in the United States told us, “the 86 has been in the Toyota family since 2013 and the plan is that it will continue to be a part of Toyota’s sports car lineup.” All that’s good but bear in mind we won’t see a new 86, or a Subaru BRZ, before 2021. What better way to keep the current model fresh than offer customers a new special edition of the two-door coupe from Japan. In fact, Japan is the key word here as the new Toyota 86 British Green Limited seems to be limited only to the Land of the Rising Sun – the automaker doesn’t mention its market plans for the vehicle, but all the available information about it comes from the brand's Japanese site.

Ah yes, it's a nut, rather than a bolt. From what I remember we just undid the nut and put the harness eyehole in there. There was enough thread. It's just a bit fiddly.
-
It bolts onto the lap belt mounts. There isn't a lot of room but I managed to bolt mine in without removing the drivers seat easily enough. You get longer bolts with the belts.

Well, some news at last. I am very pleased to announce Jeff @Deacon has taken the position on as Club Chairman. Welcome aboard Jeff. I'm in the midst of juggling work and trying to get all these things sorted, so I will be pleased to have some good help and I am sure that Jeff will do an amazing job, we are fortunate indeed to have him aboard. There are more committee members coming, I am in the midst of sorting it all out with Rob and Keith. There is still some vacant positions available in regard to Vice-Chair person and also two more in regard to Events, we really need a Northern events organiser!
-
A bit overdue, but I'd like to welcome @VAD17 aboard to the committee as our Trackday and Event Organiser. As I'm sure you'll agree he has been brilliant at organising track days and local events and we appreciate all his hard work.

Your comparison are all saloons that started out cheaper and were made more expensive by a halo model. It's not going to be the other way round. We won't see the 2 litre here, given how few Supras will sell. Tada san always said that there will be a three car line up with the GT86 in the middle. We are awaiting what they are going to do about the S-FR type model.
