Workmanship at Milton Keynes / Bedford dealer
Lauren replied to willclarke's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Yes I know. I have been to the factory, but apart from stating what we already all know, whilst Subaru have more experience with the flat four they are likely to have far less experience with the BRZ given how little have been sold. So a reputable Toyota dealer is just as good if not better depending upon where you go of course. -

No you won't. Not with a Toyota. -
Welcome aboard. There is always lots going on down south, check out the social meets.

I didn't fit mine, got Gary to do it at RRG. You need to shim them up to get them aligned, I know that much. There are some instructions you get with the calipers. I may still have mine, but will have to dig them out.

The TD NA package consisting of an air filter and exhaust manifold losing the primary cat is about the best NA mod you can do. Loads of us have done it. As others have said get a resonated exhaust as otherwise it will be too loud with that combination. I'd see if you like the sound of the Cobra first, a lot don't. I went for the TD EL manifold, Milltek Overpipe (not necessary but I already had it), TD decat pipe and resonated system.

It's 3505 cars in total in the UK. -
They were pretty quiet in the wet and windy conditions. You had a few bits on the B road section where if you got stuck behind a car that was it, but no such problem on the A543 where it is really well sighted at the top section and easy to overtake. I've done it five times now and it's never busy really.

Welcome aboard. 35 is correct, 30 psi is not. Most of us run somewhere in the middle of that. Personal preference and all that.
-
I led all the laps so it's difficult to tell, but I was a fair bit ahead for the most part, though I've done the Triangle about five times now. I did look in the mirror of course and the Caymans were miles behind it seemed.

They have to do it, forced induction or not. Whether or not they will look to charge for the extra work required is something that is worth checking with your dealer. I would just approach it at the time. I mean it's only unbolting a few more things and then bolting them together again. There's a whole load of people getting into a flap about it. I'm not worried myself, it has to be done, it'll get done and be fine, erm that's it. Sure RRG know what they are doing and I trust them completely with my car. -
Thanks for organising a really good day out, Mark. I thoroughly enjoyed myself getting three laps in! Was also interesting to try your car with the BC coilovers. They ride really well, but rear damping seems to run out of ideas at times, when faced with a number of compressions at speed. Sorry for scaring you a bit! Was also nice to meet @TommyC, hope you enjoyed the ride. I had an absolute blast all the way back to the A55 too, the roads around there are cracking. We should do it more often!

TRD's were available from March 13. Your's could well have sat around in the dealers etcetera, or perhaps it was one of the last to have the bodykit fitted. You can check online. -

I've had a few. My car is on 120K miles and getting on for six years old. It will be free of charge and will not cost you anything. It's for the lifetime of the car, irrespective of owner etcetera. -

Richard from RRG told me cars built from April 2012- May 2013, that is for the UK though. -

I wouldn't worry too much, I've done over 120K miles in mine. Fascinated to hear what condition the engine is in when they take it apart. If it fails now due to a valve spring failing it'll be covered. -
It's just utter shite, no pre-outs for an amp, the touch screen is a bit laggy and low res. It doesn't have DAB, you cannot adjust the bass individually. The trouble is the entire system is crap which is why I ditched it after a month and went for a pro-install. I got sat nav and DAB that way too with an Alpine HU. It'd probably work okay with decent speakers having said all that.
-
The stock head unit is pretty rubbish really. As other's have said you could add DAB but it was expensive. I haven't seen many post 2017 Head units being offered up for sale but you never know. I've got a stock head unit from 2013, only used a month from new. No DAB, no sat nav as I was always going to take it out after buying my car. They all have a touch screen. I'd honestly say buy an aftermarket head unit, it wouldn't be difficult to do better than the stock unit.

Put simply you can get far better gains from a decent manifold, decat and remap. This is what the majority of us have done. If fitting the Crawford inlet manifold spacers is all you are going to do in terms of tuning then it could be beneficial it seems.
-
The upper bit of the B5401 is the best bit really.
-
Welcome aboard. If you can pick it up early enough, you could make the EVO Triangle run!
-
Mine is like your's has been like it for years. Can hardly see if the sun is right on it, my screen has thousands of white specks that pick up in the sun. I thought it was just tiny chips from the high mileage my car has done. Though I've got quite a few chips in my screen I don't really want to replace the windscreen unless I absolutely have to.
-
Ah that's good news, I could never have a car again without AC.
-
Progress at last, does this mean you will have AC again?
